I’m still waiting. I love my tarot decks depicting modern life, but lately I haven’t been using them as much because the lack of age is bothering me now more than it use to. I’m reaching for my beloved collage decks and fantasy animated decks right now.
Whenever I've bought a deck because I was worried about scarcity, it has usually not been a good purchase for me. Other times I've made purchases based on someone else loving a deck, which doesn't always translate into a purchase I actually love. Other times I'm buying more based on a "fantasy version" of myself, without realizing it. I'm getting better at discerning what decks I really want or will use but it's hard to not want a new shiny thing. I need a local tarot library so I can just go check decks out for a week and take them back after haha.
The “fantasy self” decks are an issue with me big time! I see others on TH-cam who I respect raving about certain decks and I get them and can’t read with them at all. I have to remind myself that those who I am influenced by often have many more years of reading and practicing experience.
This was a great tag to do. I really enjoyed hearing your responses. I also wished I had the Tarot of Delphi, but the other two decks you showed are wonderful and I may have to look into them. Thank you so much for sharing. 💖
Thank you 🙏. I’ve heard whispering over time that the Tarot of Delphi was going to be reprinted, but I’ve now stopped holding my breath. I’m quite happy with my substitutions and it just proves that even if you miss out on a deck, there will always be something else out there to scratch the itch 😉
Awesome video production! It was fun to see what you were seeing on your computer screen, plus the overhead shots of cards. I have some fomo about not getting earlier versions of Forager's Daughter, but I hope that I will love the newest, KS version when it arrives this summer, even though the borders and gilding have been changed. Looking forward to your walkthrough of Literary Tarot. For a multiple artists deck, it looks quite cohesive visually. I'd enjoy more VRs like this! Thanks Bonnie!
Oh yes, I also recently fomo bought a used Superlunaris (and almost immediately resold it, and lost $20 on the transaction because of shipping costs, oh well) and a used 2nd ed. Northern Animal (jury is still out on that one, but I've already bent one card badly which has never happened to me before, which tells you something about the cardstock). And I fomo bought the Shakespeare Oracle off Etsy (because I am a wannabe Shakespeare buff and it's cool and out of print)...it's been a bad couple of months for me in this department, lol!
i missed out on Majestic Earth... and Tyldwick... and first edition of Spirit Keepers which was going for 600 dollars on ebay and i almost got it, but... well... if i were a millionaire i think i would have!
@@oldsoulmermaid1543 I know, it's just ridiculous! I would get it maybe for £100-150 but never any more. I paid as much for Majestic Earth and I don't regret that, but that was definitely my top limit!
Bonnie, you look beautiful! Thank you for your honesty. I think I have a total of roughly 60 decks (maybe a little more). I keep them in a bookcase in my dining room.
Oh, thank you ☺️! Sixty decks seems like a good number. I have a dream of moving to Europe and I have a small mental list of decks that would come with me 😉
Oh no, the Literary Tarot! I'm having the same feelings about it. It seems so cool, but I'm not sure I will click with the art work either! I did when I clicked, but... but... I might be over it now... I am reserving final judgement until it's in my hands, but because I don't think I want to 'waste' the money, I might end up using all the cards as bookmarks for the chosen books.
That’s a wonderful idea to use the cards as bookmarks! You’re more creative than me 😆. I’m hoping I love it when I get it, but I have my doubts. I’m fairly certain I’ll be passing it on, but you never know.
thanks for your videos! i've been waiting on a kickstarter deck, the first one i ever ordered, for over a year now..... i only got into tarot a little over a year ago, and was so excited to order this deck.... and now it's been about 14 months since i ordered it... so, i'll never ever order kickstarter again. i did order a couple more before it was obvious this one would take so long, and they allll took forever and ever, made me a nervous wreck . and i still don't know if i'll ever see this one i ordered, and expensive one! i know the people are honest and if fate decides for it to find me it will, but waiting so long really sort of actually Hurts, if you know what i mean, crazy as it sounds..... i have to go to half price books soon and see if they have any new used decks for sale. thanks for all your sharing!!!
Hi, David! I actually did back one Kickstarter deck that never showed up. I contacted the creator and luckily she had a few extra copies left over, so I eventually did get a copy. I’ve backed some Campaigns with the decks coming in sooner than the original projected date. It really is a crapshoot. I generally don’t worry if the creator is good about updates as to the status of the deck even if it’s taking a long time. Oh, I saw some decks at the Anderson Mill and the 1490 Ranch locations this weekend!
Same here ,im only doing one artists decks on kick starter, pocket of peers artist,im drf being more mindful too,I have quite a few decks I wish I would have bought,im still trying to get rid of a few of those decks
I enjoyed hearing all of your answers to this tag. I managed to get a new copy of the Moon Baby in a trade, i havn't used it yet but find the coulour palette very attractive. I think i saw a post of Brant's mention that the only changes to the second printing will be the edge colour (maybe a green was one possibility) and the backs. On a seperate note, my nosy self really wanted to see your tattoo on your arm, is it the Alice in Wonderland I've heard you mention before? 😍 Sending best wishes from England
Hello! Yes, it’s an Alice tattoo that I had done in two sessions (8 hours in the chair total…yikes!). That’s good to know about the new version of the Moon Baby not being too different other than the edges. I know some people didn’t like the pink edges .
I bought the wild unknown early on and still have it,it's just not my art style and deviant moon I still have ,they just aren't my art styles I bought tattoo tarot early on and def learned my lesson those 3 hoping to rehome those soon
I'm thinking of going thru my list of decks i want yo buy and looking thru my decks I have and mark some off my list too I just enjoy decks with beautiful art,iam looking at buying this one oracle
There has been a few decks that I really was into the concept and thought yes about time! But...the artwork stopped me... didn't feel the art at all. So I understand as far as the artwork and vibing or not vibing I should say.
I 100% agree about the lack of age depiction. It's hard to find a deck that I feel relates to me in this stage (over 40) of life.
I’m still waiting. I love my tarot decks depicting modern life, but lately I haven’t been using them as much because the lack of age is bothering me now more than it use to. I’m reaching for my beloved collage decks and fantasy animated decks right now.
I too struggle with this one as well!
I was reading the comments and then realised they are all from the same person, lol.

