Finally justice for Utopia!! I loved it at first listen, and couldnt understand the "hate" that it received. We share the points on Arisen, Loss, Saint. So glad to have followed you on this journey! This video popped in and i had to start the series till this point. You have openness on what you are receiving and understanding on music, and that is a great thing to see on these kind of videos, specially the last one.
Hey Lugga, it's been a hot minute! My favorite tracks on this album are Tabula Rasa, Arisen My Senses, Utopia, Courtship, and Blissing Me (which just recently grew on me). I'm also including Allow from Fossora since it was originally recorded for this album. Not too shabby considering I still only like three songs from Biophilia (my least favorite album of Bjork's). Admittedly, Bjork's highly experimental period (2004-2017) is less accessible overall which made Fossora such a breath of fresh, mycelienated air.

Everything else feels less like a real song and more of an experiment in soundscapes for the accompanying app. It's very Mrs. Frizzle makes music in space for the local planetarium exhibit and its corresponding visitor's app.
@@got2bjosh That’s fair! Virus and hollow both have their own little beats that make them incredible. I think it’s good to also appreciate songs like Moon, solstice, and cosmogony for their sheer beauty. Mutual core is also an incredible song
Wow, it’s been a while, a couple of days ago I questioned myself if you actually got to utopia and I missed it… Some fans really don’t love this, often comparing to Volta, I really loved it, the album art really transmits the sense of bird music, and the sonic identity of it also evokes it a lot, although maybe overlong as a whole. utopia, arising my senses, sue me, and saint are really transportive, again bringing that feel that each Bjork song is a universe… Hopefully you can do a retrospective maybe doing a tier list on her discography… Artists I’ve been listening recently that I’d like to suggest are danger incorporated, and Michael Jackson, hopefully you can check them out someday

Not sure if this album is very appreciated out there , but it is certainly one of my most special . Björk at some point called it her "(dating) apps album" and that makes a lot of sense since i feel it is "searching" and exploring , and very much in a state of mood where you are trying to reevaluate yourself on commitment towards love . Utopia and Courtship are my flute kicks ! Think it is Björk's most musically lush album and trully is its own utopian escapade 👁 wunderschön , und du auch !
You should check out “mid air theif” - crumbling, it’s a folk electronic album with some of the best production I’ve ever heard defiantly worth the listen
So happy you finally got to experience Utopia 🥂. This album came out during an extremely difficult time in my life and was God sent 🙏. My favorite track is LOSSS 💜💜💜💜💜. The production and lyrics are a perfect compliment to one another . I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching the music videos for this album 🤯🤯, there are 6 if not mistaken.
nooo claimstaker is sooo amazing! i think the vocal sampling is brilliant, and beautiful. I adore listening to that song full volume and letting the melodies fill me up. It's so good, I hope it grows on you! Another favorite of mine is courtship, one of her most danceable tracks in her discography, and as a percussionist there isn't a moment where I don't try my best to play along with my fingers. besides that, lovely video! This album is (imo) Bjork's best because its the perfect mold of her classical arrangement abilities with its timeless electronic production. 10/10

Bjork compared her collaboration with Arca on this album to Joni Mitchell and Jaco Pastorius' work on albums like Don Juan's Reckless Daughter....maybe video on that one soon? :P
This is fun ^^ For me this is the worst album of bjork . All the music are trash . Nothing is good . The cover album is disgusting . There is nothing good with utopia . Homogenic is 1 million time better . Just the track hunter is better than all utopia album .
