When you do not have a Presidium, one way to tell glass from gem is look carefully at the facet cuts. Real gems will have very clear, sharp edges. Glass will have softer, slightly rounded edges as it is usually molded, not cut. The animal on the old spoon is either an Elk or a Reindeer, you can tell by the antlers, so possibly Scandinavian.
What a wonderful box. The best I have seen in any kind of goodwill boxes. You must of gotten someone’s Victorian jewelry collection. I cannot wait for the rest. This is the first time I have viewed you. Will be back. ❤❤❤
I do not have one on vintage jewelry cleaning- I do have one on cleaning Tiffany silver! But that would be a great video idea. I do know there are some good ones on youtube from other creators though. ❤️
@LittleBlueJewelryBox yes if u Google wedding spoons Scandinavian you can see examples! It is sterling a d highly collectable. I have 2 spoons at home here!!!!!
@@LittleBlueJewelryBoxThe spoon is a Sámi spoon, the Sámi are the indigenous peoples of the Nordic countries. If you google traditional Sámi art you will find this very distinctive style. Often raindeer are depicted, they have been a big part of their culture as they have been a nomadic people keeping and travelling/moving with raindeer. :) (Probably add silver spoon to your search for more specific images.) Oh, and the little "Mickey Mouse-shaped" symbol is a Swedish quality stamp called the "cat's foot symbol". It's three crowns, the Swedish National Coat of Arms (if Google translated that well). It guarantees the quality of the material and is usually accompanied by an "S" for silver (normally 830 or 925) "P" for platinum or a stamp for carat weight in gold. If you also see a stamp with a letter followed by a number that is a stamp for which year it was made. ☺️
A viewer of mine on my channel told me to check out your videos. I’m so glad she did. I am always learning and I’m excited to learn from you. The person who told me to check out your videos is Debra and I’m grateful to her for telling me about you. 🙂
@@LittleBlueJewelryBox There are two tridents at opposite corners, which leads to it being Neptune, King of the Sea. Bit of a mixed godling going on because I didn't know Neptune was like a Green Man. Very lovely piece. It might be arts and crafts rather than Nouveau. Jason Adams is a chap to watch, he is slowly showing his incredible collections, he also appraises jewelry and many other things.
Wow, what a great haul! So many treasures. The pin with the 830 silver mark is really cool, probably early 1900s. I was wondering if the bee trembler might be a hat decoration? Can't wait to see part 2!
The silver pin with the blue stone looks Norwegian. 830 silver is common over here in Scandinavia, maybe in all the Nordic countries, and garnet jewellery was also really common here. :)
I have really enjoyed your videos. This is a wonderful collection!!! I really love the Victorian, Art Nouveau jewelry. I have started collecting some of these pieces and it is so much fun. Can't wait to see Part 2. How do you find these Goodwill jewelry lots? Thank you.
Thank you so much!! Sounds like we have that in common.😊 I found this lot on ShopGoodwill. It has daily online auction style listings for jewelry items/ lots of items that have been donated. I’ve been lucky to find some great pieces that way. Thanks for watching!❤️❤️❤️
Silver 830 says Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway). The coat of arms at the end of the video is *very interesting* as it shows the "Lion and the sun" of the Iranian Qajar dynasty, but the whole remains unknown. The two birds flanking each side should be simurghs. Please keep us updated.
Thank you!! I went back to look this bracelet up but in all the images online the helmet seems to be missing. So I was second guessing it. Appreciate the confirmation! Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️
I wish it was!! After looking further I believe it actually says E. B. & Co. It isn’t testing as gold with 10k acid- but might be gold filled. I am not 100% sure. Would have been and awesome score if it was Tiffany. Thank you for watching!
The two bar brooches at 17:30 would not have been worn as pendants, the rings on the back were for hanging small ornaments such as a locket, a bow or a pearl drop. Occasionally the locket would contain the hair of a dead child . . . Victorians were rather morbid like that.
Thank you!! That makes so much sense. I have a few mourning and hair jewelry pieces - I kind of appreciate the morbid side of victorian pieces lol. Thanks for the helpful info and for watching! ❤️❤️
Another viewer mentioned that too! I did take a second look and I think it’s just the way the metalwork is done. I can’t find an actual mark on the bee unfortunately! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Hi! You can email me at Lgc089@yahoo.com if you'd like to make an offer on something! I am happy to let you know if I am keeping or selling it. Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️
Lots of interesting pieces there! I also find your voice soft and enjoyable to listen to. 😀 Looking forward to the next video
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️

The reindeer brooch with the rings is from Scandinavia. It is a wedding spoon which was made into your brooch. Circa 1900ish
Ohh it is a reindeer!! Not a moose lol. Thank you!! How interesting- appreciate the info. Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️

Wow! Wonderful lot. The bails on some of the pins could have been to hang watches or lockets from.
Thank you!! I hadn't considered that- how interesting. Thanks for watching! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you!! I think so too. Thanks for watching.❤️❤️❤️
Amazing haul!!🤩 That Neptune brooch is epic!

The brooch with the face in the corner might be Neptune or Poseidon because of the tridents in the opposite corners.
