Changalang Productions Hey, the 260HP are the maximum power level on a stock engine, the engines are holding up pretty well, he gearbox is the weak spot :)
@@mrfalter9906 The gearbox from the K20 would hold up, but it would be a lot of hassle and engineering, as noone has installed a k20 gearbox onto an R18 Engine
@@nvl2691 The issue is not much the weakness of the gearbox itself, but the small diameter of the clutch disc, even a clutch disc with MIBA ceramic 5 Puck plate is eaten pretty quickly. But there is no easy option to mount a bigger diameter clutch disc.
Interesting! I didn't even know there was a Type S version of the 8th gen until today and nor did I know it got the R18. Here in the States, we only got the coupe and the sedan for the 8th and 9th gen. No hatch. We did get the same motors though. My first Civic had the R18 but had the awful CVT transmission paired with it. So I woud've most likely blown up the transmission going anything above 6PSI of boost if I did ever get around to getting a turbo on it.
@@Adrian-bf2dv It's so weird you guys got a completely different 8th gen lineup compared to the US. I remember when I was looking around for mods for the R18, only one or two places had actually done any RnD here in the States. Yet there were a lot more places in Europe that had more parts and did more and I didn't know this was the reason. And yeah. The Si coupe and sedan both got the K20. My personal favorite Civic though is the 9th gen Si with the K24. A lot you can do with one of those
@RR Extra I've never drive the 6MT Accord coupes but from what I understand, they're pretty sweet. Especially if you got it with the V6. The values of them went WAY up in recent years though so it's damn near impossible to find one under 20K because people began to realize how good they are after the 11th gen Accord came out. The same thing happened to the 2.0 liter Accord with the 6MT after Honda killed it off as an option.
Yes, I got the US ECU. I drove to the Honda dealer on my EU ECU, swapped on the parking lot to the US ECU and the dealer programmed the keys. 10 Minute job 😉
@@WhiteSlift Had an oil starvation issue because of a damaged turbo oil feed, so the engine went toast. Fortunately where I live, a used replacement engine costs around 150 dollars, so no big deal 😜 With the gearbox, I have an LSD installed, one of the gears broke because of the power, for 50 USD I bought a used gearbox, rebuilt it, working fine till now. Except for the clutch usage, even with MIBA ceramic pucks it eats clutches for breakfast, let's say one a year 😂 But yeah, that's the turbo build life, everything can brake anytime 😉

The cheapest used one on ebay costs 270 euros 😳 That's quite a lot of issues then, too bad because I was hoping to get a turbokit for my FK2 one day (tax on horsepower is insane where I live). Guess it's probably better to get a stock turbo like a VW with a TSI engine or a turbodiesel and get more power by chipping it. 🤔

Kupplung ist der größte Schwachpunkt. Habe eine Sonderanfertigung mit MIBA-Keramikplatten bauen lassen, hat jedoch bei launch control starts etc. ca. 1 Jahr gehalten. Der Durchmesser der Kupplung ist leider recht klein. Bin nie gegen einen CZT gefahren 😉

@@diecaprisonne643 Bezweifle dass sie Street Performance lange halten wird, aber probieren geht über studieren 😉 1 Wochenende? 🤣 Der Einbau und Fabrikation der Custom-Sachen hat 7 Tage a 10-12 Arbeitsstunden verschlungen. Sämtliche lampen? 2. Lambda Sonde war nicht ausgeschaltet auf dem Video, deswegen die Kontrolleuchte. 1 Klick in der Software und schon war die Leuchte weg 😉

@@Adrian-bf2dv why didn't you buy the type r and do a turbo setup? Mines running around 240 hp and does the 100 - 160 in about the same time 7 seconds or so, need try again after removing the balance shaft.
@@Stichlyla I had my 1.8 already tuned with many upgrades performance and look wise, didn't want to sell it, or part it out. A boosted 8gen 1.8 is also a pretty unusual project, i always didn't like to do things everyone is doing 😉

I've got one of these but have heard bad things about turbo modified R18 engines. hence seeing the engine management light on the dash! can't be reliable unless I'm mistaken. Looks good though 👍 but I'm not ready to kill my engine unless proven otherwise.
BF MC The R18s are very reliable even on turbo, it depends on how well its tuned and maintained. The dashlight was because of a broken wire to the lambda sensor, doesnt matter on full throttle.

Do you still own this car I think 190-200bhp the clutch would of handled it but 260 for this clutch is too much

the 1.8 doesn't have vtec, it has something similar but its only used for better fuel consumption not power gains

Sourced everything individually. Exhaust, IC piping and much other stuff are specially made for my car

Wozu Turbo, mache ein AllMotor Tuning. Meiner leistet 178PS ohne Turbo. Hab ihn noch um 75kg leichter gemacht, schiebt nun in ehrlichen 7.2s auf 100

Trzeba założyć komputer z amerykanskiej wersji, i wtedy masz mozlwość strojenia oryginalnym programem hondy HONDATA FLASH PRO.
