Peltier module, the voltage generated across the terminals is directly proportional to the temperature difference between two sides of the module, so we can get more voltage if one side is hot and another side is cooler

Well, this video is a bit controversial in my opinion. The amount of energy required to heat the sand with energy loss does not make it worthy enough to produce that electricity. Maybe the battery concept is useful, but I would suspect that one has to think about Renewable energy sources such as Solar or alternately atomic energy to make this battery work properly.
I guess that someone in Finland had a lot of time and energy (pun intended) to try out experiments like this, but I suspect that this is not practical! Maybe this concept may become useful in some other scenario! Strictly my opinion!
Atomic energy reactor is the best solution of all.
You're correct if this about heating the sand. In natural thermal active zones like Finland, you can use existing heat sourced in the nature and you are just harnessing existing energy.
In Finland they are using Sand to store the energy generated by Solar.. and sand is not used to generate energy!!

The amount of energy required to heat sand will be more than the energy it generates. Heat cannot be maintained for king time during winter. But still a good invention

yeah, portable refrigerator is made using that device, but to use thermo electric generator, the efficiency is very low, standard peltier device when used in generating purpose , yield only 15 to 20 % electrical power generated because of lower efficiency. i tried to make a different stuff out of it although
