If you click the middle button at the bottom of the center touch pad, you can open a small pop window at the bottom of the center screen, kind like a short cut. That pop window is about media control, from there you can select next/prev track by turning the center wheel, or even switch bluetooth device quickly
Doug , FYI almost all MB cars ( from 2000+ ), including yours , have that positive battery access, so a service or a change off the battery is done through it. Once you give power to that socket, you can change your battery without causing any problem to your car's systems. greetings from Greece.
my dad recently sold his 06 CLS he isnt that big a fan of the new one. 6:30 the back seats of his car didnt fold down so its nice to see they do on the new one cuz it was silly that they didnt. the AMG GT 4 door is the the AMG version of the CLS since theres no hard core CLS anymore. its really responsive cuz of the mild hybrid system it has. the difference between the stinger and the CLS is $25,000 id take the stinger with a 10 year warranty

Yeah, and on older models you can change a central display from speedometer to current track and then use buttons to change track. Except that it's not very convinient. Especially on my generation, where display is integrated in the speedometer. While it looks gorgeous, the needle is shortened and i am relying on a big digital speedometer 100% of the time.

I live near Stuttgart and there is a ton of the amg gt 4 doors driving around already, but I think most of them are Daimler employees. So it´s out yet, just hard to get. But yea in America you will have to wait a Little longer for it.
TRACK CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL Doug, You do have a next track button on the steering wheel but unfortunately it only works when you have the center screen in your gauge binnacle set to AUDIO. The left arrow UP/DOWN buttons will change track in this mode. Also, did you ever notice the strange quirk/feature of the front passenger seat moving automatically forward when you pull the lever in the trunk to put the rear seats down? Noticed this on my 2015 E350 when we were on travel this past week. Not sure if it also happens on the drivers seat. Nonetheless a cool quirk/feature to point out.

The previous model CLS looked WAY better and far more menacing. This was also an era where you can tell apart every mercedes car from each other because they all had their own unique designs. Now every mercedes coupe looks like every mercedes coupe. Do you think there are too many differences between this CLS and the E class coupe? Even the C class coupe? Not to the untrained eye..... I'm also getting sick of the double screen as the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. Looked cool on the s-class, now it's extremely played out.
You are blind. Back then each Mercedes looked way too different and their wasn't any identity or characteristic to them. Now they look similar not the same. You can still tell them apart unless of course you are blind like you. If you mistaken an eclass coupe with this then you need to get your eyes check ASAP! They look completely different. You don't even have to have an untrained eye ti tell them apart. You just need one eye. And the double screen is amazing. Providing lots of information at eye level. Its not extremely played out. Its their signature in the interior. Just like how Audi and BMW repeat their screen layouts in their cars.
One look at the headlights tells you all you need to know the cls has the newer more aggressive mercedes design while cars like the c class coupe and e class coupe both have the last gen design with the fatter headlights. Also the two screen design attracts buyers, if a non car person with dough to spend walks into a dealer and sees the twin screens under that massive glass panel it's most likely going to give more of a wow factor than a more standard design like those in bmws and audis
No way. Bigger/more screens is the way to go. "Played out" scrum though a VERY small portion of cars has them, and a small portion of MB cars have them.
the previous generation was gorgeous, im not too thrilled with the recent design of Mercedes. Just my personal opinion but i don't think this will age as well as Mercedes are supposed to. BMW and Audi are absolutely killing it when it comes to design although, nothing can top the driving experience of a Mercedes even though this looks like an ugly fish...

So the cls competes with the 6 series gran touring and the a7 and the amg gt will compete with the panamera and the 8 series gran coupe! That's the purpose of the amg gt
The GT 4 door coupe is a competitor to the Panamera....CLS/A7/8 Gran Coupe are sort of separate subsection of entry level luxo 4 door coupe.. Difference is GT 4 door Coupe is a more performance oriented, designed by AMG. Of course S7/RS7 and M version of the 8 Gran Coupe will make their own run at the Porsche.

