I just wanted to address one thing that I think came out a bit unclear from the video: I AM NOT UPSET FOR LOSING MY RANK!!! I am well aware that I am currently not Tekken King level (YET!!!);
what I am trying to express in the video is how those ranks are absolutely meaningless, I understand the philosophy of "rank does not matter, be a better player" but this is the MAIN mode in the game and it is a competitive game non the less at every level, and having a grading system which does not represent and values correctly the grades for this kind of game is very bad in my opinion!!!

To all the people in the comments talking about rank doesn’t denote skill, reserve that opinion for when you reach god ranks and you constantly get matched with the best players on their best characters. You think fighting a gold rank player on a sub character in blue ranks is difficult, try fighting said players on their main character.

naw rank can tell you a general most likely skill lvl but u can be better or worse than your rank even in god ranks ppl say there’s huge gap from final rank n 2 or 1 down and for the guy crying in the video if he want to go up he just has to get better he basically dropped a video because he’s upset that people with lower prow have same rank as him and move up before him he should just keep trying to get better n stop focusing on rank if u really wanna reach top rank why complain about the system if ur goal is to be one of the best in the game
Got 170k prowess fujins out here telling ppl rank doesn't matter .. but then again you got people that were ryjin at best in t7 that are now tekken king in t8 cause of the busted system so it is a bit all over the place

First time I made tekken king I got demoted all the back down to battle ruler over the span of a couple of days. And I noticed some other players i spoke to went through the same thing. Every player I came across from fujin to tekken king were roughly the same skill (after gaining high prowess). I have finally adjusted to these good players and made it back to tekken king, I think it has made me a better player but it’s hella demoralising especially when you have friends that are the same blue rank as you but have significantly lower skill than you.
I know I'll eventually make it back as well, what frustrates me is how meaningless this system makes the ranks as it takes any values away from them!
I have never heard that Tekken king drops down to battle ruler. Just seems impossible

Every match is super sweaty. And on top of that you can face pro players taking a hand on their secondary characters which will destroy you with no chance to win.
I have to think twice before pressing any button because each missclick will be fatal and you lose the round. After 3-4 hours of ranking with these guys I have a forehead pain because of focusing and thinking too much.
All that while they're doing things on auto pilot cuz they're probably playing this game for a decade or so.
Same thing happened to me. I dropped 3 ranks because my prowess never dropped, but I had to fight people at minimum 25-50k over me lol. It’s weird to have to fight stronger people than the ones that got you demoted repeatedly.
The point of the system was to protect players who cry about being matched against "smurfs" (usually just higher ranked players trying a new character).
There being two classes at every rank as a result - high/low prowess - is a bit weird.
Ideal situation is to not care about rank 😅

This is the truth. A majority of players are just terrible at the game. Someone smoking you is outplaying you most of the time. Trying to analyze what coloured badge they have, is pointless.
Sweating in shinryu vs 230-250 player gotta be one of the funniest thing I experience in Tekken 8 Ranked daily...

I agree completely with this experience you are having. Since I lost Tekken King I been constantly floating up and down between Raijin and Bushin. It is definitely a different pool of players than when originally coming up. It's almost like when playing in a double elimination format tournament after losing we go to the losers bracket where everyone is trying even harder to get back to the finals/winners bracket. If that makes any sense.
Is way more tense because almost all of the players have tasted the Tekken king and want it back!

I think the issue is that Tekken prowess is too closely tied to the highest achieved rank. It should be more dinamic.

Oh my god, this is the video that entirety shows my situation. I'm in the same boat as your are paddling next to you. I achieved tekken king on leo and got my prowess to 243k and now I'm only playing tekken kings and above. Naturally I went down so fast to fujin but the game has not been the same ever since. I managed to get back to bushin but i dont know if i ever will be able to get my tk rank back. Subscribed
You’ll get there man, it happened to me and took me about 2 weeks to get back to tk. Just hit tekken emperor a few days ago and consistently floating around the lower half, just give it some time.
@@justdis_ thank you for the reassurance mate. This game sometimes makes you hate yourself. I remember when I first encountered the problem touched upon in the video. I started losing against raijins and I was thinking "why do I suck so much, was achiving tk just a huge amount of luck or what", then I started recognising the division.
@@finalozzy yeah I was getting really annoyed because some of my friends were in blues and higher than my rank when they shouldn’t have been but now I’m above them again. My room mate hasn’t hit tekken king yet and is floating around kishin/bushin and when he finally hits it he’s gonna see I wasn’t lying.

