केरल सद्या ओणम थाली Kerala Sadya - Kerala Onam Sadhya Thali with Chef Kunal Kapoor
Sadya (Malayalam: സദ്യ) is a feast of Kerala origin and of importance to all Malayalis, consisting of a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes usually served on a banana leaf in Kerala as lunch. Sadya means banquet in Malayalam. Sadya is typically served as a traditional dish for Onam, the state festival of Kerala, Vishu.A typical Sadya can have about 24-28 dishes served as a single course. In cases where it is a much larger one it can have over 64 or more items, such as the Sadya for Aranmula Boatrace (Valla Sadya). During a traditional Sadya celebration people are seated cross-legged on mats. Food is eaten with the right hand, without cutlery. The fingers are cupped to form a ladle. The main dish is plain boiled rice, served along with other dishes collectively called Kootan (കൂട്ടാന്‍) which include curries like parippu, sambar, rasam, pulisseri and others like kaalan, avial, thoran, olan, pachadi, kichadi, koottukari, erissery, mango pickle, pulinji, naranga achaar (lime pickle), as well as papadam, plantain chips, sharkara upperi, banana, plain curd and buttermilk.

There is a science in the way items are served and placed on the leaf.
The items served from left to right are acidic to alkaline in sequence.
Indian food, all across the has its unique, stories, culture, science in sync with the local climate etc.

    • @nishaonnet

@@starbucksadmin7265 sarcasm is the lowest form of intelligence. To elaborate on my comment: people in in south Kerala might frown upon eating papadam, Pazham and payasam together. Payasam - the ones which have jaggery would be consumed last because they will dominate the palate with their sweetness. But maybe I am wrong, I have only been a Keralite for 4 decades of my life, being born to parents from the south of Kerala and celebrating Onam every year, and someone with no real name and just calling themselves Starbucks Admin can better explain my culture to me by appropriating it. Maybe everyone do have their own traditions within their homes, but the makers are also calling it ‘Onam sadhya’ and not one of the forms of it.

I tried recently sadya meal with lot of expectation but unfortunatly did not like it much reason beieng :
    1) It was 500 rs per head (I found expensive for simple rice and kadhi and quantitiy/quality of sabjis).
    2) Food was not served hot and it was not tasty at all.I like only paysam which come at the end
    3) You dont know what is coming next (because they dont put everything at once), therefore you cant plan your meal.
    4) You need a proper tutorial to before you eat Sadya , that's too difficult for person like me (Khane ko itna difficult mat banao bhai)
    5) As he explained people who serve dont repeat the food items more than once.I really feel food should not serve in that way. I may like some dish and you like something else , if I like some dish and want to reapeat they should serve it, if not done I would end up eating which I dont like.
    6) I did not find any respect from people who were serving , rarher they were lauguning when we weren't able to eat , because it was our first time.
    7) As he mentioned everyone has to eat in same pace 🤔🤨 really?? How is it possible ?? Everyone has diffrent pace of eating We also faced the same problem , because everyone around ate in speed and we were not able to match their speed so could not finish the meal properly (Anyway we did not like it so did not matter for us but koi race thodi na lagi hai bhai aaram se khao , enjoy kar ke, itni jaldi kis baat ki hai)
I had food in many places in India but food which serves with pure love is Rajasthan (I'm not from Rajasthan btw) , they make food and serve with lot of love. My love really increased for Rajasthani's after having this Sadya meal from Kerala, Theek hai for having it once for experiment, nothing great as the they hype it 😏😏😏
