Playing Zenbeats app from day one and MV-1 for two months already, but never connected them together yet :) Verselab is self sufficient that much. Though integration with Zenbeats and designing patches on bigger VST were extra exciting decision making factors to get it. Hope Zenbeats will also allow midi editing and desktop to access MV-1 patch on the fly, without copying to SD card. Hope it’s just a beginning for Verselab integration features. Massively sounding patch Gabe!
Hi Gabe ive been menu diving along with the manual. On page 27 you can change PROBABILITY. ( MTE ). Also when you hook up a midi keyboard you need to choose the midi channel for each track your working with. Shut off Quantizing and you should get a one for one feel in your playing
I had the MC-101 but having to actually TURN ON my computer to edit patches was a PITA, being able to scuplt them in Zenbeats on my iPadPro makes this look like a WINNER. May have to grab one once they back in stock at Sweetwater. Can you save Presets you change in Zenbeats to the MV-1 SDcard somehow either thru Zenbeats app or directly on the MV1? Thanks man
Studio needs and revenue had change a lot between the mv8800 days and today. These days were the huge miximg console (and protools) days vs twitch/youtube/tiktok actual days. Not gonna happen sadly…
First of all, thanks for the great content and sharing your experiences with us! It is highly appreciated! Now that you've used it for a while, when would you reach for the Verselab vs. using the Circuit Tracks, and vice-versa? I'm a bit worried about the workflow in the MV-1, has all the menu diving slowed your music creating process or gotten in the way of your creativity in any way?
I know the MPC One is probably a better value but I really like the looks of this thing in conjunction w Zenbeats in iPad. It just speaks to me more . Thanks for this .
Hello Gabe, at 7:25 you mention changing to the "manufacturers" drivers. Is that the "vendor" option or something else to be installed beforehand. I am trying to send multi-track to abbleton for collaboration purposes. Can't seem to get it to work. Thanks!
I am torn between this and the mc 707🤔 does the verse lab have the same preset sounds built in as I like the vocal processor and the ability to use the iPad app with it too 😊
I saw this pioneer series after i bought the verselab. That Sp16 is so hands on, And it should go nicely with the Squid. I am not disappointed having the verselab its a great tool. You can make things quickly.
So you own the mpcone. What about this groovebox makes you want the pioneer or this? Just wondering for my own sake. I have an electron model samples and have been looking at the one, mc101, and this.
@@teddybearasaurus I wanted the MPC Live But the Verselab came along with the Vocal Track As for Pioneer The Squid is an up and coming Sequencer Gets away from Step Sequencing I noticed SP16 had more hands on control
So mpc or this. I have samsung pad home..which you prefer, and why? Thank you. Like to make lofi hiphop, drill, trap etc. All mpc are gone but this is in stock rn. I dont know what to do.
august 2022 - ghardware - zero updates, zenbeats - trillion updates... as you said... the power of hardware sits in external software... i'm preparing to say goodbye to this machine... Novation Rhythm stole my heart.
Bummer. I still miss my MV-1, and I would have been fine with it as is with no further update, but it does suck that it seems like Roland has kind of abandoned it. Glad you're digging the Rhythm tho!
If i make a clip on my mv1 it doesn’t appear in zenbeats unless i close the app and reopen it. Also if i delete a clip within a section it doesn’t delete in zenbeats. Does anyone know what im doing wrong ? Or is the mistake thinking roland would get it right ?
Damn this is kind of cool. Do you use the MV-1 anymore? This is about a year old haha. I just got the SP404 MK2 and I was thinking about expanding my standalone setup and I've been considering this to pair with the MK2. I like synthsssss haha
@@baqcasanke I looked into it more. Seems like a good idea for developing songs with a badly designed execution, unfortunately. To me the Push 3 is ideal, but the pricing is whack haha.
10 minutes of talking. And how import files from Zenology to MV-1? You can't export .sdz you can only export .svz for Zen-Core hardware and here is no explaining of how to doing it, sorry dis.
Good vid, also glad companies are taking note of how well you showcase how you use gear. Congrats on the sponsorship
I would say congrats to Roland on the sponsorship - they are the winners here 😉👍
Would LOVE to hear your take on this in 2022/23. Just ordered one. Specifically sample chopping.
I also figured out the other day that the Verselab can be powered by a single USB-2.0 to USB-C cable to an iPad Pro running Zenbeats. Pretty cool!
I've just bought one. I think it's going to great. Love the sound.

Now with the "small screen issue" kinda fixed makes the Verselab an easy choice over the MPC Live 2 because of its excellent Synth-Engine! 👍
I would be ecstatic if they were to do the same kind of integration for the MC101 too!

I'm glad Roland is letting you put out some vids This is so new Not much out there
With Zenbeats 3 Max it almost feels like might as well just leave the MV-1 out of the loop completely if I’m being honest. Same with my MC-101/707
Do you have a video on how to connect it to a computer and exporting the individual stems so you can use them in a DAW,...?

Also great with circuit tracks
Still waiting for a new MV-8800. Guess I'll be waiting forever 🤷♂️
Akai Force maybe?

This unit mixes the sp and mc lines. People argue about tiny screen but it’s like never have seen an sp X0X with one line 3 digit display… xD

Roland should've added a real screen and an internal battery, with the mic input and phantom power it would be an MPC live II killer.....

Great , I want one

If I recall correctly, yes. It doesn't need to be installed beforehand.
Although, for sending tracks to a DAW, you may need to install ASIO drivers.
Vrry good please teach us how you designed this music on zenbeat
This is great, Gabe! Does this slso work with the MC-101?
Hi thanks for the info …is there anyway u can stop that delay of loading the next wave file song .. obviously a problem in a live set
So just to clarify. Can you use the MV1 as a midi module similar to the way you would use the Roland Electra for example?

Owner of an mpcOne and an mv8800 looking at the sp16 from pioneer for live sequencing. But also looking at this mv now for sequencing

Gabe, the enlarge mixer button on the top right corner doesn't exist on iPad ZenBeats, is it a different version you have?

@@GabeMillerMusic that's the problem, sampling related shortcomings have never been addressed
Please review the model:samples PLEASEEE
Can you power the verselab from an iPad?
Zenology Pro plugin: 250 Euros, every virtual instrument for it another 150 Euros... That's one heck of an expensive patch editor!
I think you get the full Zenology software for a year with the device, but also zenbeats and the basic editor is always free isn’t it?

This shoulda been called Zenbeats on iphone
I have the same mixtape. You can help me make steam live on Tik Tok