well I can not confirm this in my experience... I was in the 150k range and since I promoted to fujin yestereday now in the 180k range.. and while I was in the 150k range.. I was matched with players of 240k alot.. every 2nd to 3rd match in average was a 240k + player... I think the problem is more that alot of people with highranks got demoted lately or playing sub chars now... sometimes on somedays it is even pretty rare to get a player in my prowess range... so I can't say I get matched by prowess
That's true definitely a lot of people got demoted, the real issue starts after this demotion, you will always be paired with the top section of the ranks because of your prowess therefore the rank you are going to experience is going to be a completely different one even being the exact same rank!!

I remember I disagreed last time, but you’re definitely right lol. I got demoted and walled from it by people stronger than the ones that demoted me. Last time I got walled though once I started winning I won 9-10 in a row back to back. It’s like you get used to that level then just upgrade.

They could take in account the actual points of the rank.. that could work!

That would have been the logical conclusion from the start. 🙄 the move executions for every character are so different that you have to learn and practice everytime as soon youre playing another character. And you can be very good with one but suck with another one. Would be different when every character has the same move executions.

I had the same thing happen to me the second I neared Raijin. Suddenly every match I was in was a 200,000 or more Tekken prowess player which led to me being demoted back to Battle Ruler, only everyone still had around 180,000 Tekken Prowess, so I was fighting like it was Fujin rank in Battle Ruler while watching my friend happily progress to Raijin. Then, funnily enough, he got demoted and stuck in the middle of Fujin. It's like climbing a mountain that gets steeper directly relative to how high you are, yet somehow does not level back out when you fall, and instead gets even steeper as you reach the same spot you were already at.
Lowkey, this makes me want to reach Tekken King even more now. Been stuck in Kishin/Bushin for a while now, but haven't hit Tekken King as yet. Knowing there is a large pool of really good and competent players so close is good news to me. I feel like I can start learning a lot more cool stuff from fighting them when it finally does happen

I have been saying this ranked system makes no sense since DAY 1. I genuinely believe this problem is DIRECTLY caused by the BEYOND fucked up ranked point distribution for wins/losses. It makes everyone plateau SUPER early. Never in my life have I played a game with a ranked mode that ACTIVELY punishes you for losing to someone your rank or higher (the expected outcome) and inscentivises you to only try to farm lower ranked players to mitigate point loss.
Finally!!! Someone talking about this problem!!! My issue is that MY rank is not equal to someone else that has the same rank. I watched my friend play and it was 10x easier than my games. It feels very unfair purely because I have to SWEAT my ass off for the same rank that he can achieve while fighting much weaker players.
This happened to me 3 weeks ago, same story as you. After 3 weeks I got to the point I got to play as good as the rest of 230k prowess players, but before that I got demoted to fujin, I was so frustrated that I was on the edge of quitting the game. I'm back to Tekken King-Bushin now but it took a looot to get to the level of the hidden pool in blue rank

