    I appreciate the in-depth coverage of tiny details - it's not easy to find info like this even once the bike is in your possession. I ordered mine a few hours prior and so was unable to follow the title instructions, but luckily nothing is a deal breaker!

      There are so many ads out there disguised as reviews from people who ride them no more than a week. There needs to be more content from actual owners who put their hard earned money into a product. Their lack of commitment otherwise makes anything they have to say completely irrelevant. So frustrated with all that that I had to change it or at least try.

    I'm 5'7"-5'8" myself so I hear ya, bro. I normally mount my bike with a leg over the saddle but i recently put on a rack that has a basket/milk crate and have to do a step through now. I'm learning' NOT to wear loose fitting jeans with sagging in the crotch area doing this so I recently invested in some biking pants/tights. I'm not a man who easily wears tights but you gotta do what you gotta do. The alternative is me on my back like a turtle next to my tipped over RipRacer because I couldn't get a leg up; or rather I COULD get a leg up but couldn't get a leg back down again. Nice to see you still love your RR.

    I agree with your advice against carrying a passenger on your class 3 ebike. So does the State of Clifornia:
    Class 3: A low speed pedal-assisted electric bicycle equipped with a speedometer, and a motor which provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and ceases to provide assistance when a speed of 28 mph is reached.
    The operator of a Class 3 electric bicycle:
    Must be 16 years old or older.
    Must wear a bicycle safety helmet.
    Must not transport passengers.
    May ride an electric bicycle in a bicycle lane if authorized by local authority or ordinance.

    Great comments. Thanks for thoughts. One key criteria for ebikes that is overlooked somehow by most people, is whether it is 67" or shorter. Ripracer is 62"! 68" is the width of a standard elevator, and there may one day be someone you visit, or work, that has elevator access. Few of the more powerful ebikes are that magic 67" or less.
    I'm hoping you can comment on whether the ripracer being of short length if that makes the handling good or bad relative to your other ebikes.

    • @Funcentric
      @Funcentric  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. I hadn't thought much of the length of the bike. I don't ride these like sports cars. They're just casual rides around the city or to run errands for me at least. I do like the overall compact size of the Rip Racer both for my height as well as maneuvering it in the garage.

    I almost bought the Juiced CrossCurrent X Step-Through, until I saw the Biktrix line. I didn't like the Juiced back rack as my panniers would have curled into the spokes over time and no option for a dual battery. I do like the non-fat tires on the Juiced. I ended up with 3"x 27.5" tires, which I say is still fat tires. I'm surprized that you didn't buy a mid-drive motor ebike as those are suppose to be hill tamers. Hey ! As far as the replacement brakes being sanded down to fit….when you say the width needs altered…. do you really mean the width of the unit or the depth (thickness) of the pad to get the rotors between them? Awesome vids ! Thx

    • @Funcentric
      @Funcentric  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. The width of the the entire pad. Not the depth/thickness of the composite.
      The issue is fitment sliding into the caliper - not fitment around the rotor.
      There are rumors that the green pairs from AliExpress or baby blue ones from Amazon do not need sanding. I have yet to test this myself so cannot say for sure. But those are what people in Facebook are reporting. I may try that next but my current setup is working really well for the past 2k miles or so.

    Awesome review! I also live in SF, and really wanted to get this exact bike or the super73 Miami SE. Like you mentioned, a lot of it depends on use case..which both the 750 motor and 52volt battery, gives me confidence. However, no suspension (hopefully the fat tires remedy that a bit). Do you know of any shops in the bay that carry them? Ive been searching for months.
    Lastly, do you think this will easily go up hills as steep as dolores park (with pedal assist). Thats about as steep as ill go..no California street lol

    • @Funcentric

      Sorry, I haven't had to buy fat tires locally or at all just yet. I'd be buying online and likely stock ones or road ones. I actually don't need them to be offroad myself.
      I haven't tried Delores Park myself but I've take on some steep hills and the Rip Racer does fine up hills w/o a passenger. I'm about 155lbs and maybe 160lbs on a not so good day. I actually prefer the Rip Racer up hills over my geared bike with less power.
