Thanks for this video. I am a huge Paloma Picasso fan. It’s so sultry yet playful. Every single note in it just works for me: no cloying tuberose, for example. Magir Noire I’ve wanted to try forever. Now I have to add Halston to the list. Diva I’m not entirely sure I would love but open.
Gosh! You've taken me down memory lane. Paloma! Diva! Magie Noir! Opium! Cinnabar! Youth Dew! Oscar de la Renta! I didn't think people wore these divine heady scents anymore. Another favourite is Lagerfeld. Yes, the men's fragrance. Donna Summer was everything. Thank you for this.
This just came across my TH-cam feed today.I have to say I have been wearing Paloma Picasso for almost 40 years.I try other things and I always go back to it. And I get a ton of compliments on it. When I heard it was no longer in production, I bought four big bottles l o l
I love Paloma Picasso as well as Halston. So I thought I would mention two others I like alot that have that sexy smell. Youth Dew and Knowing both by Estee Lauder.
@@MaryGraceFahrun and their is also a very nice one Avon had believe it or not, Soi Rouge. I am not sure if they make it anymore. It was when I was alot younger I am 49now
I love your review, and especially how you characterized (bewitching and Dark Goddess) Paloma Picasso and Magie Noire, which I used in '80s and '90s and still love it. Thank you for an amazing review.
My fragrances are my pleasures and my potions 🌻 EXACTLY why Spirit lead me to this page. I just ordered Paloma Picasso EDT and EDP because she called me... I look forward to the experiences we will share. Thank you for sharing your review and collection. I appreciate the information and energy. New Subscriber 🌱🌿🍃
I used to wear Halston all the time in my younger years. I didn’t know it was still available. I’ll have to check it out and see if I can get a bottle. It smells soo good.
Halston was my first designer fragrance! I worked at a law firm and would walk during my lunch hour. There was a very fancy ladies' store 4 blocks from my office, and that's where I bought it. I STILL wear it and have a bottle on my vanity! I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear it.
Love this videos, Mary-Grace! As for your question: My favourite scent when I want to evoke the inner Dark Goddess energy or witchy energy is by far Dior "Poison". What beautiful deep rich fragrance this is!
I ordered a Halston... I smelled it in a Walgreens and immediately fell in love. What does this say about me lol? I'm a 32 year old gal that has fallen into the vintage perfume rabbit hole lol. Thank you for sharing.
I saw Paloma Picasso on sale at Costco here in Toronto for $69.99. The box gave me Vintage vibes. My mother wore a few Chprye perfumes when I was growing up. PP wasn’t one of them though. I was curious and had to check some reviews on TH-cam. I love Fragrantica ❤️
Thank you so much for the video, It was very helpful. I grew up wearing a lot of fruity and light fragrances but once I blind bought Lou Lou Cacharel and Calvin Klein Obsession I have become addicted to dark fragrances. Just bought Tabu Dana and next hopefully Magie Noire. ❤️
I love all things vintage especially perfumes and scents, so I had to try this! I was a bit skeptical but damn it blew me away! It’s one of the best things I’ve ever smelled! Literally smells like a party under the nose. It transported me back to my childhood growing up in the 80s, can’t quite describe how or why but it literally took me back to a different time. Absolutely divine. I know what I’ll be wearing to the club from now on!
You nailed it with the Halston Atlanta's version of Studio 54 was called the Limelight. And back in the day when you walked in all you smelled was Halston! Myself included ha ha
I freakin love hearing you talk about perfumes. I actually found some tiny bottles at my mums that would be a good 10 plus years old... I’ll email you a pic and if any mean anything to you I’ll send them over 💖 There is NOTHING wrong with you having back-ups beautiful Grace... please, please, please don’t overthink that and it’s NOT harmful to you my Beautiful friend 😘
Hello my beautiful Jen! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I did at one time experience an extremely unhealthy compulsion to stockpile my most favourite fragrance. I have been wearing it since I received a little bottle from a secret Santa in grade 5. It was the best present I ever received as a child. It is my comfort scent and one that everyone (especially my children) associates with me. On the plus side, it's a good thing I grabbed what I could afford off eBay because I still have some. I don't think it's the stockpiling of stuff that is harmful. The headspace that made me fear living without it, was. I look forward to seeing the pic you send me! xoxo
oh, i love this. i never thought of wearing perfume in this way. we all think about using oils, but that's perfume! brilliant. i remember my mother letting me have ysl opium when i was a kid. someone gave it to her and she let me have it. i wore opium for 25 years. now i wear light blue by d&g. the citrus makes so much sense. i haven't been wearing it because i wore perfume for others and my guy doesn't really notice. you have opened my mind to wearing perfume for myself! thank you for this video.
