It is NOT made of the PC/ABS. Top cover is GFRP or CFRP (screen type dependant) while the rest of it is made of aluminium/magnesium alloy. Awesome, is it not?
When you were unboxing it I thought my phone was on mute so I turned it up really loud. Then you started talking in the next scene and it scared the heck out of me. xD I feel dumb now. Anyways GREAT video
@@deadblast2340 So far -- employees who switched from the x280 to the t480 like the T480 better. It comes down to how they use it. If the battery is running low they don't have to plug in, they just swap batteries. Good for the folks who work mostly away from their desks. The x280s we have are loved by folks who don't work too much away from their desks.
Thank you for the information we are editing of our phone for my sons TH-cam channel we are trying to get into a window laptop it's hard to choose the best laptop on a budget ! Have any advice
Is 2024; and I just got this for $148 USD from ebay (no charger, but i have a 65w usb C, so thats ok) This will be my "travel laptop" 🎉 Im more than happy with my choice.
I like the touchscreens on laptops because you can put the laptop down on your chest while lying down and swipe through videos on TH-cam or anything else that require much typing, having to use the keyboard or touch pad in that situation gives me cramped hands.
Can you please recommend me I am getting X280 with touchpad 3 buttons are not working for $135 rest laptop seems ok T480 touch for $180 wverythibg working which one would you recommend going for
the FN Ctrl Key swap can be made in BIOS (for a long time) Vantage has this in a while - but i don't like it a bit (Updates work way faster on Lenovo System Update). Also Touch on a Laptop is popular, but i can't stand it from a productivity standpoint, and would not spend a single Cent for it. - also X280
true with the hard configuration within BIOS. and I was surprise with the performance of the x280. I would get this for an upgrade from my macbook air.
Sorry for the late reply, why did your school make you purchase this laptop specifically? And if you’re still using it, how has it held up after 2 years?
@@dailybantam Well I stopped using it around a year ago because overtime there were a lot of problems with it, although it says that its hard to break, the laptop's screen overtime has started to have black spots on it. The specs of this laptop is not good enough considering the price. So I wouldn't suggest buying it for long terms
I am buying this Thinkpad x280 in 2024 and would like to experience if indeed it’s really that AWESOME!
Using coins as a measurement device is useless for international viewers.
Centimetres are a myth over there
Use the metric system, period.
Americans will use anything except the metric system
Ah yes, the standardized coin measurement system lol
lol first 20 second has no audio i though the video is broken

That happens to me too..
Same here!
We tried to deploy a few these to our employees. Management changed their mind about it -- no bridge battery. We'll be going with the T480 instead.
how is the T480 so far ?

If only the bezels could be thinner
Well done review, and nicely shot!
Thank you I appreciate the feedback.

I'm in the same boat 😎
This or t480 touch?
The x280 I am getting toucpad buttobs are nit working but its alot cheaper
Why do they still keep the bloody 16:9 aspect ratio on these types of laptop.
Fair review. Would it make much difference to usable hours if the screen was not a touch version? Could one get about 7 hours or more?
Hi, which editing program are you using?
during my testing on this machine i was able to use Premiere, Resolve and Camstaia as my video editing software.
@@bjtechnewshd Thanks bro, is this a paid editing program? Need a good edting program for my own channel.

How about degrading to x270?
Well done and good job.
Swipe fingerprint? U think its not swipe. It touch..
Does the model with IR Camera will not have fingerprint reader?
On the MacBook you can charge your computer with any of the usb c’s. Can you do that with this computer?
Yes, you definitely can charge the x280 thru USB-C!
2012 called wants its bezels back. Amazing that $300 laptops now have full 1920x1080 IPS displays but somehow lenovo cant manage it at a decent price.
This makes a great business laptop, for video editing I stick to the mac.
Does it have back light keyboard
YES, backlight keyboard can be activated by control+space, i have the i7 8650U non touch 16gb ram, refurbished.

Can the USB-C port beside the dock be used with regular USB-C cable or do I need a dock?
Yes, you definitely can regularly use the USB-C port!
why the hell does he use american coins as his measurements
Because he is American?
the dual channel memory makes the gpu faster

It's an ultraportable laptop, what do you need more than 16GB of RAM for?
You can never have enough RAM and CPU power.
i was sales engineer. 16 gb was barely enough to run multiple virtual machines as part of a demo setup.
OMG comment #1
thought i muted my pc lol
Lol - it’s a surprise type video. Surprise! Your audio works.
Oh I forget 6 year ago is just 2018😂 I thought it would be like 2012
haw fresh ram
What i did to lower the temp and increase battery is to undervolt my thinkpad e470 -0.100v is the sweet spot for e470.
Cmon man..
I guess this dude doesn't own a tape measure.
not part of the TH-cam budget 😂
No Ethernet port = No buy ! I dont want to use a dongle.
actually I used dongle with 3 usb A ports expansion and it is great
red45935 i have a L380 and will never use a dongle
Look at that disgusting thick bezzel... My thinkpad x61s from 13 years ago looks so much better. WTF is wrong with lenovo...
No one cares about bezels?
Lmao performance and build quality matters
