it’s funny you say that because I’ve always wanted to get my hands on a set of them for something silver and here we are! cant wait to get em back from static coatings.
nice! might be a bit counterintuitive to say but i’m not necessarily a fan of these newer generations because of the community that surrounds them, but head over heels with this thing and can’t wait to tweak it to my needs. I really appreciate your support and hope to only improve the channel from here on out.
that water pump is/was always my biggest worry. this belt in particular had me worried for the simple fact of age and dry rot, sitting in storage for a few years.
fundinggggg but obviously more priorities i guess. spend a few bucks on getting that going(which will cost me exponentially more) or get my hands on some quicker satisfaction stuff in the meantime? not the best answer but it’s the best i got for ya.
Don't tell anyone, but mk4s aren't as bad as the rap they get. I think its largely the people that drive them that make them look bad, the "mk4 kids", however, considering they're 20 years old now, that crowd has long since moved into either the newer generations or to other makes. 337's are cool.
dude i love this thing, even more than when i had my first one. short of some heated seats, it’s got all the necessary creature comforts/road feel. it really feels way ahead of its time driving one nowadays after having owned a practically brand new mk7.5 not discrediting the 7.5 either but man did they build these older cars right. i said it all the time back in the day and continue to say it now, the 6 speed that these come with really do the 1.8t justice. i never have and never will want to own a 5 speed 1.8t unless it’s in a passat. revs drop too much to make a regular gti feel any sorta fun with the 5 speed, gotta bring it up near 4k if you wanna shift and still have power. of course all the other hoo-dads the anni’s get make it a wonderful csr but the trans always stood out to me as the real game changer.
Congrats Mike!
thanks man! head over heels with this one.
How cute are those matching cars
cuter than ever.
long beaches are some of my favourite "new" vw wheels, they look good on almost everything. glad to see you going back to your roots man.

Ayeeeee!!! Glad you made it back into a 337
felt weird about it at first but these really
are an incredibly solid platform if you can find an unmolested one.
Stoked on the LS swap btw
hell yeah man. cant wait.
i love this channel and the videos the fact you got a mk4 hypes me up i recently got a 1.8t gti and building my mk1

Mk4's are cool. I got a '03 VR6 in rough shape and trying to improve it step by step.
yeah man i really love this car more and more every day. having a lot of fun taking off the few aftermarket things and turning it back to stock.
Lets get to work!
what if we inspected the cam bearings together over pizza?
Reminder, the hydraulic tensioner is the weak point, not the belt. The belt is 105k(continental) from factory and the oem replacement.

What about the swallowtail. 😢

good find. come buy my r32
unless you're funding it, were done buying vehicles for a while lol. i accept donated cars though.

Mk4 was the best car vw ever made.
It came out Europe 1996.
The nvh was so good Mercedes delayed releasing their next model because it wasn’t as good.
