    Absolutely love my G8 & G9. I am relatively new to paint correcting. I played around with it 20+ years ago and within the past couple of years (retired with more time) I've gotten back into it. The craft has changed allot from the equipment to the chemicals. This video has opened my eyes to additional uses for my G8. I really like the idea of trying my hand at polishing chrome with it. Thanks for another great video!

    Picked up the G8 and G9; both worked flawlessly to correct the paint on my wife's 2012 Subaru Legacy. G9 was used on larger sections (hood, roof, trunk lid, upper doors, etc.) while the G8 was used on the lower part of the doors, door pillars, bumpers, and smaller areas throughout. I have the Adam's Nano polisher, but that has a ton of gear noise and it gets extremely warm after using it to frame out the area around door handles and tight contours where the G8 couldn't fit; I didn't try the 2" adapter. I used BOSS orange and yellow pads with Fast Correcting and Perfecting creams as a 2 step. My G9 has a louder jet engine whine to it; my G8 sounds similar to yours. For the price, I think these two are hard to beat... however, the jury is still out on the Adam's.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adams did not create any polisher from the ground up, nothing innovative or different just slapped their name on an existing unit like most companies do., big difference and glad you like your G8 and G9 units there a total bargain for the quality and performance. best nano is the Rupes Nano using it with the plug in module i use it almost every day.

      @@autofanaticcars Exactly right and spot on comments with the Griots; completely redesigned their older models. I think Adam's rushed their micro by only rebranding; it's obviously just a color change with an Adam's sticker around the neck. Fingers crossed that Griot's comes out with a nano as I can't justify the cost of the Rupes Nano; I'm just a weekend warrior that will only use it a few times throughout the year. Thanks for the videos... keep 'em coming, especially those about your Alfa's.

    It should have included a spring for the trigger lock button for the G9. I guess after around 25 hours or so, the the lock button and tension spring popped out and I had to unplug the thing to shut it off. Couldn't find the spring anywhere. Kinda pisses a man off even if the thing is only priced at $150.00. However I must mention it was made in China. Next one will be German made.

    Ive been looking a lot at polishers and have no experience, but need to start paint correcting my motorcycles, and want to start working towards Ceramic coatings and getting away from Carnauba wax. This unit appeals to me for the bikes (for paint correction prior to Ceramic coatings) because it came with both 3 and 2 inch backing plates. They also have a pro kit that includes a 1" pad. Do you think this would be a great way to go for a DIY guy doing bikes and trim work on other vehicles?

And vise versa can I get the g8 and put a larger backing plate and pad like a 5"? The wrx definitely has some angles that would benefit from a smaller pad but I just can't get both the g8 and g9.

    Totally agree on all you have pointed out. I would have put even more emphasis on the variable trigger as you can feather it to spread and then ramp it to full to work your product. Also, at the current price I feel it is a steal.
    The 3M Pefect-it compound is a body shop safe, what you see is what you get compound. No fillers to temporarily mask actual result. When used with a rotary as intended the results are as good as anything. The biggest difference is time to results. This line is meant to knock out vehicles fast in the body shop. Don’t use the 3M white on molded plastics because it cuts too much too fast. In general the clear on today’s molded plastics is too thin. Nice way to say cheap 🤣. Just wanted to throw some caution and some perspective on where 3M Pefect-it comes from. Nice to see an old school body shop product get some attention.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah the 3M products are awesome i have been using them for 30 years and the new line up is great for speed and execution. i was shocked how awesome it worked with this small machine, small orbit for sanding scratches, perfection in seconds. One thing i also like about the 3M stuff is they are not greasy after you do a panel like most of the other products which makes it tough to see your work.

      @kevinduran6517 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally think swapping out a machine that's meant to have a 5 inch plate with the 15mm throw to a 3 inch plate is not a good idea. That throw would be too much for such a small plate and making the machine really unbalanced. I'm new to the paint correction world and to the DA Polishers but that's just what I think. I'm not s professional by any means.

    Hello, I bought it the g9 and the g8 and bought two machines of each one and both you press it, it stagnates and slows the rotation of the baking plate, I am talking about the g8, in speed 6, you have to take it very straight so that it does not slow down , on the other hand porter cable 7424 (only 450w) but with excellent torque and being so old I climb on top of the machine with a lot of pressure and force and the avocado never stops turning or orbits it, which achieves a better cut, the weird thing is that this g8 has a lot of power (700w) (but no torque) but why does something new have little torque ??? On the other hand, the mini 3-inch rupes with only 500w of power, never stop by pressing hard to cut, this is rare, what is your opinion about it? Greetings from Argentina, greetings
