    Never knew casted pumps exerted these issues. 2JZ motors have this interesting tolerance issue on some motors too. Easiest way to prevent this is to port the opening a bit and knock that sharp brow on the inside down. Polishing the regulator piston might help too but you decrease idle pressure a bit. Good video!

    after 50 odd years working on engines if you had an oil pump problem you checked the pump before washing it,washing the pump can make a stuck relief free up for example

  • @RussellBooth1977
    @RussellBooth1977 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's the first thing I checked when I had noisy hydraulic lifters in my Chevrolet LS1 engine - oil pressure.
    That was to confirm that the oil pump,the crankshaft & camshaft bearings were still good which they were, all I did is threw in a new set of lifters & a new timing chain kit then the engine was all sweet after that,at about 342,500 kilometres, the engine is performing better than it did at 183,000 kilometres when I first bought the car a bit over 10 years ago.
    My brother had to get my cousins husband whose a Subaru mechanic to get the cylinder heads rebuilt in his 2000 model Forester which runs the EJ20 engine in it,he ran it in liquefied propane gas & never adjusted the valve lash on it,he lost compression on a cylinder, the valves & seats also got burned out.
    So for a few thousand $$$s he got the cylinder heads rebuilt with new valves, seats & springs fitted,my cousins partner went through the rest of the engine & resealed it as well as replacing the clutch in it.
    He also advised him to only run it on unleaded fuel but he still runs it on the gas !

      @Ruslan_Subarist 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Проблема легко решаема. Везде где крестовые болтики вкручены в алюминий, со временем происходит реакция между этими металлами. В 90% случаев сорвать эти болтики помогает ударно-поворотная отвёртка. Ей же можно эти болтики вкрутить обратно, если нет динамометрического ключа например. Главное отметить их порядок и положение перед откручиванием. Болтики крышки маслонасоса обязательно нужно вкручивать на анаэробный фиксатор резьбы, я использую синий от американского бренда Permatex. another new international standard, set by a German Master Craftsman. Also here on TH-cam and its many automotive channels... it becomes more and more visible that the good old school German vocational Education system leads to a wide spread excellence ( lovely car) in Craftsmanship
