I also discovered him by seeing his name on a plaque on The Strand...it caught my eye bc my two sons bear his names, my oldest Nicholas, youngest Clayton so it made me do a double take. Since then I've paid attention & am an admirer of his work!

I love all of his works Beyond words really. The News Building seems to be my favorite today. I can switch tomorrow. Mr. Anderson has plethora of knowledge, and he succinctly tells a beautiful story . Thank you both.

Mr. Clayton was a wonderful man for Galveston and it is sad how the county government mistreated him into bankruptcy.

P.S. Yes... my face looks weird in the intro and outro... The software I use compresses the video on the final process of production. I will fix soon lol
What is your favorite Nicholas Clayton structure past or present?

Bishop's Palace was the first Nicholas J Clayton building that I fell in love with. This fueled my passion for finding more information about Nicholas and the buildings that he created. Thank you for this look into Nicholas J Clayton and the history of Galveston.
