A very beautiful and useful tiny home. I really like it. Wish more cities would allow to have them within their "city limits". I would happily replace my 2 story old "barn style" home for one of these. 🏡 ❤
I'm a single mother living in CA. Been working so hard so I can retire at 50 if things keep going well for me. Bought my first condo this month and I can't be more proud than I am right now. I'm so glad I made good decisions about my finances that changed me forever.
Hey, I’m super proud of you. I wish you can take your time to give me a little guide on how to fix my finances. I’m in a mess right now and any tip from you would really go a long way.
Hey sweetie. Apparently, I used the FIRE movement to put my finances in shape. You can research more about it. Then, lnvested in stocks, crypto-currencies and real estates crowdfunding through the assistance of an lnvestment pro I was able to achieve a lot.
I’ve watch a zillion tiny home videos but this one stands miles above the others. This is the first and only time I’ve seen a bed with enough room on both sides for ease in making up the bed. I adore that fact that she can stand fully in her bedroom. She is also the only owner who has a wardrobe of more than jeans, t shirts and boots. There is only one thing lacking that would make this home completely perfect, that is a handrail for the stairs. What a gem of a house!
Agree with everything you said ....and having slipped off some stairs and still paying the price 3 years later I'm with you ; a hand rail on stairs is a safety must !
you haven't seen enough of them then. They are others where you can stand and move around the bedroom. And no stairs. Usually it's the gooseneck trailer builds.
@@jacijune I was thinking the same thing. I’ve watched many many videos of beautiful spacious tiny homes like this one and even more nice features. I really like this one as well and agree with the previous commenter about a railing because I have fallen down a flight of 15 stairs when pregnant. Later when looking for a house, I didn’t want a basement or stairs and was very specific about other things with the house when I prayed. Till this day I’m still very grateful that my Heavenly Father blessed me with what I asked for. 🙏🏾❤️
For those asking, she said she spent $137,000 on the house and it cost about $15,000 to prepare the utilities on the land. She didn't mention land cost.
@@lisaforbes7325 Sure, she could have. But maybe not as nice a regular home, or one that she could design exactly the way she wanted it. Custom architecture is pretty expensive. And cost isn't always the one reason people live tiny anyhow.
Such a nice tiny home! I love the fact that it has a downstairs bedroom, the whole place seems bigger than it actually is. In the bedroom, I'd suggest replacing the overhead light with a nice ceiling fan, which, with a flip of a switch, helps with the air in the summer, and the heat in the colder months. Enjoy your home!
Yes! Hope she sees this comment. Heat rises in the winter and with those tall ceilings, the heat is quickly rising up there-a fan turned to the right setting pushes that warm air back down. I bought my 1940 home with 10' ceilings 20 years ago and the ceiling fans had just been installed - bedrooms, and both living rooms. I have never turned any of them off in 20 years. I just flip the little switch two times a year. I have changed the glass shades on them to keep them "current." Best investment ever!
I have a fan that can be controlled by a remote…which means you can reverse the fan’s direction by pressing a button. I’ve had this fan for almost 20 years, though, and the buttons on the remote control have gotten a little soft and harder to make that connection over time. That would be my major concern about installing a fan on such a high ceiling. Maybe modern fans feature both a switch on the fan as well as the remote control, so if one becomes too difficult to operate, you have the other option? Regardless though, I agree. I would install a fan, make sure it has a remote control and hopefully manual switch, and at least get several years of operation before having to worry about any failure.
It's interesting that I can look at Tiny Houses designed by younger folks & it doesn't feel like it would quite work, but when I see one designed by someone's my age range, they always are designed perfectly. It has to do with space around a bed & comfy couches. LOL.
It is not uncommon find things that are presented as functional and innovative to lack the comfort factor. Like sure, that couch looks great there and fits well but it looks like it would be as comfortable as sitting on a stack of cinder blocks.
I absolutely love her home and whidbey island is a great location. Good to know they allow tiny homes. Her interior is beautiful and functional and perfect for a tiny home.
Careful, she didn't explicitly say that. There is a chance it was allowed as a temporary dwelling while a house on a foundation is built on the site. Maybe as a way to keep the building site safe. I do realize she said she was getting a pre-fab house, by the way.
@@wownewstome6123 yes you are correct. They will only allowed as a temp structure. I guess I am not surprised. Land around here is outside of my price range anyways.
A fellow Whidbey Islander! I love the black exterior and interior parts! This is such an awesome tiny house. I like that it’s not the typical boring modern farmhouse feel.
Shelly is so cute! I love her tiny house! Jenna you make amazing tour videos! I’ve watched other tiny home tour creators and they’re just never done as well as your videos are.♥️
How beautiful your home is...comfy and cozy, light and airy..... love the bedroom on the main level....hope to see your new home when it's done...God Bless

Absolutely loved this tiny home and the owner this was a real treat thank you for sharing this video and home with us. This home definitely whispers home to me in its design
This tiny house is truly a home ! I love the bedroom especially ! What a game changer ! Since the loft is hot maybe another window could be inserted on the opposite wall to create an air flow but other than that, this tiny house design is a dream come true 😍🏡 (As an Australian I was surprised by the cute but teeny-tiny spice rack....we use a lot of spices where I live ! I have about 35 spices in my spice rack ! )
What a great house and location! Hubby was stationed at Whidbey back in the mid to late 90’s until they closed his unit down. Haven’t been to Whidbey in years! Seeing this makes me want to go 🥰
I'm in the middle of watching this at the part in the kitchen, showing the wooden table now...OMG....I would move into her stunning and beautifully decorated tiny home now! So far I'm in love, the floral motif right at the front door, simple and exquisite. I'm an artist, I love the coat rack...so cool and the word 'breathe' below it....okay back to the rest of the tour...Amazing job! I love it!

