    The Battle With Calvinism.

What was the decisive cause of your faith in Christ?
The Calvinist says "The cause of my faith was Christ."
The Arminian says "The cause of my faith in Christ was myself." There's way more to it than that (Depravity,Election,Atonement,New birth, perseverance, naming faith, etc), but the original question definitely identifies who is who. Both believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I don't believe either have lost salvation because of it.

@@The_Lord_has_it RC says you are born again then you are able to believe (have faith). The Bible ALWAYS Says just the opposite. Who should we believe?

I'm not sure i get what you're saying. It wouldn't make sense to be born again before believing. I can't imagine RC (or anyone for that matter) thinking that. You can give me a source video if you want but regardless, however one arrives at a saving faith in christ shouldn't risk their salvation. If one believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. That he died on the cross taking on our sin and rose from the grave, are you righteous enough to say all calvinists,or all Armenians or all roman catholics or all protestants are lost? Lastly, I could probably find issue with just about every teacher I've listened to. I try to compare to scripture (like a berean). If I stopped listening to any teacher because of it, i would probably listen to none of them while relying on only my understanding of the books in the bible without ever hearing multiple teachers interpretations. I would rather hear what many say and compare to scripture myself as there is something to learn from everyone. I find it interesting that every pastor out there has a number of people who appear to have some personal gripe with them and try to completely discredit them as heretics. @@mrnoedahl

@@The_Lord_has_it I agree with your last statement. Too many people call a preacher a heretic because they might have one or two difference of opinion. I am not saying that of RC. I have listened to RC and his buddy JMac for many many years. I am 62. And I do agree with the 99% of the time; but when they, or anyone, says something that goes directly against scripture I refuse to follow their teachings on that particular topic.
Calvinism is wrong. Arminianism is wrong. Because neither one is supported by all of scripture. They both have their favorite scripture to support them. And yet both can also be refuted with scripture.
Here he is staying regeneration (born again) comes before faith.

The reason for a person's faith cannot be themselves.
The Bible tells us that we were enemies of Christ. We were dead in our sins. It tells us that there are no one that seeks after God. There are none that that is good.
John 6:44 says that non one can come to God unless He draws them. It also says in John chapter 1 that God gives us the power to become the children of God. This tells us that if one has faith in Christ, then God has to draw you first, and gives that person the power, or the faith, to believe and to become a person who is adopted into the family.
No one can do that apart from God.
God alone gets the glory. To say the person has the faith themselves and decides themselves to believe gives the person the glory and not God.