Yeah, and on older models you can change a central display from speedometer to current track and then use buttons to change track. Except that it's not very convinient. Especially on my generation, where display is integrated in the speedometer. While it looks gorgeous, the needle is shortened and i am relying on a big digital speedometer 100% of the time.
You can also change the direction of the car by turning the steering wheel either left or right! ☝️🙂

TRACK CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL
Doug, You do have a next track button on the steering wheel but unfortunately it only works when you have the center screen in your gauge binnacle set to AUDIO. The left arrow UP/DOWN buttons will change track in this mode.
Also, did you ever notice the strange quirk/feature of the front passenger seat moving automatically forward when you pull the lever in the trunk to put the rear seats down? Noticed this on my 2015 E350 when we were on travel this past week. Not sure if it also happens on the drivers seat. Nonetheless a cool quirk/feature to point out.

I used to think my 2013 Hyundai Elantra sucked for not having a next track button in the steering wheel but the fact that $70k Mercedes doesn’t have one too is kind of relieving lol
You can make the next track button on the touch pads on the steering wheel by configuring it in settings.

The previous model CLS looked WAY better and far more menacing. This was also an era where you can tell apart every mercedes car from each other because they all had their own unique designs. Now every mercedes coupe looks like every mercedes coupe. Do you think there are too many differences between this CLS and the E class coupe? Even the C class coupe? Not to the untrained eye..... I'm also getting sick of the double screen as the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. Looked cool on the s-class, now it's extremely played out.

You are blind. Back then each Mercedes looked way too different and their wasn't any identity or characteristic to them. Now they look similar not the same. You can still tell them apart unless of course you are blind like you.
If you mistaken an eclass coupe with this then you need to get your eyes check ASAP! They look completely different.
You don't even have to have an untrained eye ti tell them apart. You just need one eye.
And the double screen is amazing. Providing lots of information at eye level. Its not extremely played out. Its their signature in the interior. Just like how Audi and BMW repeat their screen layouts in their cars.
One look at the headlights tells you all you need to know the cls has the newer more aggressive mercedes design while cars like the c class coupe and e class coupe both have the last gen design with the fatter headlights. Also the two screen design attracts buyers, if a non car person with dough to spend walks into a dealer and sees the twin screens under that massive glass panel it's most likely going to give more of a wow factor than a more standard design like those in bmws and audis
No way. Bigger/more screens is the way to go. "Played out" scrum though a VERY small portion of cars has them, and a small portion of MB cars have them.

the previous generation was gorgeous, im not too thrilled with the recent design of Mercedes. Just my personal opinion but i don't think this will age as well as Mercedes are supposed to. BMW and Audi are absolutely killing it when it comes to design although, nothing can top the driving experience of a Mercedes even though this looks like an ugly fish...
If only the previous gen had the new interior... they had the technology for the s class in 2014 but when they did a facelift of the cls in 2015 and kept the old interior...
None of the new series car of BMW or Mercedes or whatever will age well. Too many electrical features and sensors that will quit one day.

The GT 4 door coupe is a competitor to the Panamera....CLS/A7/8 Gran Coupe are sort of separate subsection of entry level luxo 4 door coupe.. Difference is GT 4 door Coupe is a more performance oriented, designed by AMG. Of course S7/RS7 and M version of the 8 Gran Coupe will make their own run at the Porsche.
Why don't companies keep all that plastic trash off the engine head? Just build a beautiful mechanical piece and leave it uncovered.
So it will not last too long and people will buy the next car...

@Doug Demuro, Doug my brother has the same year C class and he always skips tracks from the steering wheel. his car is also 2012. on the righthand side of the steering wheel of your car there will be an unmarked button I believe next to the volume button. the top one for next track and the bottom one for the previous track

Khizar hassan - you are correct, they have track forward and back using the left / right arrow buttons on right side of the wheel.
You can skip tracks with that trackpad on the steering wheel.
Last gen CLS was beautiful, this one ended the CLS for me.
