Miss my old rapid 7 mk1 2009 model gutid. If thay never went bust I still have it but now you can get after market parts when that first went bust couldn't get o-rings so I got rid of it. Best PCP IV ever had and I have had a lot of guns over the years. Never mind one day one will cross paths again
Easily my favourite TH-cam channel !! yours and Geoffs work jake is first class the attention to detail is stunning..love it and please continue its very much appreciated 👏
Excellent guide, thank you for taking the time and effort to do this. It's been 15 - 20 years since I stripped mine down out of curiosity and this refreshed the process nicely. Incidentally I believe this rifle to be a late model MK1 due to the markings an the block. Also a MkII bolt handle (but I know it's been played with) Thanks again.
Great and clear video. I just bought my first Theoben Rapid. Mine`s a MK1 too. I`ve got a Theoben rammer too, a Countryman. Anyway, this vid told me a lot. Thanks.
I love how theoben chose to buy all components of the rifles for other manufacturers, the triggers were from gamo, and a couple of other well known names are part of the theoben rifles, it's amazing how good Ben Taylor was able to get the gamo trigger unit to work so much better than gamo ever did. I was very sad when theoben shut it doors. I know that they tried to keep going under the name impact arms, and they exist as rapid air weapons in the United States, but it will never be the same as getting on the phone to a little cottage industry set up and ordering the rifle, also if you were lucky enough, you could actually speak to the very eccentric and funny Ben Taylor himself ( in the days when he was still at Theo ( BEN) that is how the company got its name, the two guys who set it up,Ben Taylor and Theo something,I can't remember his surname at the moment, sorry for the long rant lol.
Yeah its a shame, but the rifles are still out there and still being enjoyed so it not all bad, RAW are doing very well in the states and GSX or impact seem to be trying new things with the blocks, but I agree its a shame to see a cottage industry go down. Thanks for watching.
Great vid, not seen a strip down of one of these for a long time. Best and most reliable rifle I've ever owned. Its the only gun id never get rid of. If I could only own one gun this would be it.
Nice video, my rapid is a very late mk2 but I'm quite intrigued with the different design valve with the flat seat, what are the benefits over the original design?
No problem thanks for watching, This rifle was made in the 90's so SAE was very common in the UK back then, luckily now we have fully switched to metric, so now more sodding around with SAE Allen keys. Thanks for watching.
A friend of mine had one MANY years ago. Quite a simple gun and built like a tank. It would be nice to have those drawings available for your viewers. Cheers
Thanks for the tip, having a little experiment with the length of the brass piece one but when I get it right ill put a delrin insert in the end of it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. Do you know how to take the valve off the buddy bottle for servicing, I need to change mind because of a leak but don't know how. What tool do I need?
Great video out of interest the Allen key screw drivers you use what make are they and any links to them or a good recommendation keep up the good work .
The red handled ones are EDS hex drives, very recommended, you can find them on ebay or you may find them cheaper if you have a search on google. Thanks for watching.
Great video .Well done .Had my rapid 7 mk1 for over 20 years and it never EVER broke .I'm wondering if their is a fix to stop the air blast I get from the pellet probe when I pull the trigger it blasts past each side of the magazine .Any ideas anybody??? Thanks .
Hi pal since you are a magician in making gun parts to high quality i have a question, would you be able to make a transfer port for my hatsan galation .22 the one in my gun is made of brass and the threads have become damaged and no longer holds the air tube, every time I fire the gun the air tube flies out of the gun. Let me know if it's something you would be interested in doing and placing it on ebay for me. Many thanks
Sorry mate without the rifle its hard to get parts right, its not something we can do at the moment. Thanks for the interest though. Thanks for watching.
@@sub12airgunners thanks for getting back to me love watching that's you into my guns I moved away came home when my father past away few months back so had to get my guns sorted firs one out theoben mfr hasn't bin used in over 15 years my nephew was exited to be lernd didn't think any would hold air theoben filled up pellet on pellet logun different won't take any air they going to need full service haven't got a sweat 16 any more but there is people who are making them pump action as they were meant to be could sea your majick working on a sweat sixteen some day keep up the great work mitch🏴👍
They are certainly built to last very nicely made as well considering this one is a little over 20 years old everything still moves and feels very nice and smooth. Thanks for watching.
A beautiful gun,I own a theoben Mfr with a hugget shroud/silencer, I love the simplicity of the rifle, no guage,no quick fill, just count the right amount of pellets out, charge your bottle to 220 bar ( I know they say 232 bar for the theoben buddy bottle rifles, I prefer to keep it under that,220 gives me 150 shots I'm.177). If you ever choose to sell that rifle,( or any theoben rifle) please please message me and I will send you my email address,I'm in England, Really enjoying the videos by the way, excellent job sir.

Looks like those action and barrel ports have been opened up all the way through for more power🤔😉

Gotta love a rapid - very clear guide. Thanks for posting it. Looking forward to the home made block - I bet it has pic rails :-)
Yeah, pic rails, reguator, SSG should be a nice project, might do a video series on it. Thanks for watching Tim.
Great vid, not seen a strip down of one of these for a long time. Best and most reliable rifle I've ever owned. Its the only gun id never get rid of. If I could only own one gun this would be it.
Yep it hard to beat, built to last, reliable and easy to work on. Thanks for watching.
Nice video, my rapid is a very late mk2 but I'm quite intrigued with the different design valve with the flat seat, what are the benefits over the original design?
In my humble opinion this is the pcp that gave birth to the modern pcp race
one of the first buddy bottle/ block rifles defiantly way ahead of its time, Thanks for watching.
Blows my mind they switch from metric to SAE. Thanks for this video.

In the brass pip you made if you put a piece of delrin in the end to hit the valve you will be amazed how quiet it make the action.
Thanks for the tip, having a little experiment with the length of the brass piece one but when I get it right ill put a delrin insert in the end of it. Thanks for watching.
Will be interesting to see what work of art you will create to this gun. Never seen one of these before so can't wait for the next video 😁👍👍👍👍

Do you think this mk1 can also fit in the regulator?
Could i ask the history of this gun as it is identical to one i had stolen from me 20 years ago ? Down to the michael tawn silencer
Hi, we got this gun about 2 years ago from Essex as a project the chap we got it from said he had owned it for many years
Interesting video, thanks Geoff.
Very welcome, thanks for watching.
Are the valves available here in the States?
Not sure, your best bet would be to ask on the Rapid 7 owners club forum I think this one was done by KevG, but I am not sure. Thanks for watching.