I've been demoted from Tekken King with Yoshimitsu earlier this month, and after some few matches, I ran into 2 problems;
1) It was really hard to find a match, up to 20 minutes from times to times, my "pool" was really small, even after changing my matchmaking settings to allow all ranks players
2) It was significantly harder for me to win, even though I got better at the game, meaning that my opponents were stronger, while I was at the same rank, as you described
This is caused by the fact that Tekken prowess are getting up, but not down when you lose (but rank points do) and since it's a variable that's mandatory for the match making, it means that the more you win, the more you're doomed
I've been learning all characters by getting them to mighty ruler, my tekken prowess is above 220k now and my highest all time rank is Fujin. Just to rank up a new character in orange or red ranks I need to fight people who are anywhere from raijin-emperor while my all time best rank is Fujin. How is this fair? I'm currently suffering a severe burn out from the game and am taking a month long break because this is exhausting and frustrating, my win/loss ratio is incredibly low because I'm fighting people that are lightyears above my strongest rank
Every rank up has this now that prowess is the key measure. As I use new characters starting in Tenryu or Shinryu, all my matches are with high level players and gameplay. Fighting ability needs to improve constantly, thats the point. Prowess defines, Rank doesn't.
I 100% agree as well. I originally got Kishin with one character. Then tried to pick up a new character and had to face all the toughest players rising through the ranks because of the Tekken Prowess number. That was the worst stint to get my next character to blue. They need to rework the points system to fix this. More points for higher rank/prowess wins or lose less points to the higher rank/prowess.
Thanks for the insights man you've done a really good job explaining the two "brackets" of blue ranks.
However, one thing I've noticed is if it takes a long time to find an opponent, Tekken gets rid of the prowess requirement, allowing you to meet people of the "easy blue rank bracket". Maybe it could be a good idea to run a few tests? So you hop into ranked, decline about 4 or 5 people and accept your 6th opponent. Whenever I do this, I tend to meet a lot of blue ranksbelow 200k prowess (I'm a 225k Bushin myself).
I agree with you that this current syatem needs a complete overhaul but it could work as a temporary solution for now.

What I noticed is that different prowess matchmaking becomes more common once you are vey far away from your average prowess ranks.
For instance: I have 240k so my reference ranks are blues for main and reds for never used characters. If I get into high purple the system struggles to find someone with +-2 ranks and similar prowess, so it starts to pair you with people on different Prowess.
But as you said there is space for more investigation!
This would actually explain a lot. I barely play Tekken 8 because I simply don't enjoy a lot of the systems and none of my mains is in the game so I'm sitting only at Raijin while learning a new character. I've only played 2 characters, 1 to Battle Ruler and the other to Raijin. My prowess is 190k if I'm not mistaken.
A couple days ago I decided to queue up for ranked at 1am and I was getting a lot of 6% to 18% DC rates, which I declined. I then found a 0% DC rate player and accepted. I got a Jin with 292676 prowess to be exact (I screenshotted it because 99 defense and 97 attack, something I rarely see), at Raijin, his main being Lars at Tekken King. Had the most fun matches in this game. After it was done I got some other high DC rate players and then another 0%. Accepted and it was another Tekken King with High prowess playing a secondary character at Rajin (I don't remember this one's prowess but it was probably 240-250k at the very least).
Most of the time I struggle to find someone my exact rank and end up fighting 2 ranks below me 70% of the time and that day I found 2 players on my exact rank back to back.

yeah I got TG Supreme a month ago, and when I decided to rank up with my secondary Eddy, the blue ranks where abit harder this time.
So Bamco made a rank system that makes it feel like new players are stronger than they actually are and when they get to Tekken King they are now promoted to the real top percent of the playerbase without them knowing. I hate it, but now it explains why playing at blue rank is so boring filled with knowledge checks and flowcharts with zero adaptability. The real blue rank is locked behind people who put effort.
I do feel there is something off with the ranks and matchmaking. This video tells one part of a bigger problem we will discover only by speaking up. Good vid bro

I mean, I said a while ago that blue rank players are severely inflated by how the points and demotions systems operate, and once you get really demoted or you start seeing players who have been there for a while you start to see how this is true. But everyone gets mad when I say it. It sounds super discouraging to hear, but really the blue ranks now are not what they were in tekken 7, especially towards the end.When I got demoted out of TGO, I saw that I had to try harder to get back in, and it goes to show that if youre not constantly climbing, you might not be good enough to go to the next bracket just yet

I think the flaw starts earlier in the system and with the system itself. No points loss until yellow, promo match right after demo(in T7 you return to the middle), less ranks per color. Along with too much control over who you play( one and doning, blocking people and chars you can’t beat). This system overall will allow you to rank up higher then your true skill level and give you a false sense of confidence. Ultimately to get a shocking reality at Tekken king or emperor where you will experience the real skip gap between you and god ranks, get demoted back to blues and now have to face god ranks using a 3rd or fourth character (like me lol). Which leads to unnecessary frustration. So imo , the solution is to revamp the system so that ranks or a more accurate representation of skill. ppl have to think logically tho, if you were nowhere near blue ranks, let alone Tekken king in T7 (especially towards the end) , it is highly unlikely you’ve improved enough to somehow be at a skill several ranks higher and achieve them faster then the previous game. And it is likely that if you do, you did not build the necessary fundamentals needed to advance , which adds to the delusion and shock of hitting the wall. Not trying to be harsh just informative. I personally would like ranked to be a fun and inspiring mode of growth for all skill levels. Not a huge confidence boost and dopamine rush just to crash a burn later on .