Very beautiful tiny home, and I love how it looks on the inside and the style that it has and the size is really good. The home I live in now is around 1200 square feet, it isn't tiny but small and I am loving it a lot. Thanks for another really great video, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂😉🤗💜💜💜

Where I live, we get 58"+ of rain between late September & June. Mostly overcast skies. Dark early. I would have cabin fever big time in a tiny house. Living in a tiny house is brilliant for areas that are drier, more sun, warmer most of the year. Having nice outdoor living space is necessary. Glad so many people have joy and peace living in them and saving $ on expenses.
A Great Home, thank you for showing your home; I didn't get what State you were in and if there are other private lands available there. I am retiring next year and looking into downsizing from a 3600 sq ft home to a tiny home. A wonderful learning experience.
OMGoodness! We're looking at Whidbey Island as a possible place to live! Surprised to see this type of landscape, what side of the island are you located? What an AWESOME idea, to helpmfolks declutter...the issue I'm facing at this very moment! Beautiful home.
Whidbey Island is incredible! I moved here Nov 2021 and I’ll never leave. The island is scattered with forest land, ocean cliffs, and farm land. I suggest looking around on Google Earth to check out the different parts of the island. It’s got it all and I would recommend it here to just about anyone. It’s a magical beautiful place.
Thank you thank you thank you. In your home I’ve finally found one I could just about say “copy hers”. Might put in a Murphy bed in case kids needed a place to play during the day. As she said, she always wanted a play house. This one just might be a bit too long for my backyard. I’ll replay the video looking for the length.
What a beautiful home, so airy and spacious. All the white with touches of wood and plants makes it look so inviting. I've watched many tiny home videos and this is my favorite - I keep coming back to it. I have three more years of saving before I have mine built (I don't want to make payments). All of the windows drew me to this one. I do have a question though. Is there a reason why tiny homes don't have microwave or the combo ovens? Is it d/t space or something more significant? Couldn't they be installed over the stove?
It is a beautiful home, it's easy to see how happy she is. I heard her say it was built by Summit Tiny Homes , The couple that own that company were interviewed about their own tiny house a few years ago. They built their own Tiny house which lead to starting a tiny house company Is it ok to post a link to that video ?
What a cute little tiny home. I noticed in the very beginning of the video it said Whidbey Island washington. I used to live there in 1974 and 75 and I wish I could go back and live there again I loved it there
I absolutely loved the layout. Having everything on the same level is very appealing. My only change would be to have a bath tub. Fantastic ideas though.
I really love the Pull Out drawers in your kitchen seen some in HOMES mainly for pot covers, near an over area. I like the Smaller stove-oven being smaller, taking up less space. Love the narrow Pull out shelve for spices
Wow! What a beautiful tiny home, and her positive attitude, future plans, business and dreams are also so inspiring… she has a bright future to living tiny and simple.
This is by far the BEST home I have seen, Shelly is a fantastic hostess that has thought out her property. I loved the interior, light, bright and uncluttered. She has impeccable taste. Could see that with a new home maybe she would rent this as an Air B&B, would love to stay there for a couple of nights.....looks like a tree farm and so quiet, thanks and happy new year

I love your house as much as you are proud of it. :) I absolutely would like to enjoy watching the starry starry night sky every night like you are. :)
Waterproof curtains that slide to open and close on the deck would be a nice addition. It would give the illusion of a little outdoor room. It’s a very nice tiny home, I really like all the stencils.

I absolutely would like to enjoy watching the starry starry night sky every night like you are. :)
Really beautiful home she has! Thank you for sharing!
Waterproof curtains that slide to open and close on the deck would be a nice addition. It would give the illusion of a little outdoor room.
It’s a very nice tiny home, I really like all the stencils.
Such a cheerful bright home. You are so neat, organized and brave!!
What’s there not to like, it’s spacious and beautifully decorated 😊 I wouldn’t change a thing!
This is one of the best tiny houses I’ve seen. I love absolutely everything she did. It would be so easy to live there. It’s really beautiful. I love the round window to. I should be so blessed to own a beautiful home like this 😊❤
I’d change out the bedroom light for a ceiling fan without a light (being she doesn’t like the light). Air circulation is always nice.
This Tiny Home is designed so well because of the little changes she made here and there. I'm adding this one to my Best Tiny Designs folder!🤩🌈
Love The Home!
Would like to see videos on how to finance & find land with zoning to allow tiny homes.
That magnet on her fridge…. Henry David Thoreau quote…. I have the very same magnet… love it
Some things I'd change, but overall, I really like this one.
My Wife is a Beach fan, and I'm a cabin guy, this has both feelings to me, very nice. I give this one a ❤
