Amazing. Thanks for sharing. i'm sure i'm gonna learn these moves. At one time i was on a slope , i saw a guy spinning around on a snowboard doing 180s , 360s, 540, 720s, and so on, i was speechless. Well after a few falls i managed to master those moves , now i'm spinning around till i get dizzy , of course without falling down. People like you motivate me. I didn't had an instructor , i learned from here..yes youtube , snowboard pro camp , snowboard addiction , etc. You guys motivate me to do more. Thank you for that. God bless. Keep it up.

I focused on carving regular and switch, pressing into nose and tail (regular/switch), and the 4 180s at slow speeds first! The butter combos come naturally when the fundamentals are good!

Hi Ryan! I really preferred your video format a couple of years ago: 2 to 3 minutes, just you riding wonderfully and giving tips with a bit of slow motions. The format was perfect for watching on the chairlift on the way to some great buttering! 5-6 min is quite long and there is a lot of talking and less demo. This is personal but I feel that if I express myself others may share this view. Thanks anyway for all the good tips these past years! I really improved my riding thanks to you 👍😁👌🏂

3 boys, 5, 7, 10 loved it and didn’t want to share. We didn’t adjust the bindings because they’re not the easiest to adjust, especially with gloves/cold hands so it could’ve been a little tighter for the youngest and looser for the oldest but they still had a great time and it held up well for our first time.

Flat land has been around before rail and boxes and I understand the progression on to boxes and rails and jumps without a doubt but there's something about buttering that just seems more smooth like I said I understand hitting a rail but there just something so smooth and steezy about buttering down a hill . I'm almost 40 so I'm from the older generation boarder camber and that's all we had was flatland tricks. people still definitely know how to carve now but it's not as good as they used to be some riders now seem to learn just enough to move on to the park but buttering is a skill on its own and it feels fantastic and it looks SAF

In my experience it's easier to do butters/presses on a shorter board. I have 160cm and 162cm boards but when I tested my friend's 155cm it was ten times easier.

I’ve spent some time searching but can you give a rundown of your gear? Board, bindings, boots? From there I can figure out the stiffness you are going with. You seem to have a tremendous amount of mobility for what I’d be guessing is a stiff setup

Hi Ryan could you do a vid on your thoughts about counter-rotation? I’m just one of those who increase the NR on the hill, but have been taught to keep the body aligned with the board. I do realize it’s important as a beginner to maintain your body alignment to help with balance. Also do you think it’s a good idea to master the basic turns first (with regular stance +switch) before getting into carving? Thanks!

Your board looks short and very flexible.
I’m very heavy 210 lbs 5’10” i have a “freestyle” 157 cm K2 board and it does not flex that much when I do butters and ollies

I use to do some 360 buttering versions long before I could ride switch well... But for alot of them, especially any versions of 180's, being comfortable on your edges switch is ideal. ❄️🏂❄️
