- Here we go again. Please welcome the latest project car to the channel. This is a one-owner 1993 Acura Legend L coupe with the 3.2-liter Type II V6 and 4-speed automatic, with only 115,000 miles. Stay tuned for a transformation.
My neighbor had a gold one when I was younger. Beautiful car.
The design has definitely aged well!

Once Acura changed the name from Legend to RL their Flagship cars was never the same......
That's very true!
3.5 RL was still a face lifted version of its predecessor, once they went to the J series platform and SH-AWD it was a different car.
Ahhh 😌 The Legend Coupe , its just forever beautiful. I think one thing that the coupe has over the sedan for today’s standards is that it sits a little taller which makes it feel less older.🤔

I had the six speed in 95; because I couldn't afford the NSX. Seeing this car on it's last leg on Craigslist always makes me sad.
Older or newer, it's exactly the old age that makes her so beautiful. They changed car designs after SUVs became wide-spread. The smaller wheels, the slimmer bonnet, the long doors: all that makes her lower and sleeker.
I wonder if that Legend realizes how lucky it is to be in Tyson’s hands? Can’t wait to see this one come together!

@@TysonHugie yes sir!! Ive owned at least 4 ( 1 first gen 3 second gens) resto all of them bought all of them for less than 2k each (sold em for much more lol)and I love em currently have a gold 93 coupe im working on got it outta texas for like 500 bucks lol

So my buddy's sister has a 93 black coupe she wants gone from her home since she bought a new car.
I hopefully will be the new owner soon. She's the second owner, car always garaged, and locally owned.
I'm not an Acura fan by any means. I'm mostly a 60's muscle car guy but this Acura has grabbed my heartstrings which I find intriguing.
It's a beautiful machine amd can't thank you enough for your videos.
Wish me luck on what I hope is my first purchase of this fine Acura.

I used to own of these in the late 90's with the 6 speed manual...Its interesting you mention the 1-2 shift on the automatics. That 1-2 shift on the 6 speed manual almost always crunched when I shifted
Weird, maybe a synchro issue. They are solid cars for sure.

The 6 speed manual in the GS models needed a little more "work" . Let me say that the clutch feel or the shifting was up to BMW standards at the time. My 1-2 always crunched unless I shifted it "really" easy . I had a friend who had one also...same thing

I love it! Some stock wheels and it will look perfect! I love all the records too im a junkie for records and anything that would have come with the car. And any ads or write ups brochures! I have so so much paperwork on the cars ive had! A gentleman near me has a milano red legend coupe that is 100 percent perfect only drivin in the summer bought new when its sitting out in the summer at his business he has towel”s on the seats dash and package shelf to protect it! Its like stepping back in time!

The good news is he gave you a factory full size "Spare". The bad news is it's actually just 1 of the original wheels and sadly the rest weren't included. lol!
I already have it handled! I'm upgrading the car to the 16" OEM wheels instead of 15" OEM wheels anyway.

I always loved these in the 90s still looks dam good for its age when everyone else made something very different from the others especially the rarer type 2 and ill take the coupes all day excellent car.

An airplane on wheels! Only the '90-s had such cars... The most beautiful standard (non-exotic, non ridiculously expensive) car ever made. Maybe only the 1999 BMW 7 series (the car "The Transporter" had) comes close to those sleek lines, but it's only just close... I really wanted one of those, but was afraid to drive and put to risk such a beauty every day, but I think I'll get the newer Legend, less beautiful, but safer, and will not be so dear to heart. BTW, at 2:09, if you spin her up to higher RPM it'd shift smoother, because otherwise there'll be more engine braking at the lower gears. At least my coupé feels so.

I got an all white one for my first car. I love driving it. It got stolen a couple months ago, they took it for a joy ride so it’s all beat up. I’m trying to find parts like a new hood and a new fender but they’re impossible to find in Colorado.

I think my favorite videos are these preliminary walk around and short drives of your new purchases! I love seeing the condition that these cars come to you and what you find with them.
That brake booster looked oddly rusty for a California car though, perhaps it's an aftermarket replacement which was unpainted? And I bet the bumper and headlight burn marks are from a battery jump gone wrong.
Yeah I think you're right about the brake booster. I'll refinish that. It's one of many things on the list!
Back in 2002 I owned a 1993 4dr L Automatic. When I manually shifted gears the trans would fall on its face and slap hard. A close friend who owned a Honda/Acura repair shop diagnosed it having the wrong fluid. I bet him Lunch he was wrong and there was no way it could be only the Fluid. Well, Lunch was on me, he flushed the Trans and used the correct hydraulic fluid and it shifted perfectly & smooth. Just my 2cents

Nice clean Legend. That must be the replacement for the purple Integra. I really like the rims on it. I can't figure out why you would want to replace them. In regards to the burn marks on the front bumper and passenger headlight, it looks like the burn damage could have come from an electrical cord that caught on fire.

Hey Tyson. I hope all is well with you. I have a 1994 legend coupe, Just recently the Doors automatically locks when I pull on the knob, or when I press on the unlock button. So no I have to slide over to the passenger seat and open the my door from the outside to get out. Do you have a fix for this please. Thank you
Some of those cars have issues with the door lock actuators unfortunately. I don't know of a fix. You might want to join the Acura Legend Owners & Enthusiasts Facebook group and ask there.

Oh man, I thought I commented but it looks like I didn’t. Nice find! Besides the 1-2 shift, how is the auto trans on the legends? I know I’ll never be able to find a manual trans model in my price range, so I might have to spring for an auto trans model once I clear some space in the garage.
The transmissions are pretty bulletproof actually. Come take her for a spin!