Let me explain. I'm a new to Tekken 8. I did not play Tekkens 4-7. I sweated as hell climbing to Fujin. And then boom, I realised I made things much much worse. Being just 150k prowess yesterday now I'm facing guys with 220k crushing me at ease. Then I fell down to TENRYU and still facing 200-220k guys which are literally deleting me.
So, I thought lets try another hero just to improve my fundamentals. And guess what? I'm facing the 220k Garyus now, there is no even a chance to train something with them, I literally cant even do something without training a character in practice mode for like 20-30-50 hours straight.
And I don't even know what to do. This game is not fun anymore. I can't lose my 170k prowess even in Tenryu and I still facing guys from 170-220k pool. I can't play with new character, it has even less sense than with a main now. So I'm pretty frustrated, I thing they have messed up with that ranking system.
Maybe if I faced these 220k guys at least sometimes i would have been prepared better, but now I feel I had one pool yesterday and completely different now. And I cant do anything about it.
I'm experiencing the same issues and anyone who says this is fine has no idea what they are talking about. The way tekken prowess is determined is already heavily flawed, and this being the main way to determine matchmaking is a huge issue. I have no issue fighting tekken king players, but I should be fighting mostly tekken king players when my RANK is tekken king, not when my tekken prowess is increased. It's not even that I'm fighting a lot of tekken players, tekken king is the lowest rank of player anyone who hits tekken king will encounter. You will be fighting tekken emperor, tekken god, and god of destruction players as well. You learn a lot when playing these players but good luck ranking up out of raijin when fighting god of destructions. This system invalidates what the ranks even mean. Tekken prowess shouldn't really determine anything it should just display on your account so people are aware what you've peaked at. Either this or have it decrease on losses. I think tekken prowess matchmaking should be removed altogether it causes many more problems than it fixes.
It hurts players with a big character pool I got a 5 characters to fujin and my main to Raijin then demoted my main to battle ruler and am fighting almost exclusively 240k tekken prowess when Im a Rajin level player having a lot of characters sucks but sometimes I do match a Bushin players with 180k prowess and its hilarious how easy it is compared to battle rulers with 240k prowess rank really means nothing. I am Shinryu, my Tekken prowess is now 110 000, was 115 000 at its best, but I am constantly fighting people with 150, 180, and even 250 000 prowess people. How broken is that? It really feels good when you win against 180k or 250k which is more rare in my case, but man, how am I supposed to get promoted when I am constantly thrown against people who are WAAAAY better than me?
this happened to me before I made it fujin the only thing I can say is just play quick play so you can learn each character ( it took a while yeah but it will be worth it in the end )
@@soudhamad6359 play quick is very good if you don't take it as a rank but really as a training match and try the punishing strings and your own style defense ect best way to get better
I find that one you get demoted it's easier to get promoted. Like if you lose fujin rank then get promoted back to fujin. You get more points and easier wins. And the cycle continues. I feel like the rank system is designed to force you to get better.
From blue ranks onwards you lose more points than you gain and it becomes way more punitive!

Yes exactly. The tekken 7 players all hit tekken king rank and the good T7 players move on to higher ranks while the not so good ones demote to blue and farm the newer players. Spot on

Played several characters yet (because i want to play with all so i switch as soon its not longer fun anymore and the time to progress further isnt worth it for me!) and i always have the problem to get out of the red ranks. Never had much problems in shinryu and then suddenly i get so many lose streaks for a while which dont feel normal and sometimes i even get demoted to orange ranks. After a time i again have no problems, just losing a few fights. And i often wonder how its possible some players got higher ranks than me unless they are plugging or something like that because i won easily against them. I often lose interest because i get aggressive and angry and its always a up and down with the progess till i quit and play the next character. (Their move executions is too different and it takes a while to learn a new one-every time you switch you have to relearn it) Its just a waste of time for me because its so much harder to progress further and as i said its an up and down for me. Its like hitting the wall and i end up about a 46% winrate and about 150 to 200 fights w each character.