I completely agree with the something rotten. I love the smell of my beehives in the middle of the summer. They smell like beeswax and honey and warm woods resins propolis and rotten meat. It sounds insane I know. The meat smell comes from all of the larvae inside. It's heady it's great if it was in a bottle I would wear it everyday. It's just something at the end that makes it even more earthy and real. Also I wear a lot of these opium type scents. People have told me that they smell like a grandmother I highly disagree. I'm 35. They smell sexy.
Ugh, I hate when young women -because it is mainly them that say it, say "smell like grandmother". The oldies are DAMN sexy. Thank you for watching and sharing. Your beehives sound like they smell amazing. xo
Thank you, I loved this. Must check out Paloma and Diva - I've been looking for a great rose perfume for awhile now. Although I love the idea of Chypre fragrances, they are often too overwhelming for me, especially to wear in Bermuda's climate (hot and humid) they can make me sneeze . I always end of purchasing gourmands, or something citrusy and herbacious like a fougere, or totally watery and unisex like an eau fraiche. But I mostly wear scented oils to be honest - sandalwood, rose, lavender and vanilla are my favs - actually I love amber too. I will certainly be checking out all of these fragrances though, so fun & fascinating hearing you describe them.
This was wonderful! I have always been fascinated by fragrance but never experimented with different scents other than my favorite 4. My signature fragrance is Nina Ricci L'Air Du Temps. Love this and would never be without a bottle I consider this my out for an evening or special event fragrance or if I need to feel confident big meeting ect I would wear this. I always get compliments when I wear it. 2. Evening in Paris because of my mom although not quite the same as the original it is still a lovely fragrance. Its is described as a rich floral perfume with fruit-forward top notes of bergamot, apricot, peach, green notes and violet; middle (heart) notes of rosa damascena, jasmine, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, and lily of the valley; and base notes of amber, musk, sandalwood, and vanilla. To me she is the Goddess Niamh because it is a romantic and a passionate scent. 3. Coach- This is usually my Mothers day present if I am not low on my Nina Ricci love this scent and I would consider my runner up signature fragrance another one I always get asked what I am wearing. 4. Este Lauder Beautiful I consider an everyday fragrance for me Love it. Now I also have a range of Dollar store colognes that are knock off's of designer fragrances and these I will put on if I am running errands and hanging around the house. These believe it or not I get compliments on as well. They do not last very long at all but for a dollar I can't complain. I am intrigued by the ones you have shared and I am considering of trying some of them. Thanks again!
I really enjoyed this! Lol ... I absolutely loved your descriptions! Had me laughing! LOL .. love me some Donna Summer sooo I guess I may like Halston.. I dont know why I cant recall the scent.. I definitely remember the Halston cologne that I do NOT like ... soo hmm I dunno if they are similar .. I’ll have to go around looking for and sniffing all of these 😜.. ok I’m rambling now ...thank you again! 💜💜💜
Loved this! The cool bottles along with the notes and 'skank' lol! I dont think these would mix with my chemistry....everything smells sweet & sickly on me. I hate powdery, vanilla, sweet or over fruity scents. I long for woody herby, musky that lasts long. Yet to find one that sits well on my skin. Will have a hunt of Fragrantia 🖤
Sancista Brujo Louis just did a spiritual fragrance video too, you probably are already subscribed to him, but if not, check him out because you both use smell to key into spirits. I'm loving your content :)
Oh I saw where you were going with the old lady perfume 😉😂 When it comes to perfume I enjoy spraying some on at the counter and go on my way. La Feminine - a French perfume I have not been able to find recently, but I will check on-line. Don't think they make it anymore. But... this is a damn sexy, a bit skank, perfume. Men who stood by me would breathe it in and tell me how sexy it is. Honestly, it had a bit of clean woman scent, if you get my drift. Thanks for this interesting video.
