@@gadgehack6261 Mexico Colombia Honduras the Philippines Malaysia Indonesia (where he is) Thailand Vietnam Laos Cambodia are all relatively inexpensive places to live, Thailand has the best infrastructure without having to live in a big city imo and the Philippines is fairly easy to adapt because most people speak English if that is your native language, and the retirement visa and work visa is fairly easy to get.
I think I’m gonna start cleaning the fish in the water now too. I haven’t done it before mainly because I don’t want eels following me( if you’ve ever been chased by a moray eel you know what I’m talking about) im diving. But, if it’ll cut down my chores when I get home from a dive, I’m in.

They steal and mess up your fish, they will chase you if you piss them off, and they can climb up out of the water and get you while you clean fish on the rocks.

I used to fish when younger, in the south coast of central Cuba, only so few small shark seems like white tips and others I could not tell because there various species near the coral reef, and a lot of brown and yellow spotted moray eels. Also never got trouble with the moray, but barracudas a couple of times with small sharks. But never knew morays could be that nasty.

In Hawaii we eat a lot of small reef fish and on one of my first dives with my pops I was in a little cave shooting a bunch of fish we call ʻāholehole ( flag tail? They’re small silver fish) and while I was shooting I felt something slither over my leg and then under arm. The damn eel crawled over and under me to take a fish off my spear. Hahaha ask any of these Hawaii guys and I’m sure they have similar stories. They’re not all bad. I just don’t like em much.
I absolutely envy this mans courage to leave a well paid job in a City behind and move to a tropical fishing paradise. Wondering how he’s keeping in touch with his family, though. As someone who has gone spearfishing, do it! It's actually super fun and you feel good knowing that it's better than commercial fishing. Just make sure to use the fish!

I've only been charter fishing for salmon. But they always cut the fish on the way back. Feeding the guts to the flock of gulls that follow.