I wantvthe Vetruvian SKT, but it's just toooo expensive when it does come up on ebay!
I just found a Tarot of Delphi on EBay for $1,000 😬!

The deck I missed out on was the Blood Moon Tarot... still searching for a copy.
This was a great tag! I hope you find the Blood Moon Tarot…fingers crossed 🤞

I'm going to go thru my decks again and see if can rehome some
I kind of have an idea of how many I have but im not at my limit I set a few yrs ago
I did buy the somnia tarot this week but I did think about for awhile before buying ,so I def won't be buying for awhile

That I keep to ,I tend to try to rehome a deck or 2 before I buy another one and try to think about the deck for a few weeks or more before I buy
Speaking of FOMO--I DEF want that Literary Tarot! lol
Well, I may be putting it up for grabs once I get it 😆.
My copy may be up for grabs when I get it - stay tuned 😆
@@oldsoulmermaid1543 👍
I don't spend the money on a deck unless I know immediately that i love everything about it the second I see it. I never ever deliberate
Usually that’s the case for me, but I have purchased decks that I was sure I was going to love and well…once we met the love affair fizzled out 😆

I started doing that too,I only go on kickstarter once or twice then look to see if I have a deck that will scratch that itch and I usually do
Yes, staying off Kickstarter definitely helps 😆!

The heros journey ,I need to look thru collection and see if I have any decks like it ( which I'm not sure I do)

The Deviant Moon is one deck that I kept that is not my usual type of deck. I use it exclusively for shadow work and that’s it.

Yes, the decks serve a spiritual practice and they are mini masterpieces we can look at in our homes to bring us joy!

Yes! It’s unfortunate. I’m hoping I’ll feel differently once I have the deck in hand 😉
There's this Swedish deck I'd like to find but I'm not going track it down ,I told myself that it's ok I can just g online and look at the art from it
I have a budget and limit
They are useful and good to have!
