My wife and I have done 4 Avalon cruises using both the state rooms on deck 1 and Panorama rooms on the other decks. Actually, we prefer the staterooms. We just used the staterooms to sleep, bathe, and change clothes. The rest of the time, we were in the lounges, on the skydeck enjoying the scenery or off the ship exploring. Also when moored along another ship or the pier there was a lot more privacy. We have thoroughly enjoyed Avalon’s cruises and they are our preferred river cruise line.

I agree!! Avalon is definitely my favorite - I have tried Uniworld and Amadeus, but Avalon reins the best!! :)

Great commentary, however given your trip is post summer you haven’t mentioned anything about the river levels and if that has impacted on the cruise
