My grandmama dated this man back in the early 60s. She was a supper club singer in South Central Los Angeles before the watts riots when they had night clubs. My mom said he would come over to my Grandma house singing and doing what ever. My mom said he would give her and her siblings candy to go outside to play while he and my grandmama was in the house hitting them sheets.
I live in Charlotte NC and we have 3 House of Prayers, maybe more. Most of us do not fool with that hot mess of a church. I visited once in 2012 and walked out midservice due to the preacher saying that "women with tattoos and makeup are walking around looking like hoes." There are quite a few things about that place that's crazy but I'll stop here.
I think he became more attractive as he grew older because in some of his earlier pics, it was really hard for me to imagine that women were finding him good-looking.

The mental institute was Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry. It closed in 1990. They used to have tours on Halloween nights. You couldn't have paid me to go in there. There was a bus stop on Roosevelt Blvd. I would walk home before I caught the bus there. They finally closed it and tore it down.

I went to a renown HBCU with a prominent church of Sweet Daddy Grace's, located just off campus. My Grandmother forbade me from stepping foot on that church's ground for any reason. She wanted her family to have nothing to do with Sweet Daddy Grace. My friends used to brag about how good the food was there and ate there weekly. I never ate there once.
What does HBCU stand for? I was born and raised Catholic and as a teen my cousin told my Aunt were going to a Movie so She dropped us off( I really wanted to see that movie) and my Cousin walked to this small building telling me it was a Church.. Well The Holy Spirit sure lit up our feet and took us right out of that door. Never ever told Our Moms . Grandma would've been mortified.
