Hello mate, Have the exact issue and had the exact same thoughts on it, pressed seal back in and it popped straight back out. That seal is acctualy only the wipper seal to keep the dirt out and the pressure seal is the yellow part in your kit and it sits in beneath the bearing. Therefore it will always build pressure behind the whipper and continue to pop it out and leak untill the pressure seal is replaced.
Yes if that pressure seal is bad that’s what happens, This was mostly just showing how to put the seal in, I did a video after that where I showed the cause of that. If you tear one completely apart be careful with the edges on the rotor assembly, they can be razor sharp
@@outherebear you have to take them apart, I did a video on a complete rebuild 5 or 6 weeks ago I believe and that was to replace the high pressure seal mostly. It’s not hard

@@smalltownmachineshop6860 Sir, I cant tell you how much your video helped me rebuild that pump. I completed it last night, and was able to get this Dixie Chopper pulling again! I appreciate you! I was out at 10pm riding through my subdivision on a DC!
There is a high pressure seal behind it yes, the seal usually goes bad from stuff getting between the hub and the seal, when the main seal goes it’s usually from people trying to tow other mowers and stuff like that
When they get hot it usually means there worn because the heat is Caused from hydraulic fluid leaking by, some wheel motors you can get the individual parts for but they are getting hard to find so I would be in favor or replacing it.
@@smalltownmachineshop6860 I haven't taken it apart it, it's leaking towards the outside, near the wheel mount. I'm guessing it's the main seal on the shaft

Easy, quick solution as that part was painful for me to watch as well. Flat driver in head of pin(as you already had at one time) then tap the thin shaft of the driver with a hammer..even stubborn cotter pins come out quick. The rest of your video was helpful.Thx!
@@smalltownmachineshop6860 thank you, I just blew the internal seal at 570 hours on a cubcadet tank m60, I was going up a steep hill mowing very slow because it was tall grass, and it lost power in the left motor, and when I got it on the trailer it was puking oil, got the hub off and seen the dust seal laying there, reinstalled it and when I went to run it again it pushed it back out, so I guess it’s the high pressure internal seal, but I can’t seem to find a kit until now, again thank you!

Hi ,
Happy new year!
It's a good video, what is the part number of this seals kit?
And do you have any idea how much it will cost?
Kind regards

I just towed something with my Dixie chopper. Blew the seal but now it seems to be holding. Wonder if I should roll with it or change it.
I’d watch it, it probably damaged the internal high pressure seal, but I have seen them leak than stop
@@smalltownmachineshop6860 is that the seal you changed or would I need further disassembly?

Yes because it’s probably leaking past the high pressure seal just enough to pop the outer seal

Word of advice. Leave the axle nut on so when it pops loose it catches it. So it does not catch your face.
Good idea, I typically do so I can also give it a tap if needed
If that seal pops is there not a high pressure seal that blew inside causing that outside seal to blow?
There is a high pressure seal behind it yes, the seal usually goes bad from stuff getting between the hub and the seal, when the main seal goes it’s usually from people trying to tow other mowers and stuff like that
