Test ride on a stranger’s Ownboard electric skateboard
Super nice stranger I met today offered me to take his Ownboard electric skateboard for a spin. When I tried to return it a couple minutes later, he insisted I keep going….and going. And so I did.

Best Value small FPV Transmitter?

The BetaFPV Lite radio may be cheaper but is it better value? No. It’s early over priced for what it is. Here’s why. Are you a pincher? Maybe think again about either of these radios.

Does it fit in the car? Can I Bunny Hop? Can I manual? Learning a lot from @Dougsterbob. I’m a proud member of his Bike School.

Can that rear seat be moved forward so that the rear passenger hold onto the barrow bar without leaning forward so muc?
I’ve seen someone do it but I’m not sure if it’s designed that way.
Curious on your thoughts on this bike now? Recommend for someone looking to use for taking kid to school and to local parks?
If range and load capacity is not a huge deal, I would recommend the Aventon Abound as I always have. It caps off at level two meaning it does not go faster than 28 miles an hour which I feel is more than adequate for most people. That is also the legal limit. Most people like the torque sensor that it has, but I do prefer the cadence sensor of the XPedition. When doing research, you will always find people saying that torque sensor is superior to cadence sensor, but it is really a matter of preference. They operate very differently.
is it possible to remove the sound? also you say the charging is for about 2 hours? But you use them lights on always? I want to use then only to indicate the direction
Please see other comment responses regarding the sound. It cannot be turned off. The demo shows the various modes you're asking about.
Deal of the century, just ordered!!! The best part is being able to pair two sets in a single remote!!!
Yes! I'm so happy that is possible!
are these visible in day time ?
Good question. Sorta. If it is super sunny, I don’t bother because it doesn’t stand out that much. If it is overcast, I may turn it on.
Best review I have seen and thank God I saw it before ordering that Plus 1 seat which is the google search I found you with.
10:34 You want it to do an arching motion? Not a straight-up-and-down motion on your seat post. If it kind of doesn't argue motion, they work a lot better.

Haha. Glad you enjoyed it.
Swinging your leg over on a step through. Lmao.
Haha. Yeah. It’s called a step through but isn’t really because I have the aftermarket lock on there. Many people especially males aren’t used to step through design since it was historically a girl feature.
Great vids man, so like we're can I get the glasses from in you thumb nail ?
Aliexpress. You can just type in polarized bike sunglasses and it should show up. $1.79-6.99 or so usd depending on when you buy it.

Fine print and don’t define compatibility based on what you see in TH-cam. You have to see the fine print and website description. If you follow the Facebook group, you’ll see lots of support. Lectric is known for their good customer service.
I would not buy a bike that is 250W
Well that’s just the motor spec. If you overvolted it with a good amount of amps, you could really get that thing spinning.
@@Funcentric I'm not that clever but I do know if you over volt it. Something has got to give.
@@adventcliff2040 motor’s lifespan likely will be reduced. And naturally, the battery will be discharging faster.
@@Funcentric I'm old i need more assistance
Just got mine from Ali Express (paid about $10 each for two sets) and tried them tonight, they are great! Really appreciate the video and the link. One question: Is there any way to turn off the remote? It blinks the last button pressed about every 3 seconds, I can only guess that this will drain the remote tater quickly? But there's nothing in the instructions about turning it off and I tried a bunch of different button presses to no avail. If you can tell me a way to turn it off I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!
Yes! There is a way. The blinking remote tells you it is on stand by mode. You have to press the circle button until the blue light stops blinking. Depending on what mode you are in, you may have to press it multiple times. Yes, when still blinking, it is in standby mode and indeed drains battery.
@@Funcentric Thanks, that worked!
@@stevel8921 Great, glad to hear it.
My ebike helmet is made in Germany by Cratoni. Luv it.
Nice.
Do you have to pair them every time?
no, the only time I repair them is if I charge my 2 pairs and accidentally swap the wrong ones to the wrong bike and am too lazy to swap 'em back. Once paired, it stays paired unless you repair it to another remote.
@@Funcentric perfect! Thank you!!

