Wild ARMs 3 is literally Wild West: The RPG. _Everything_ about it is the Wild West. From aesthetic to the characters, if you want a traditional, turn-based RPG, then that's your game.
Even if I don’t care much for mods (consequence of the only PC I have being a potato of a laptop), I do find it really interesting how The Stanley Parable, a game I quite enjoyed, originally started out as a Half-Life 2 mod.
The sad thing about Warcraft 3 is that on Reforged, you can’t have a way to freely express yourself without Blizzard claiming your work as their property now. Dota and all that followed was possible years ago in the original WC3. Now? Good luck. I don’t even think Reforged has Dota or any maps that involve copyright
It's a good thing the modding tools within Dota 2 allow for some pretty cool stuff instead, after all, it was only last year that a Dota 2 mod spawned the Auto-Chess/Auto-Battler genre
Um, DOTA 2 didn't "inspire" league of legends. Riot Games was founded by a number of people who worked on the original DOTA mods, and the started production on LoL even before Valve hired other DOTA modders and got started on DOTA 2.
Here's a video idea: Top 5 or Top 10 Out-of-Place Games in Their Mainline Series. You could talk about supposed sequels that change the genre of the previous games, or how the mood of the game is changed entirely, for better or for worse. I can't think of a lot of great examples right this second, but you could mention something like how the remake of FFVII isn't turn-based or how Super Mario Bros. the Lost Levels is considered much harder and more cynical than most of the series.
Knew about a few of these, but not all. Team Fortress and DOTA I feel are rather notable examples (and GMOD has it in the name), but I didn't know about Killing Floor or PUBG. I also didn't know people said that in a different way than "Pub-G"
