The Mercedes AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupe starts at $99,995, factoring in $995 for destination and delivery. That price is $37,500 lower than the next available trim, the GT 63, and it's a far cry from the $159,995 GT 63 S that lives atop the lineup. Both 63 variants are already on sale.
The AMG GT 53 sports a 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 gas engine that puts out 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. That mates to a 48-volt mild hybrid system that can provide an extra 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of twist in short bursts. It's still plenty quick, reaching 60 miles per hour in about 4.4 seconds, and it tops out at an electronically limited 174 mph.

@Antonio Zamudio I wish you were right. With the way things are with the world's oil reserves, I dont see ICE engines going out anytime soon. I'd give them another 30-40 years. As it stands, the electric cars dont have much *organic* appeal due to range anxiety, cost and battery tech.

pinkzepp360 Yup, I think that’s why these are mostly leased. That also allows them to nickel and dime the options as they are spread out over the lease payments. I pity the off-lease buyer, they think they’re getting a bargain.
That’s why used models are so cheap and so appealing out of warranty with their massive depreciation. Oh wait something broke? That was your bank account
People buying this car like myself have zero concern for warranty running out. After my lease, I simply get new MB

Loved this review. The shifter in this thing is ridiculous! Literally t rex arms is the proper terminology for who designed it. Would drive me crazy. Pretty sure that hatch is off of my 370z as well. Looks odd

Given the Charger uses an old E Class platform and Mercedes has long been known as the German automaker putting out brutish hp numbers, the comparison is pretty fair.

48 Volt Battery issues that Mercedes wants to keep quiet about... After just one week and less than 300 miles on my new 2021 AMG GT 53 she wouldn't start. I had to get her towed in to the Dealership and had to wait over 2 weeks for a 48V Battery to arrive from Germany. Its not an isolated problem. nice car when she runs.

Mercedes made the ride height so much higher on the 53 vs the 63 that it renders the 53 almost unbuyable for me. Unless you immediately tow it to a tuning shop.
Funny but honest review. The car looks cool but it's not practical. I'll pass, even though I can't afford it anyway.
Good review, but I just can't like this thing. They watered down the CLS and put this thing in the space it used to occupy...and seemingly just to cash in on the success of the GT coupe! That would be one thing, but this thing is even uglier, in my opinion, than the new CLS which isn't even as good looking as the CLS used to be. I could also scratch my head at the idea of two different E-classes in 4-door coupe skin while the actual E-class coupe exists, but I guess the time for that passed ages ago.
The germans confuse the hell outta me with this stuff. I guess if people are buying...

Just leave off the matte paint...then u can wash and wax like any other painted car...if you like the matte color...go for a wrap...price will be very close....
