The sticky/dusty combination on the outside is more than likely they wiped it with a disinfectant wipe (Lysol or Clorox wipes). The wipes like that leave a residue that can cause a sticky like substance and it attracts dust. The dust that it attracts will accumulae faster than normally because it is attracted to the sticky substance. -sincerely someone who cleans a lot and spent way too much time figuring this out

I knew about the rumors about DKoldies, and to me they were just that, rumors. But seeing that more and more people are speaking and have experienced the same thing, I feel disappointed.

Two points: they should give the covers on top regardless of condition, and not put the warranty sticker on the battery cover, which is made to be user replaceable
That’s why I buy from local retro game shops. I got my wii from there, it had the stand and everything how the original came with. Maybe not every local retro gaming store has that kind of service, but the one I know they would completely replace the outside if it was that banged up. But if it was like a little bit they won’t but yeah I got mine with everything the cords and a Wii mote and Wii play for $100. It was the one that you could play backwards compatible. The condition I got was very good. Sometimes I’ve heard it’s good and not good. It’s better to go to the store yourself and see what you’re getting before you buy it.
I buy from my local store as well, and yeah it’s much better. The consoles typically speaking are much better maintained when you buy them, and never seem to have problems. And for a bonus, your supporting a local business!

The worst one being the XBOX where the capacitors were swollen and the disc drive barely working.

That is just a single philips screw that was always allowed to be replaced?? Also I would always test a normal disc and a dual layer disc (such as Smash Bros Brawl) as I've often ran into wii's that won't play dual layer due to the laser being a little dirty.

The main problem i have is the prices. I bought my Wii at a local store for 40 bucks, and came with wiimote, cables and ports cover included, and was cleaner than that.

If its got the latest update, has it really been factory reset? The console being sticky isn't something I would consider as a cosmetic flaw. More of a cleanliness issue. Not surprised one bit that the inside was dirty. Looks like a smoker previously owned it given the color of the grime.

Is there a nicer way to address and not be as overly dramatic as reviewtechusa sure but it doesn't undermine the fact that DKOldies doesn't do what they claim to do.
