- Today I was fortunate to spend about 30 minutes with Dr. Martin Seif, a psychologist specializing in anxiety disorders. Dr. Seif and I talked about intrusive, obsessive, and unwanted thoughts. What are they? How do they become so troublesome? How should we approach this problem?

i love how respectful Drew is when speaking with his guests, despite the fact they cut him off in mid sentences.truly a great teacher
Thank you Harold. Dr. Seif gets a little leeway. He's contributed so much to this field. ;-)
Therapists need to understand this and be able to explain this to patients.
I really read the book of martin seif, its really good and it works it explains all what's happening on your mind, that thought is just a thought, it comes back but don't fight it seriously don't, your just gonna make the fire more and now im listening to this because it comes back and im willing to deal with this again
What’s the book called
This is probably exactly what I needed. Dr. Seif confirmed everything I've been feeling. Thank you so much!!!
You are not your thoughts.. The mind is a thought generating machine. You can't stop your thoughts, or stop a thought with another thought. Anxiety which is biological or a sensitized nervous system tells the brain I'm in danger, and generates these catastrophic thoughts which feed the anxiety, so I've learned is to allow the attack, sit with it, accept and don't run or do something to try get rid of it... Peace.. Excellent podcast thank you. Check out Claire Weekes the genius on anxiety..
This is excellent content, thanks!
This video is fantastic
This is exactly how I feel, the symptoms cause anxiety. I also get thoughts about bad things possibly happening to my family and they cause anxiety too
yeah, thoughts are not things. thoughts are...thoughts
What is the music at the end of the podcast please? Great podcast content btw 👍
