This design and engine, combined with the S-class Coupe interior, would be the dream AMG, for me. I also love that this has more room for the passengers and in the back, compared to the S-class Coupe. They can keep the extra buttons on the steering wheel from the GT, though, and, maybe, the gear selector on the mid console.
I'm not too sure about the gear selector, though, because I like the shape of that control element on the C/E/S and I don't think I'd mind the gear selector on the steering wheel. I mean, it's an automatic, you're only going to use it when you drive off and when you park it...
This kills any chance of a proper S Class four door coupe which annoys and saddens me

I’m not usually a sedan guy but there is something about these coupe inspired sedans I absolutely love over their original coupe counterpart.. I rather have this than the gt if I could that is haha

Thorough & engaging review my man. I was disappointed at it's 1/4 especially since its got the 4maticS & more power but the mean exterior makes up for it
You act like it was on drag strip with prep or something, 11 secs is quite impressive for just being on a street surface I'm sure it runs faster than 11.9 on a proper track.
I love this car, but the E63S is still my favorite Mercedes

RS7 looks very similar in shape because the A7 is a copy of Mercedes CLS.

I think its great that the Germans see fit to do niche vehicles like these. Gives you the opportunity to express and excite yourself at the same time. They seem to be less restricted than everyone else industry wide; always pushing the envelope. Whether you like the new A7, the Panamera or the GT 4Door. The fact they've again invented a category of vehicle and then went bonkers with their own interpretations is the definition of unfettered design and that makes all of these cars beautiful.

I actually thought this was a futuristic CGI prototype when I saw the pic before clicking on the video. Looks awesome, and that colour is "blumming lovely"😁
Like a hybrid between my c63s convertible which I wrapped in Matt black and my GTR. I blacked out the back lights too which makes a great difference
11.9 secs 1/4 mile is not very impressive. It's very fast but with more then 600 horsepower, you'll expect it go give supercar performance which is usually under 11.5 secs quarter mile
This, BMW M5 is doing 10.9 secs fully stock.
It weighs 2.1 tonnes
The track, Cota, has an uphill first straight. He was trying to time it while going up that hill.

Funny how the new GT63S is slower than the standard M5 which does 1/4 mile in 10.9secs@207kmh
@M50B25 Turbo speedometer is inaccurate by 3 or 4 km/h not that huge difference !! You can use stopwatch and it got 203 km in 10.4 seconds lets consider innaccuration then 0-200 in 10.4 seconds ! The gt63s eat any m5 model for lunch Lol..and by the way m5 competition did 1/4 mile in 10.99 vs demon drag...there is no way this Amg is slower than E63 no waay ! Even old Cls63 did 11.5 seconds !

GT63 a large 4 door coupe where as E63 is a full sized luxury car. You just get it for the combination of sport and luxury. E63s is amazing but its styled more luxuriously. Cars doesn't always have to be about performance, its about having a fun car to drive and sit in. This is why I went with the C63s instead of the E63s. C63 is a more violent fun car even if it is a little slower than E63s.
The e class has better looks for me