i have 2 tekken kings and 5 fujins but somehow getting to fujin with a secondary now is as hard as getting to tekken king originally (256k prowess)

This happens even in red and purple ranks. I’m leveling up a third character after getting one to ruler and the other being hardstuck tenryu for 200 matches, and I’m matching vs smurfs all the time
Like real talk-this is the hardest garyu's ever been for me. The smurfs I've gone up against are where ranked is going. These people realized that if you want to play more than one character in ranked, it has to be one character per account. Why the hell am I going up against players who are at nearly 100 games with >90% winrate on their character to promo out of orange ranks?
I for one thing actually like the prowess matchmaking. I got to Tekken King with Kaz and got demoted a few times to Bushin then I started navigating between Bushin and Kishin because hell everybody is very strong. But ! Isn't that what we want ? We're supposed to experience higher level Tekken at Tekken King and this system provides us with a way to keep that alive by making us fight people that will (at least on paper ) have the dame skill as us. I'm now sitting comfortably at in mid Tekken King but I can only sustain that because I'm not matching up with people that are less skilled. This way gives proper training and makes us play better, isn't that what we want? To hell with our rank if we're not fighting well it means nothing. I for one am all for it.
Dude i thought i was the only one experiencing this, i got to Bushin with Victor and dropped all the way to Raijin and Ive been stuck in the purgatory for about a week now. I definitely think i can get back there after putting the time in but holy shit its been so difficult (and the nerfs didnt help)😂
Yea man I have been struggling. I couldn’t find a character so my prowess is much higher than an average blue rank. I got to Fujin easily and now I feel that rank is pointless

I am not a really good player so i got my main to kishin and i am happy with that. Now i started with another chara and can barely get out of fujin because every 2nd opponent has over 230k poweress. I mean of course we have a quitting problem in game when you throw these monsters again and again against ppl who might just picked up the game.

The waiting time increase is something else that I did not even mention but definitely there!!!
The problem I face in high rank is I never get matched up with similar ranks always 3-4 lower ranks then me. I grind out 5-6 games worth of points and when I do face a similar ranked person and lose I lose all the points I gained lol. I wish they changed the system for ranking so you only fight people at your rank or above if your in high ranks😢
Ranked is super broken and lots of people are cheating. Everybody is Flow charting its out of control. They really think using flow charts is skill. 🤣😂🤣😂
I was in battle king, and decided to switch controllers. Went down 5 ranks while I was getting used to the controller and just recently got back to purple. Today I fought a GARYU level player with 178,000 prowess points and got demolished. It's not just a blue rank issue, it's everywhere. When I was garyu I think my tekken prowess was like 90,000.
i am same. I got to tekken king after grinding for months. My prowess jumped from 190k to 230k instantly and now i got demoted to raijin and barely came back up to kishin. I get people with 250k ant 280k against me who are much much stronger its insane. Im slowly getting better and grinding back up but its very very demoralizing. Basically rank names don't mean nothing now, its a grind for prowess and matchmaking only based on prowess. To stop being confused I just covered the parts of the screen where there is a rank of the opponent with sticky tape, so i don't get psychologically pressured into underestimating my opponent. For PC there should be even a mod for hiding oppenents ranks.
Having the option to keep prowess and rank hidden would be actually great!