Glad you appreciate it. I’m probably going to make one about night time riding accessories. I do a bit of that fairly regularly.
bro why the 1 chin hair, it's hard to pay attention lmfao 😭
It’s my style! I alternate sides every week.
I'm not trying to be anal here.... but what you referred to as "caliper bolts" are actually cap screws; they are not bolts. A bolt uses a nut and a open-end wrench or socket to facilitate the tightening and a cap screw utilizes an internal Allen-Hex-Key or Allen Hex Wrench in combination with onboard internal treads or welded or brazed on bosses! To eliminate metal fender noise, use spray on automotive undercoating on inner surface and use nylon washers or what's refereed to as plumber faucet washers at fender mounting points. I would also use a stainless steel washer and lock washer over the nylon or faucet washers to keep connect points snug; excellent video! 👍👍👍❗
Nice clean attractive setup... well done!
Thanks!
NGL..I will be one of the few that will ride it to work ..charge it and ride it back home...crazy thing is it is a 3 amp charger..and 48v 20mah battery..either way this way a great video brother
Yo from London great tips plus vids love it all thanks just had to sub to your channel, please were did get you helmet from with the visor?
It’s called the Bern Hudson. MIPS and NTA8876 ebike rated. There’s are fewer than 10 on the market that have both.
Well for starters it's hard to find people who will work on the electronics part of an ebike. I lived in many big cities and even then it was very hard to find people who will work on the electronics of my ebike. I sold mine and just got a normal commuter.
What if you were just looking for a road bike that could give you some help on the hills/mountain roads? Surely even a 36v hub motor could be fine?
Yes, that’s true. But remember even hen you’ré not looking for assist, you’d be hauling the full weight of both the battery and motor 100% of the time. So very inefficient. You’ll likely have more energy to attack the hills with a bike that didn’t have that extra weight.
Also there’s something called voltage sag which affects smaller batteries much more. A bike with a small motor likely has a small battery and you’ll experience voltage sag a lot more. Basically less sustained power through hills. Haha. So yeah you’ll likely not really want an a bike for that use. The ebike components pretty much cancels itself out.
@@Funcentric I don't know what you mean my voltage sag but a full hub motor system if something like the x20 from mahle only adds 3.9 kg or so i think. Even at 36v the motor's gotta pump out enough power to offset 4kg surely. It seems to be understood that even for very tough climbs it doesn't take much watts of power to offset that kind of weight. If you left it on the lowest assist mode it could still add something for people who have bad knees or something where they can't pedal as hard as they'd like
@@Millicente if that’s the situation, I’d recommend a cadence sensor over a torque sensor. A torque sensor would demand more pressure to be put on the pedal to result in the same level of assist. The higher the ah, the lower the voltage sag. Practically all electric road bikes will have tiny batteries built into the frame. This is a problem not only for long term replacement needs of the battery but voltage sag. Voltage sag basically means that there’s a temporary drop in available voltage while under load. This is much more apparent with smaller ah sized batteries. You’ll experience much better sustained power through a higher ah rated battery. In other words, the design of an electric road bike by nature is much more susceptible to voltage sag which is the weak point in the technology we have currently. My electric cargo bike for instance experienced a very noticeable drop in performance once it goes under about 50% battery capacity and it’s got a 28ah battery.
Unfortunately, this does not work. The voltage of the batteries quickly decreases and the relays no longer have the strength to switch/switch on and off. This happens suddenly and unexpectedly. The fixing rubber bands break - I recommend tritytes,
You can ask for a refund if it broke.
The turn signals need to be maximally charged with 5V at all times to work. Flashing is done on the 5V relays. When the voltage drops to 4V and juz they turn off . Chinese bubble@@Funcentric

@@Funcentric Wish I could, but I am stuck with inbred welfare trash in Idaho currently.
Thanks. Apparently the alarm should be set at 3.7v to maintain long term battery health.
No, storage charge is 3.80v per cell for standard li-ion or lipo and 3.85v for high voltage LiPo.

I hate to say it, but those glasses are photochromic OR polarized BUT NOT both....
They’re slightly both. LCD screens do get somewhat distorted which is a common side effect of polarized lenses. Colors aren’t super vivid like you’d see with brand names ones. The darkening and lightening (photochromic) is very minimal. So indeed they are both which is what’s ridiculous about a $3 pair of glasses. Lens Crafters tried to charge me $700 for those features on a custom frame with prescription (not including the frames themselves. Goes to show how much of a markup we are paying at retailers. Not a secret anymore which is why they’re all dying off at malls.
I just wish it did wheelies..that’s what I don’t get I have both the brushed and brushless but what I don’t get is why they don’t wheelie! Check all the videos on TH-cam and nobody has done wheelies with it..18859a brushless🤷🏽♂️
Yeah the gearing isn’t designed for it. For non stop wheelies even in 2S, look at a MJX product. I have a video on that. It’s my favorite. Came out after this one.
If you leave the lights in standby at all times an only use them as a directional signal is battery in the lights getting drained or do you have to shut off/on each light by its orange button each time you use them
Yup, the latter. Standby indeed means it uses battery.
@@Funcentric thank you

I believe HyperGo and MJX have pretty much the same product. The MJX in this video was $110-117 at the time. Crazy deal.
Work on eride pro ss?
Not sure I understand. These aren't integrated with anything in particular. You could mount it to your backpack if you wanted to.
Great information. What ebike rack (with a ramp) would you recommend. Thanks
I don’t have much experience with bike racks other than a traditional one I owned decades ago and more recently the KAC K4. It has all the features including it being lockable to the hitch and each bike itself is also lockable. Meets the weight requirement for my e-bikes and is expandable from 2 to 3 to 4 bikes. It also can angle out to make clearance for the rear hatch to open. I got a crazy deal when they accidentally priced it wrong for less than 24 hours. Can be expensive at regular pricing though. It does not have a ramp. For a ramp, you’ll likely be getting a motorcycle rack which doesn’t have space for each individual tire. It’s more of just a flat surface with four edges. I believe harbor freight has something but you’ll need to buy a ramp separately.
ok
I’ve seen some great reviews on TH-cam, and I’m thrilled to come across one like this. It covers information that others often overlook, exactly what I hope to see in most reviews.
I wish those were oversights but unfortunately there’s an agenda behind many of the “reviews” you’ve been watching. They’re ads.
How did you pair your turn signals? I’m 75 years young,so please keep it pairing (For Dumies) mode if you would. Thank you young Sir.
I have a separate video with demo and instructions. Probably more clear than what I can type out here.
Couldn’t be more agree. Mjx is amazing car. Great out of the box, but I upgraded the transmitter for a gyro transmitter from dumbo RC. Its no necessary but it made it better. Ordered a 3s battery what I am waiting on. Again plenty of power on 2s. It’s wheelies and everything. But i was gonna get a second battery anyway. Made sense to get a 3s as second. Really good car. Would recommend to anyone in price range. All i would say If you can afford the omni terminator carbon. It is the best in that price range. But that is $250. So it’s like double the price. But u get a much better car for the money IMO.
Sad but true. I bought an E bike for $1,500, but put about $2,300 into it so far with repairs, spare parts and a new battery. I put about just over 5,000 miles on the bike. With gas prices of about $3+ where I live (car gets about 26MPG), it came out to about $600 in savings.😢
Best explanation loose the music tho
Yeah my early videos I was still trying to figure stuff out. No music in recent videos.
