Great watch Michael the Kawasaki zeds where my dream bike back in those days and now I still have a soft spot ,the closest I got was a Z650 which was a great bike but just could not run to the 900 and funnily enough it is still the case 😉some really interesting bikes there maybe I'll get down there next year to see the auction it would be good fun looking around all those classics .Many thanks 👍
Thank you ! Always good to hear from you . I liked my Z650 but didn't have it long . I got a job in a Honda shop and funnily enough they wanted me to run a Honda ..😂
Hey Michael one thumb way up on this one lol I find that the best part of these auctions are the walks down memory lane. Thank you for yours. Couple things that sparked mine was 1975 I was a sophomore in school. Best times in mhop. Had a rich friend that got a Pontiac Firebird that year for his birthday. It was black with the gold eagle. Wrecked it 1/2 mile down the road from my house. lol The little mini's my friend and I would ride them(in grade school) behind his house try jumps on them. Broke everything off them and ruined shocks, tires. His dad was the best fixing the bikes for us. I can still remember him laughing about our madness. Miss him terribly.
Always great to hear from you Leigh . A lifetime of bikes and an auction always triggers memories- Walking around I remember things I haven’t thought about for years 👍
Wonderful Michael. Loved watching that video. Amazing what some of these motorcycles sold for. Very interesting, thanks for the brilliant commentary and your own personal stories too.
@@michaelmam Quite a lot to talk about when you see so many classic machines in one place. I was waiting for you to tell us which one you bought…..😉 alas it wasn’t to be.
Another good video Michael, thanks 👍🏼 I've been keeping an eye on Z1s for sale and it seems there are very few 'British' ones. Like you, I immediately notice the reflectors on the forks and rear suspension as the obvious tell tale sign of an import, but didn't know about the strap on the seat. I had a blue 1975 Z1B (when I was 18 😆) so am attracted to them and was interested to see that one you looked at here. It seems that excellent condition imports are going for about £20k, somewhat different from the £1,249 they were new in 1975, but mint 'British' ones are like hens teeth!
Thanks Brian . A lot of the British ones didn’t survive our salted roads and of course there were a lot more sold in America. That Z1B was a nice one .👍
Really enjoyed the video! It did not appear that you have any of the classic aircooled bikes in your garage (previous video). Or do you have them in another garage?
I have sold my Z1000 . Had fun but for me , time to move on . A friend wants me to make a video on his Z900 so will be out on one again in the new year 👍
Blimey Michael you are a motorcycling encyclopaedia how do you remember all this information? Thank you for uploading, very interesting video. Nice camera work!
Great video, Michael! Thanks for swinging by. See you at MCN London in Feb?