ive got a bunch of characters to garyu and my prowess is inflated to so im in flame ruler and i only fight blue ranks.
in my case i purchased the game this past days and i started climbing so fast that it looked so weird, then i reached shinryu and the shit started going wild , only fighting raijin and fujin , finding one match in 15min . i'm just hardstuck cuz i'm fighting blue ranks and i'm only a red rank here
I experience the same, the dudes are so strong in blue after tekken king.
The devs did this knee jerk Prowess based matchmaking reaction because of the Eddy DLC. Everyone ranked up Eddy, and for some reason started at beginning so they beat up on all the casuals. Now that the casuals have left, the players who stayed are getting screwed. The ranked system needs a massive overhaul.
Im a tekken bushin with lili. Im playing with paul now and its even hard to get him out of purple because im playing all 200k players regardless of the rank. I understand i wouldn't want to play nothing but tekken gods once i reach tekken king
Ive been getting matched up with people not even in my same color rank more than people in my actual ranks. Im kishin facing battle rulers constantly
Bro i have never been tekken king but i did rank up multiple character so now my tekken prowess is over 200k and i cant rank up because i keep getting queud up with player with really high tekken prowess
I hear what you are saying, but it kind of makes sense this way. If you made it to Tekkem King and got demoted you are not the same level of blue rank as the people who just made it to Blue. I’m raijin now, but I have been bouncing up and down through purple and blue. It feels like every time I pick up the controller I’ll rank down and right back up. When they match me against lower tekken prowess blues or purples, it’s not a fair fight. So even though we might have the same rank because I have been back-and-forth on my rank for such a long time my skill is much higher than than someone who just got to the rank
If the prowess was not involved in this matchmaking the actual blue ranks you would find would be around the same skill level, like this your rank means nothing until you look at the prowess. This is for me the main problem, a 240k fujin different from a 200k bushin
this matchmaking is legit so unrewarding my main was raijin and the i played my second to fujin and since then my prowes is kida inflated 216k at raijin today i went down to almsot flame ruler again and matching 220k-280k player a non stop even quick match almost only tekken kings and getting my third char out of red ranks is like 10 times harder then hitting blue for the first time
I don't really like the prowess thing cause it's stopped me going to sub characters as quickly cause I'd have to actually fully learn them to compete with the other GoDs on their sub characters in blue ranks. I also just don't like how it restricts your player pool in terms of the matchmaking cause it means you see more of the same people over and over.
I didn't like this at first but now I think it's better I'm tekken king and it's hard to keep so I demo and promote every day now What is annoying is that your 2nd or 3rd char must be reasonably good and you can no longer fuck around in lower ranks instead of learning a char 1 hour you really have to take your time
Problem it’s even worse, I got 2 characters to fujin and few other to ruler ranks and my powers jumped to about 2100 after that a started getting matched with about 2400 - 27000 tekken kings playing only. I have never even reach tekken king and I’m playing only this guys now witch is ridiculous
I’m only 80 k prowess but in T7 I was high blue ranks. But I’m not getting matched with 200k prowess and I want to get matched with those guys so I can keep learning but the game won’t let me anyway I’m playing sf6 for now I’ll come back to tekken when they fix this.
Also notice that when you derank almost you lose nothing of tekken prowless
To hear that people who rank up to tekken king are facing a big spike in difficult matches against really good players only after reaching the rank is making me shake in my boots.
Im already experiencing it after reaching fujin. On the way there, i thougjt it was weird i wasnt facing any blue ranks, but once i hit fujin and my prowess jumps up, i am finally facing blue players.
And this difficulty spike is kicking my butt. And to know it will happen again is crazy. Every new plateau and im wondering how much better can these people get.
That's still the easy pool of blue ranks 😂
@@cbimz Guh, don't remind me. I reached the stage where I can't get better until I practice. Like ten to twenty minutes a day punishment and throwbreaking practice.

lol, this is not a problem, but scoring is. I am Tekken Emperor and I lose to God of Destruction, I LOSE 1400 points. I win the next 2 games - I gain 1200 points. So I win the set against 3 ranks higher player and I lose a total of 200 points? Like that is that?

Once you get a rank, you fight in that rank level even if demoted 3 rank lower. You could go down to mighty ruler and need to beat tekken kings constantly to promote to flame ruler 😂🎉
It’s also a ton of Tekken king/emperor/god ranked players who are using secondary or tertiary characters. So you’re still fighting a high level player at fujin if you hit Tekken king, and they’re not using their main. But the fundamentals are still gold ranks level, which is the case for EVERY gold rank player using their secondary. It’s a war zone. I’m raijin with Devil jin, Tekken King with kazuya. But with devil jin, I’m fighting only players using their secondaries who have Tekken gods as their mains. It’s exhausting. There’s simply zero chill matches in blue ranks at that level, and that’s just… frustrating? Weird? I don’t know the word, but I don’t like it.
Yesterday as an experiment I set the parameters to "preferred +-3" instead of "+-2" on a battle ruler character he got paired twice in a row with a Tekken God, I really don't enjoy being so salty about things but seeing this problem massively ignored is not good! (little edit, I lost full point in every match!) BTW love your content!!
Buff Guy, what you're saying here in your response is that you yourself is doing exactly what you're finding frustrating. You have a main that is Tekken King and your secondary character is Fujin. Your competition has mains that are Tekken King/Tekken God (which is 2 ranks above tekken king) and they are doing the same exact thing. Can't really be mad about it.
@@UltimateJace426 what exactly did I say I was “doing” in my response? I only stated that the players I’m fighting are Tekken gods even with my raijin characters due to the prowess match making the devs implemented in one of the recent patches. So what did I say I was doing exactly?

