I was not planning on upgrading my phone. But last week my iPhone 14’s battery swelled and the back glass was already cracked (who needs a case right?) so I got the 16 in TEAL. It looks awesome but tbh I wasn’t as excited to get a new phone as I expected…
The camera control is only useful for bringing up the camera quickly but if you want to use it for the camera options using the app regularly is much better
RCS is not enabled for MVNOs like Mint and Boost. Mint's CFO says that this is on Apple's end, they gave the primary carriers preferential treatment which I understand but sucks since we're all using the same 4 networks :(
The way I've explained RCS to people, especially average iPhone people that are not tech people at all is that iOS 18 has RCs support which will make texting Android phones suck less and that has pretty much done the trick. Especially once they do the update and start seeing red receipts and higher quality images and stuff
Regarding the iOS updates, they are no longer automatic for full number updates (17 to 18). You have to manually go into your settings. This is because of how many issues people would have with their apps that didn't prepare for the update (specifically apps needed for jobs)
Really hope airpods 4 with anc fits well in my ears. Not having the silicon buds is gonna make it way more comfortable, starting not hearing your walk steps or running, chewing, etc.
Do you think that non-camera related apps would take advantage from the camera control? I think it could be useful elswhere and wonder, whether if 3rd party camera apps could other 3rd party apps bypass this and use it for something.

With regards to the Apple Watch and unintended digital crown presses, under Watch Orientation in the General settings, you can choose to put the crown on the opposite side. I do this because I found during push-ups or burpies I would constantly be pressing the crown.

I know that I’m being pedantic, but you can’t record pro res footage to a Thunderbolt drive, it has to be non-Thunderbolt. If you plug in a Thunderbolt drive, it will give you an error that Thunderbolt devices aren’t supported.
I think Ellis is right. I remember my first gen APP would cut off loud or sharp noises in transparency mode like the adaptive transparency mode on APP2 does.
For those that have an issue with the Apple Watch crown on their wrist, change the orientation. I wear my watch on my left wrist with the crown in the bottom left-hand corner.
Apple should either just bring the iPhone mini back or ditch the Plus model and simplifying the iPhone lineup: standard, Pro, Max/Ultra. But I really think they should bring the mini back or at least its form factor. Because not only did the 13 mini got lots of love than the Plus model but to me, I think making a modern smartphone small and compact? I can say that is actually innovation.

Most carriers in Canada usually only offer the black with their contracts which is why I think most phones end up as black. In order for us to get colored phones we'd need to order directly from the manufacturer.
