I had an INCREDIBLE Italian teacher once, and then she ran off to the other side of the world 😇

That can really be a bummer. Like when you have been taking classes with a perfect teacher for you, and then, suddenly, they can't give you classes any more

Extremely helpful! I am right now taking trial lessons like crazy on Verbling in order to find 2 teachers I can continue with and you convinced me that I have to listen to my guts and not being manipulated by smiles and false hopes.

This video was really helpful. You opened my eyes in that, I used to have really high prices for trial lessons (I teach on italki) so that students would immediately book a one hour lesson, but now that you told why trial lessons are useful, I feel like I should make them more affordable. Thanks for that. Also, I really appreciate what you said about feeling tensed with the teacher. I learned chinese and now korean on italki and once in a while, I came across teachers who I just didn't vibe with and I felt bad leaving them hanging. But now I understand that it is the best thing for me. Thanks a lot.

I only came across your videos this past weekend and found them engaging when you spoke entirely in Italian as my goal is to improve my Italian. In the past, pre-Corona, I had a German language teacher that came to my home once a week. The program was structured, she was easy to get along with and was fun to talk with, therefore I enjoyed it and learned a lot. I have not tried an online instructor as I am not a fan of virtual meetings I do enough of those during work and I hate them. I am scheduled to go to Italy next week and know that my Italian language skills are not where they should be, because of the limited time that I devoted to my Italian since the last time there...(May 2022).

I teach on Italki now, teaching English. I agree with you on the trial lesson, get a chance to see how they teach, and also by the end, yes one should feel relaxed enough to work with them. I enjoy working with high level B1 or above students.
