    Have you done this for the Renault Captur, and is it the same as for this Qashqai

    Thank you for a very informative video. I’m going to do the same job on a Renault Megane III with the same engine. I didn’t know that the rocker cover didn’t have to come off, that will save a lot of time. I’m planning to replace the oil pump chain as well.

      @@sanumotorswithcharlie thank you very much for your reply I really appreciate it the timing chain needs doing on my Nissan and I just thought with all the stripping you have to do the kit I brought had both timing chains in and just thought it would be easier to replace both of them just as preventive maintenance so I was just wondering if there is any timing marks I know the oil pump has to be removed to get the chain out which is no problem I was just worried about if there was any timing marks for it

    Great video, I’m doing this on a 1.2 dig-t juke at home and my timing chain cover is glued on so tight with the silicone, any advice or just try and break the seal and get some leverage on it?

    Hi, nice job, you make it look easy, I have a Nissan juke 2016 1.2dig t I think is the same engine with the one in you video, the car keeps throwing P0090 code with engine light on and start stop system light flashing without any other symptoms, I've noticed that is happening with the engine cold and just in motorway never around the city, once the code is deleted, never come back until the engine is cold and I take it to the motorway, any idea what it can be wrong? Thank you

    Hi Charlie. My Turbo just failed on the same car. ( 2019 Qashqai 1.,2 petrol ) The turbo shaft is bent and it's coked up with carbon. I'm worried that the same thing will happen again after I replace it. What should I do or look out for? Is it easy and worth removing the sump and rocker and flushing?

    Hi mate love your videos,
    I have an issue with my 1.2l 2014 qashqai cranking but not firing, i had RAC out and they did a diagnostic check and found a fault on the camshaft position sensor. Replaced 2 sensors and no change, he told me the timing chain has most likely worn/stretched causing the timing to be out. How likely is this to be the problem?

Indeed it is very frustrating as the car ran fine before with no noticeable rattling or symptoms although it has done 103k miles without a replacement so it could be a good possibility. I will now be taking your advice on getting a garage to give me a second opinion 👍 I will let you know what the outcome is and again thanks for your help.

    Hi mate first of all thank you very much for detailed video on explaining each step. I would say its very helpful.
    Now just seeking advice to see if you can help.
    I have nissan qashqai 2014 1.2dgit petrol. Found some noisw coming from front of car get checked with 2 different independet mechanics which both suggested its timing chain. Car done around 100k so most probably its the chain.
    Now the main question as i am getting confused with 2 independent mechanics said different thing.
    One said just need timing chain kit replacement with new engine oil and filter will solve the problem.
    Other said it needs oil pump with chain and water pump need replaced aswell alongside with gasket, camshaft seal and cover as we getting that far in engine.
    Just been curious and asked 3rd guy and he said water pump not driven by chain so not replacing and as having no engine lights or oil lights/issue on car so oil pump doesnt need changing.
    Now need your proffessional advise what would you suggest.

      Hi l, It will for the exact engine you have posted video. Mine is starting fine. But idling rough. Going into limp mode with I. 20 seconds after start. Is the TDC done on first piston next to cam sprockets? May be if you can do a detailed video on timing 1.2 TCE engine in a manual way. Rather than relying on chain markers. That would be highly appreciated. Thanks

    The 19socket that holds the crank pulley, do you lock the crank from moving before unscrewing it, im using a T Piece to unscrew wont the crank /pistons move as if reversing?

    I’m suspecting my parents has this problem is throwing a fault code for cam sensors occasionally it’s only done 4500 miles from new 2017 do you think it could be the problem? What’s the time taken roughly please similar set up to yours (no ramp)

      c code related ABS system, how ever this is a common cause for diesel cars, block presser line.
      to be honest I'm not sure, better to take it to the garage and ask them to check, also make sure all plugs and connectors clip properly
