Is it correct to say that the first few bars were futuristic at the time of its composition? I don't know, something about those first few bars sounds somehow Chopinesque.
Yes, you rather think of Chopin and his era than of Scarlatti's late baroque contemporaries, J S Bach included. He was so innovative that it is surprise after surprise when you delve into his work !
I agree, the first few bars kinda reminds me of early Chopin, i.e. when he composed his less popular 1st sonata and his 'la ci darem la mano variations'

Maybe not necessarily Chopin, but yes, futuristic! Scarlatti is delightful, unpredictable, and full of surprises and... deep and profound, too.

Scarlatti was one of Chopin's favorite composers. Chopin's students all played a lot of Bach and Scarlatti.
@@thekeyoflifepiano Interesting. Do you have any proof ( book etc. )? for that?

I need a midi / synthesia version of this xD
I'm transcribing this piece for string quartet, for each repeat the first will play those high pokey notes pizzicato
It is not meant to be staccato,in this period of keyboard a „point“ does not mean staccatto…
