  • Hello my Drum Nerd friends! Here’s an interesting one (IMO)….
Lately I’ve been focused on programming new sounds, loops and patches into my multi pads. In this clip, I began with the SPD SX Pro. I had an idea to create an entire kit made up of a bunch of different Hat samples, all from the internal samples, where the main voices are closed hats, and the sub-voice is the complementary open sound. I used ‘Fade 2’ so that the open sound was triggered by my strike velocity. On the Nord, I took a kit and did some editing with pitch, tone, reverb, delay, etc. to create a kit I really love. On the drums, I’m using EZ Drummer 3 as a sub voice on the snare and Kick to add a bit of tone quality and depth. The rest of the drums are a blend of my TD50X & TM6 Pro. Let me know what you think in the comments!
    And seriously, THANKS for watching!!

    Thanks for listening!

Very cool rhythms, love the demonstration. Can you please do a quick comparison between the Nord drum 3P and the SPD SX Pro?

Thanks for watching and your comment - I appreciate it! There are a ton of videos on each pad. As a summary, the simple answer is the SPD SX and Nord are very different. The Nord is a drum synthesizer; the SX is a sampling pad. With the SX, you find or create samples, loops, one-shots, or entire songs and then you can manipulate them any way imaginable using the internal power of the SX or the App. It's an amazing machine. On the other hand, the Nord is a modeling synthesizer - not a sample-based machine. It's more analog in nature, and is very powerful that is really quite easy to use to create unique, organically rich, expressive sounds. I'd start by watching a bunch of videos on the Nord --- look for "Nord Drum 3P Basics" here on YT. Those videos made by Nord are very informative on how to use the 3P and create sounds. Hope that helps
