I went through so much stuff during that time period, and this game, and the music saved me, it was my only savior at the end of the day. I come back from school, go to work, and then come back and spend the last 2 hours of the day, with the game, and it makes everything better and easier for me. Despite that personal connection with the game, I really loved it, and I do not think it deserve the hate it gets. It has the best music hands down! and all the characters are amazing, and I can relate to some of them as well.

Warning to people coming here though - you WIll get down the rabbit hole of listening to the whole soundtrack. You might want to play them again and you WILL feel nostalgic, maybe, like me, even a bit sad. But remember - you´re here now and are able to listen to everything again. The memories were made. I played and beat Final Fantasy XIII when it released and loved the game. I moved to the Philippines soon after and have been living here since, never having known that it the 1st in a trilogy. Thanks to Game Pass I've played and beat XIII again, and downloaded XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, and I'm only halfway through XIII-2 and KNOW that I'm in for something profoundly bittersweet. This song absolutely encapsulates that feeling.
I loved playing as lightning because she's an awesome person to play as especially her summon! I love using them both in combat I love Sazh and Hope. I am not sure if I like Snow, I mean I love his summon that's about it lol

I remember going through my divorce when this game came out. It was one of the things that make me stay with my feet on the ground. Really hard times. All that struggle trying to save Yuul was very personal to me.

5 years ago huh? I do not even remember this comment, but I did end up playing the rest of the XIII trilogy & I didn't like the rest I even went back to play FFXIII again & all I liked about it was the music, it's great & I did play FF7 remake & its great

Never played 13-2 and didn’t finish 13, but the music from these games always bring a calm nostalgia since they represent the “brief respites” (see what I did there?) of the craziness that was my college years 😌
was never a huge fan of the trilogy but i always really liked 13-2
