For the people complaining about the audience carrying on... What, you would have preferred they set themselves up in a soundproof studio so you could hear every nuance of the playing? Look, this was *not* a serious concert. It was three people *having fun with their violins* and more importantly, having fun with the audience.
Creating connections is the whole idea of music. In ancient times, it was creating connections with the gods, or God. Today, its about connecting listeners to each other and listeners to the creator and performers.

i remember when some snobby commenters were saying hilary fell off because she was “hula hooping on stage with youtubers” meanwhile she has entered her prime and is killing it. it’s almost like you can be a world class virtuoso and still be humble and do fun things. like it doesn’t take anything away from you to be relatable and fun when your skill level speaks for itself. mystery and un-approachability can be a successful ploy but she doesn’t need to be aloof and act “too good” because she’s still gonna be the best in the world whether she hula hoops on stage or plays a dignified concert for the pope.
I can't believe some people dared criticised Hilary for doing this! 😡 Maybe they weren't happy about her associating with TwoSet, since most "snobs", as you say, look down on them, considering they're only clowns.
I'm tired of these people who want to keep things exactly the same as they were 200 years ago. They don't seem to realize that it's their attitude that deter people from classical music. Brett, Eddy and Hilary are a breath of fresh air and probably one of the reasons classical will still be around 30 years from now.

There's been an ongoing, assumed association between classical music, classical musicians, upper class social elites and snobbery. One not of that circle (or being around one not of that circle) was frowned on the circle. It's carried on for who knows how long. However, most of those musicians probably aren't upper class elites themselves and the tendency is to forget they are artists with a craft, but people first (because of said association). People like to have fun, enjoy time with others (generally speaking). They want to share their love for that craft with everyone else. I remember watching a documentary on Hilary several years ago. She came across as enthusiastic about what she does. While her talent was honed with hard work and dedication into a wonderful skill apart from the masses, she seemed quite either unaware or uncaring of that separation. In short, she seemed grounded by her talent instead of self-elevated. That attitude shows here and in others like TwoSet. Modern media has changed that age old perception. People don't see classical music/musicians as stuffy tuxedos anymore. They see people, talented, but regular people who like the same things we like. They see Hilary Hahn, Ray Chen, Chloe Chua in an element that's not a concert, an interview etc. having regular fun. Videos like this don't demean classical music. They make it more accessible and relatable to people. I don't know if we'll every truly understand the impact TwoSet has had on the growth of interest in classical music in the modern information era.

I actually think the precise reverse. To be a truly great musician and play the music well, you must take a selfless attitude about yourself into it. Only then can you let the music speak for itself. Hilary absolutely nails that side of it.. and it is why she is such a fantastic performer. She doesn't want to make a mark about her.. she wants the music to do all the talking. Just a cosmic talent.
My teacher thought it was a good idea for me to watch this video probably thinking it would motivate me with my practice. Sure did, I'm so good at hula hoop now.

So much to love about this. 2 Set has brought great music to a new generation, Hillary Hahn is cheered like a rock star by an obviously young audience, and everybody is having a blast. It is just beautiful.
That is probably the reason Hahn agrees to collabs with Twoset (aside from the fact the she seems to like them).

@@Lieutenant_Dude well... I'm not an expert, but I believe there're also some slight anatomical differences in the bone and joint structure in the hip and pelvis area, so it might be a bit easier for her to spin the hoop without it affecting her upper body that much. Plus, more experience, yes.

I first heard Hilary's playing in the soundtrack of The Village, and without knowing anything about her, had to find out who she was because I thought her playing was so stirring. Now I see that she not only has amazing soul, but is a fun person besides. What better way than this to make Classical music exciting and accessible, and introduce it to more people. Bravo!

(my mum used to get worried about how I wasn't producing much sound; teacher told her that kids who talk loud naturally play loud. look at Hilary's interviews both now and in childhood, and you'll see that she's by no means a quiet, shy person! in fact, as a kid I'd almost say she was a bit hyperactive.)

I love how this shows people that violinists don’t always take themselves seriously. At least- if this popped up in their recommended for no reason whatsoever (because if they knew Twoset or Hilary Hahn, they’d think otherwise).
It’s beautiful how their character can be so sweet, or fun even, and have their playing be strong and powerful. Love it when people think that classical musicians take themselves too seriously but are proved wrong with anything.
I sat in front of the screen with the widest smile across my face for the whole duration of the video. I don't usually get this glued to anything let alone be this much glad that I watched it.

You would better say Hilary's is the opposite to Twoset's. If you see Hilary's Ling Ling workout video, you would notice she's getting it rotating counterclockwise.
