Interesting to see it’s a Renault engine as the Renault badge is in the sump. So 22k - erm….. think it’s lost a few along the way. It’s got non original tyres at the front and i can’t imagine they would have worn out by 22k in 6 years? As ever, as no questions and get on with the job. Good work👌

Hi I have a question I am changing a 1.2 dig T engine with the same engine code from a Nissan pulsar to a qashqai . The pulsar was automatic and the qashqai is manual. I have come across a problem Which is that the flywheel does not sit flush as there is an additional seal or difference in the crankshaft flange at the gearbox side . Can this be replaced and how or shall I bore the flywheel.
If the engine code is the same there shouldn’t be a difference but without seeing it I can’t tell you exactly what the problem is. I hope you manage to get it fixed somehow.
Guys I like the work you did. My qashqai has issue that sometimes it run properly I can see that engine has power but it happens with hot or cold engine that it will start to consume a lot fuel and I can see white smoke with strong petrol smell . Engine has poor acceleration . And in hot engine in iddle it will try to go down with speed but then it will start shake and knocking sound is there. With little higher speed in iddle(850)the knocking sound is gone . I changed ignition coils , spar plugs , cleaned air sensor , and blue lambda from catalystic converter. Could it be egr ? What you think ? I AM GETTING CRAZY CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE NEVER ENDING STORY . SHORT DISTANCE 17 L/ 100 km consuption and averega 10.2 l /100 km .. I feel very upset.
I did compresion test and 3 pistons have 10 each and one have 9.5 . Because if it will be conpression than it will go always bad. Or am I wrong ? .. and never good . When I did 200 km distance on highway the car was running nicely for short time. Thanks for ansver.
These are terrible engines. Glad the newer 1.3 is very reliable. Know someone with 130.000 kms on it and never had any issues so far. Always on 15.000 kms oil change.
If you have 3 cylinders misfire then your 3rd cylinder valve might be cracked and you need to open the head of the engine. Common issues on this engine
Had the same problem and it wasnt the valves that they said after the falt trace. It was the timing chain tension that broke and small pieces fell down in to the oilpump. So the engine dident get enough oil. So 2 of the pistons was damaged. Almost fixt everything now. Found the connector to lamba in this video that i didnt know where it goes. Thank you so much! 😁👍

Under the thermostat, very difficult to locate, will have to remove the thermostat and the pipes to get clear access

We would suggest you do a compression test to see if you have a problem with your pistons.