But you're literally in the same category of players you're saying that's causing your frustration. Meaning if you were to face another player who is a legit Fujin...well you're main character or other character at the least is a Tekken King and thus has that level of skill and base knowledge.
The exact thing happened to me. I play Bryan, and I got tekken king then I demoted to Raijin. Now I'm kishin, but it so freaking hard and frustrating
That's because you don't belong in gold rank. I face players like you everyday. T8 is full of inflated ranks, and a lot of blues and up have NO business being there. You reach that level, get skill gapped, and demoted.

seems like you are complaining to me 3:57. Only thing I dislike about the higher prowess is nonrank matches have become an actually tough battle now where i can lose regularly even if i want to have a lil fun on a character that is in the low red rankings, i am still getting blue rank opponents somehow.
I don't get what you're complaining about? the matchmaking system matches you against players of your skill level like it should, and even if you derank you can keep playing against good players and improving instead of having to go back to playing against worse players.
Im In blue ranks and my alts In red ranks I can’t even get pushed passed shinryu.
I made secondary accounts to play alts and i blow thru the ranks up to the ruler ranks. Make it make sense bamco.
Well I was Fujin with 170k prowess and somehow ended up at mighty ruler again but with 180k tekken prowess
Real. Im new to tekken no in this game at first i played different characters and ranked them before deciding a main.
So i have more tekken prowless than the average, well when i hitted fujin it was a grind but i could sit in fujin fairly good, like it was my rank, kater i continued ranking up other characters and levelimg my tekken prowless. Well now is like i only play against people that his rank is higher than me and are using another characters. Every match iis like a boss batlle and now i derankto fm mighty ruler. Nos km climbing purple ranks in a completely way before, im only playing against pro raijins or against a occasional fujin that i demoliah now. But well the thing is that its true that the tekken prowless make you play against 2 kind of different players in the same rabk, whivh makes the rank have no sense in itself

is staying there
so imo u are not a "tekken king" until u played a couple of matches

Sono all'incirca nella tua stessa situazione e concordo con te. Qualche settimana fa ho raggiunto Tekken Emperor ma poi sono sceso fino a Kishin e ora sono bloccato a Bushin, ed è frustrante la situazione perché non so più a che rank considerarmi e a questo punto ciò che si dice "Il rank non conta" è più vero che mai.
A questo punto l'unica soluzione che vedo è fare un matchmaking solo in base al rank, così che il rank possa effettivamente essere un minimo una misura per determinare quanto una persona è brava, almeno sulla carta.
Lascerei comunque rank differenti per i vari personaggi, con un secondo personaggio non sono bravo come che con il mio main, quindi non avrebbe senso averli allo stesso rank a prescindere.
In conclusione sì, il ranking system va sistemato.
I completely agree with what you said, a rank only based matchmaking would skimmed and divide the people in their skills already, you could use the prowess as a factor to change the point value of the match
Assumption:
1. Tekken prowess doesnt drop
2. Demoted from x rank = have x rank and currently play secondaries
3. Only fight ppl with same prowess

fight all the blue rank monster right in the beginning and never got tk first
Problem:
might fight ppl who got demoted from tg or are tg playing secondaries in blue rank
Solution:
1. Tekken prowess can drop
2. Demoted from x rank /= have x rank and are playing secondaries
3. Less strict prowess match making
Its odd compared to tekken 7. If you try hard and rank up make sure your ready accross the board. I got to Raijin then all characters were at garyu. However when i play now i am facing Raijin level prowess from other players and its so hars now to even get to shinryu with new characters.

