How to Finish Wood w/ Owatrol Products - Wood Finishing a Live Edge Table Top

- One of the oldest, and still one of the best wood finishing products for both indoor and outdoor projects are finishing oils because they revitalize the wood, enhance the look, are long-lasting and require a minimum amount of maintenance and restoration efforts. In this video, I am using Owatrol's Teak Olje (teak oil) to finish my live edge table top, and experimenting in rejuvenating parts of old western red cedar wood stain lawn chair with Textrol to see how well it can restore the wood finish.

Sounds like a good product. But looks like might be a little hard to get here in Canada. Amazon prices are pretty high and Order out of the USA. But shipping cost would be too high.

Thanks for yet again another good video! I live is the U.S. and I have used Owatrol's Deks Olje #1 and #2 on my all wood drift boat and it's a wonderful finish! Really brought life back into my 27 year old boat!

I have been using Owatrol D1 and D2 now for 10 years at my boat and in the garden. I am still satisfied with its results. However, I see that Epifanes and Le Tonkinois seem to create similar brilliant results on other boats. I stick to owatrol though as I am used to its apply method.
I have a question about the live edge slab. How long do you have to wait after it is cut to use it?
Just ordered some of the Teak Olje from Amazon. Love that finish. It's a reasonable price as well. Recommend you should have included a link in your description to include the Owatrol web site and/or include the products on your Amazon store site.

Thanks a lot for such a great video! Is this finish for inside or outside or both? If the wood is still really solid, a pressure washer is the fastest/easiest way to get most of the gunk off. If the wood is soft though (or you're a mad man with the washer) you can do more harm than good! After that only light sanding or scraping is needed to prep the wood surface. For some things (deck rails come to mind) you can go straight from washing to finish - just expect a lot of finish to soak in.
