Check out my Toolbox to quickly Add/Remove programs, configure power settings, and system updates with the click of a button. github.com/TheLinuxITGuy/Toolbox I meant to cover how to use eopkg via terminal. Here are some examples: Install sudo eopkg install neofetch Remove sudo eopkg remove neofetch
It is genuinely lovely to see that Solus is still going and found again a pace after all their internal issues. I used to be on Solus in the past for a long time and would never have jumped to Fedora and Arch if their serious internal struggles wouldn't have endangered the distribution. Im happy to see them stabilising.
Thank you for making this video. I've gone through every step since am new to the Solus Budgie world. I appreciate the effort you put inðððĨðĨ
I have been running solus budgie since last year reboot. Really good so far and I really appreciate their once a week update schedule usually on Friday. My machine boot faster than Lubuntu with Solus Budgie!!! Thanks for the video
On topic, Solus looks super clean. Like it! Thanks for the video. Off topic: Not sure your experience, but what would you recommend for someone on a budget that can't crossfire/run two GPUs to run linux and emulate Windows with GPU passthrough? It seems like you have more experience than I with desktops. I always hit a wall because games like Fortnite won't work without Easy Anti-Cheat, a terrible DRM/anti-cheat, but it would be fine if I just emulate Windows with GPU access that can give the necessary performance levels for gaming. I have an onboard GPU and I tried some commands people recommend to use onboard for intel and gpu passthrough but it didn't quite work out. Just wondering if you know something that I might not. The last desktop you recommended for gaming on Linux was quick, easy and painless, but that was my only barrier! Any insights? Appreciate you.
Hi there, thanks for the video. About Solus, the only problem I have with it is the support of multiple graphics (amd+nvidia on my case) , I was not able to have optimus support like prime or envy.
I installed solus but the terminal doesnt open and the app store just doesn't work, i installed another distro but budgie is amazing, any fixes for the problem i got?
My first installion failed after 99% because boatloader can't be installed I then tried to again with bios overdrive and selecting my USB drive and then solus loader popped up and I selected "debugger mode resielence" on the bottom instead of choices on top. It worked now but is it now a normal clean installation?

Well said. I'm running it on the capture desktop now. It's very snappy and quick. Thanks Rob.
If ever there was a Linux installation meditation video I think this is it. Love this format man, keep it up
I appreciate it. Thanks for watching.

I haven't ran GPU passthrough in a bit, but anything AMD should work. I don't think I'd try with NVIDIA.

Thanks for the info!
Which distro are you using for daily use?
Right now Linux Mint 21.3. Thanks for watching.
EDIT: Solus 4.5
I installed solus but the terminal doesnt open and the app store just doesn't work, i installed another distro but budgie is amazing, any fixes for the problem i got?
Havenât seen that before. Have you tried a sudo eopkg upgrade from the terminal and give it a reboot?
@@TheLinuxITGuy the thing is the terminal doesn't open
What if you break out and go into TTY (CTRL+ALT+ F1-F3)?
I tried using this distro but multi-monitor setup just would not work.
What GPU do you have? Thanks for watching.
gtx 1660 super.
@@Harb000 I'll try with my RTX 3050 and let you know.
Okay, I'm in Solus 4.5 and both of my monitors just work. I did boot up and install using the NVIDIA option.
problem is when you plug the second monitor to the onboard graphics it doesn't work like other distros.

Glad you got it working. How do you like it? If you wiped your entire hard drive, itâs a clean install.
If only they could get a bug figured out that keeps many Brother computers from being recognized.
Do they know about it? Thanks for watching.
Solus had so much hype until it went hiatus. I do not think it will be the darling it once was.
We'll have to see. Thanks for watching.
