    I am actually thinking of buying these two (Tapo C210 and C420S2) together, nice to have both on the same video. Great review! Value for money again from TP-Link.
    ps. Bought the C210 first today. :D

    Not a bad camera. I have been using them(the outdoor cam(s)) for a while now. My gripe is that they do not sell spare batteries. But the price is so low that it may be worth it to buy 2 pairs of out door cameras and use 2 or 3 cams to have at least 1 consistently charged battery. The speaker on the hub is much better than the speaker on the cameras as far as alarm goes. Motion detection is super sensitive, but adjustable. But if you adjust it too low you lose some AI person detection (cars become detected as person...). Overall, good buy.

      I live in MI winters get cold here, below zeeo. Id liike something wireless, no subscription, low lag/delay between when sensor picks up the objects and starts to record and sends notification, long battery life, no false alerts/detectioms when leaves blow in the wind etc. I've had Blink outdoor camera's and they were junk on every level. Will these cameras live up to my goals?

    • @GeorgeLangabeer
      @GeorgeLangabeer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @shanew7361 Nope, they sure won’t. You’re going to need a wired NVR system to live up to those standards. WiFi isn’t going to cut it.

    Could you maybe do a video on how you set up, mount, install, and run your indoor homekit cameras? I always find you have them set up really nicely and i'm interested to see how exactly you make it all work. This has been a burning question in my head for a while now. I really like how you have your indoor cameras.

    Have had the outdoor for several months and no issues in Indianapolis weather. One is in direct sunlight so it gets pretty hot. I am waiting for extra batteries to be available so I can cut down on down time. Otherwise, for the money, they are great!

    Great video! I watched your video because I want to get one of these Tapo cameras but I'm struggling to find how the Tapo App installed on a mobile/cellphone is used to view the camera live remotely. I know the camera has to be connected to a local WiFi network and the Tapo App connected to the same WiFi network will work -- but, what if you're at work say 50 miles away and want to monitor one, two or more Tapo cameras? Your phone will use it's mobile data. How does the App then connect to the cameras?

    • @GeorgeLangabeer
      @GeorgeLangabeer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you have these cameras connected to your home WiFi, your phone does not have to be on that same WiFi. You would be able to see these cameras from anywhere in the world as long as your phone has a cellular connection or WiFi connection (doesn’t have to be local).

    Is it a power plugin camera? Will it work while connected to the charging cable? I would like to connect it most of the time to usb charging and use battery when there is a power outage or someone will cut the power. The question is , does it work and how does that power cut impact operations ? Thanks!!

    • @GeorgeLangabeer
      @GeorgeLangabeer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For these cameras that are designed as battery-only cameras, they can be plugged in, but it’s never ideal because of the design. The plugin option is never very weatherproof. So if you want one you can plugin, I’d pick a camera that was designed for that purpose.

    Is the outdoor camera able to continously record to sd card or cloud , or is it only going to start recording based on motion detection ?
    I need to record a problem area about 50 yards away ...a local; problem nuisance area at a nearby intersection. Too far away for short distance motion detection. I need battery and maybe solar power., completely wireless so it can be out by the street and always recording.

    • @GeorgeLangabeer
      @GeorgeLangabeer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re not going to find a wireless option that gets that distance. You’d need a good camera that’s part of a wired NVR system.

    • @GeorgeLangabeer
      @GeorgeLangabeer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can get basic notifications without the cloud. But with the cloud you add their “rich notifications” feature.
      You can watch the live view as long as you need to, but I’d make sure you’re on WiFi if you do.

    I installed C420S2 some months ago...
    Good image quality? Yes, but that's all
    The battery only lasts about twenty days, even with the lowest settings.
    Impossible to buy a spare battery
    Not secure: we cut the power and the hub is out of order and no more monitoring
    A simple rotation of the camera is enough to steal it
    Sound alarm ? LOL You need an amplifier to hear it
    The sound ? very low
    2K? great, but the battery drains
    Very expensive for what it is... And I got fooled