Yup, previous ranked was better, it encouraged you to try ranking up and learning new characters because you aren't dropped straight into hell. Now i just stick to my main in ranked, but I'd prefer to experiment with other characters
It simply means that for people who are playing only one of two characters, the real metric is not rank but their prowess. Rank doesn't exactly mean much due to prowess matchmaking. I don't think it's necessarily that bad cuz it saves new players a lot of frustration as they won't have to play against players way above them who are on their alts. As for the minority in tekken king and above, yeah i guess the rankings are messed up but until they figure out a fair solution. It is what it is.

This is facts i just wish they never gate kept us from these players before we hit Tekken King so we could get used to fighting these mfs. They also nerfed hwo and I'm struggling with both things, I've gone from TK to fujin in 3-4 days im soo frustrated and annoyed ive worked my arse of to get to TK 😅😞
In my opinion the ranked system is bs because when i was in the red ranks i was get Tking Temperor and above etc, and be losing 400 to 500 points now I'm in fujin and it's still bs

Tbh while it is technically unfair, it’s not like other games where the ranked system is based on engagement where players of better or weaker skill level can be high ranks without really improving but you don’t actually progressively play better players but you play people of the same skill level all the time. Those games aren’t about skill. If you can beat people in Tekken you even if prowess is higher you do know that you’re really good and if you don’t the game didn’t screw you over you just need to focus on improving small pieces at a time and eventually providing your enjoying the game you’ll get better.
But yet the ranks are left without meaning, this is the main mode in the game and the fact that the matchmaking system is so poor is very bad imo. If people would be paired by their rank you would not have the blend of different skill level in the same one and the division would be natural.
it's really dumb in many ways, I'm stuck in a lower rank than my main because I dared lose 2-3 sets and then more than half the opponents I'm facing are not ass ranks even though mine is,
if you say I shouldn't be matching worse players and bullying them, first off this is my main character, secondly there is a reason alts have a lower rank as you are expected to perform worse with them, but that aside then let me beat them and rank up and get to where I should be around players of my own skill level.
Currently I am matching players of close enough level but it's taking way longer AND our rank is lower, the rank points system is dumb as shit where I don't gain more and lose less when fighting players of higher rank, and prowess isn't taken into account at all. it's just so stupid and ass backwards, just fucking copy chess elo system and call it a day, it would be many times better.

Maybe they could keep this system but applicate only in 50% of the total matches, this would slow down a lot smurfs and still give a breath of air to the players.

@@TheGianGame in the situations that the prowless doesn't match the rank, for example, in 10 ranked matches the system could put you 5 matches against similar ranks without considering the prowless and 5 matches against similar prowless number.
Additionally, the system could analyse your win rate against the 5 matches of the same prowless, if you have low success against the high prowless oponents, the system could drop a considerable amount of prowless points of the player (like, increase the multiplier or something), so he can stand a chance against REAL blue ranks.

Bro I went on like 2 30 game win streaks in the early ranks and my rank isn’t that high and my prowess isn’t that high but the game only puts me against 200k+…….. MY PROWESS IS 119k WHY AM I GETTING MATCHED WITH TEKKEN KINGS, GODS, GoDS WHEN IM NOT EVEN PURPLE😂 and even when I play my side characters I get 180-200+ I legit can’t even learn another character now bc I keep getting people who are basically just optimizing at this point. And if I do happen to find a lower ranked player it’s always some dude on his Smurf still with 200+ prowess.
Yup ever since i got tekken king its been hell... i only face people that a ten time better than me...if i knew this would happen i wouldn't of ranked tekken king. On quick matches i like to play everone Not everyone that's extremely high level. This is complete hell....

Fighting just as hard in red ranks as I do at Tekken King feels bad. My sub character will never rank up.
I think a bigger issue is having the same matchmaking in quick match, so you don't even get the chance to practice properly online
Now im scared af from getting demoted from Tekken King hahaha. I got demoted to Bushin once and got back to Tekken King. Maybe I'll take a break
It's possible to make a come back, but it will be very hard, I got demoted 4 times from Tking. It was miserable getting it back for the 5th time.
@@CountChokcula this system also punishes you for playing multiple characters then, cuz your Tekken prowess will go up with each high ranking character you have.
I guess that's actually a good thing to brag about for people who wanna get a bunch of max rank characters
