Very nice night market love the night market very good healthy food and fresh fruits and vegetables very good I love the night market thank you for sharing your video ,
Been to Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya and in November hitting Krabi town and Ao Nang, I survive on street food while there cause it's cheap, Lots of it and tastes great.
Seems like you really know yourself .... where to go, where to live, how to live. Appreciate your videos about Thai culture and lifestyle. So simple and so good; that is long forgotten in the West. Looking forward to more videos about living in Thailand.
+laportetroite Thanks for your nice comments. Yes, life in Thailand is simpler and less complicated than life in the West, it's definitely one of the things that attracted me to Thailand. More videos coming soon!
So yummy as always...my day off tomorrow im going to try a Thai restaurant near where i live in Australia...you make me so hungry....thanks for sharing...take care you n family
Glad you mentioned bugs in this one cuz I have noticed peeps aren't swatting at anything. I'm shocked especially in that climate. Here in Northern MN it is a constant battle of black flies horse flies, mosquitos, gnats and the infamous 'no see ems'. lol The other thing that amazes me is where and how is all the meat an produce raised just based on the huge quantities being sold just in one city. WOW! Another great vid Darren!!!
Lol! Yes, there are bugs, but the ones that bother you generally seem to be seasonal, or to only come out at certain hours. Thailand is a very agricultural country, lots of the land in this area is farms and around 40% of Thailand's population work in agriculture-based jobs.Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video! I'm happy to see more of you and your family!! Your wife looks like a kind person, how did you meet? Your son is just too cute,I'm sure he will grow into a fine man, just like his dad :)
+Colleen Kubricht Thanks a lot for your nice words :). Yes, my wife is very kind. She used to work at one of my friend's restaurants and we met there. And yes, my son is very cute. We're doing our best to raise him to be a decent human being :)
darren this night market vid seems to have shot pretty good in the low light but geoff carter has just released a vid of a new pattaya night market that hes filmed during late afternoon because he says his sony cybershot (approx cost 109GBP) does not record well in low light so what camera did you use here? ive looked in the description but cannot see any tech info!
Hi sir. Greetings from Singapore. You have done a great vlog. Thanks for sharing but may I know the cam you used for this vlog? Thank you and I really hope to hear from you. Thanks and have a nice day.
Hi Darren - do you have a link to anywhere which tells us which markets are open on what days? I'm coming for a week in high season so wanted to know where to do depending on which day ect.. Thanks.
That information is given in the description below my "Ao Nang Krabi Night Market Tour" video: - The Ao Nang Mosque Market. Google Maps coordinates: 8.035118, 98.830978. Open from 6pm till 10pm every day. - The Monday, Tuesday and Friday Market. Google Maps coordinates: 8.042038, 98.843658. Open from 4pm till 7pm every Monday, Tuesday and Friday. - The Wednesday Market. Google Maps coordinates: 8.047804, 98.810975. Open from about 4pm till 7pm every Wednesday. - The Thursday Market. Google Maps coordinates: 8.055723, 98.817504. Open from 4pm till 7pm every Thursday. - The Saturday Market. Google Maps coordinates: 8.050295, 98.814983. Open from 4pm till 7pm every Saturday. I hope that helps.
Hi Darren i'm planing to move to krabi, i found one of your VDO that you showed your renting house, where can i find this similar house for rent ? Thanksss
I like both, but Hat Yai is bigger and has more on offer. The only night markets I know in Surat Thani are the one on Bandon Road and the floating market every Sunday in Si Tapi Park.
Hi darren, my friends are planning to go to Krabi in February 2017. We are a group of 12 people, where can you recommend us to stay? Krabi or Ao nang? Nice vids btw :)
I will be in Ao Nang on Saturday and Sunday nights. Any markets in Ao Nang on Sat/Sun? Looks like there is weekend market in Krabi, but what about Ao Nang?
There is a market which is open every night outside the Ao Nang Mosque Market: Google Maps coordinates: 8.035118, 98.830978, open 6pm-10pm. There is also a new night market which is open every night at Google Maps: 8.041332, 98.818185, open 5pm-10pm. There is a local market open every Saturday: Google Maps coordinates: 8.050295, 98.814983, open 4pm-7pm and there is a small local market open on Sundays: Google Maps coordinates: 8.047804, 98.810975. Open 4pm-7pm. The weekend market in Krabi Town is much bigger than all of these and is the largest market in the area. My Ao Nang night market guide has a lot more information on all of these and other markets th-cam.com/video/r3REf9gsPqg/w-d-xo.html&list=PLNLfDOIkGB11RRRIECMCACswNJ2Up7fJj I hope that helps.
Ive just looked up where Krabi is because of your videos and its a long way from Bangkok. It looks so lovelly but how did you manage to come to settle there? Maye bit personal so you dont have to answer just curious. Anyway all the best to you and your family its always great watching your videos, Im slowly getting through them all.
+Lazy Travel Days Yes, it's roughly 850 km from Bangkok, about 10 hours by car. I originally came here for a friend's wedding, and while I was here to have a holiday. My friend had been alternating between 6 months here and 6 months in Australia for about 7 years. When I came here I loved it and when I got back to Australia I found I was missing Krabi, so I found some cheap flights and came back 10 weeks later. While I was here I started considering that this might be where I want to live and once I got back to Australia I missed Krabi again, so I got my affairs in order and moved here 7 months later. I haven't looked back yet :)
The location is in the description below the video- This market is called Klong Haeng Walking Street or Nopparattani Market. It is open Wednesday evenings from 4:00 till 7:30PM and is near the Ao Nang Muay Thai Stadium, behind Nopparat Thara Beach. The Google Maps coordinates are: 8.047739, 98.810650
It's the main market on Wednesdays in Ao Nang, it's really easy to find. Go to Google Maps and type in "Nopparattani Wednesday Market" and you will see where it is.
we would love this place for an entire day! so mellow the people, right up our alley. ok, Darren, life wouldn't be us without a few questions for you! I, is there any "bartering" on any of the products or food?, and 2, other than Thai boxing, which I love, is there another sport that would fall into the term "the national pastime" there, such as baseball is referred to here in the states? (though many would argue that it's American football), and finally 3, while I have your ear, are the folks selling jewelry/gold reputable, and are the prices as good as the other so many products and food? thanks for even one answer, I try to keep it brief, but the wife always has questions over my shoulder as well, I'm sure you can relate... thanks, as always so much, Chris
no you dont barter on food thais love premier league soccer(uk league) And finally Bangkok is the best place for jewellery only from reputable dealers though never let guides drivers or people you may meet take you to a jewelers or any retailer for that matter.hope that helps
+Michigan Mister Yes, it is a great market Chris, I love it there. I'm sure I'll be heading there again in a few hours. All the food is at fixed prices, though you may pick up some bargains near closing time. If you don't want to pay the asking price there's plenty of other customers who will. Some of the clothes and things do have slightly flexible prices, but generally if there is a sign with the price it is set. Gamel is right, Thais love watching the UK Premier League. Soccer is also popular for men & boys to play and badminton is also very popular sport for both sexes to play. Generally at markets like these the jewellery is costume jewellery, and it is very cheap. The silver is most likely a blend or silver plate and it is advertised and priced as such. There are reputable gold shops throughout Thailand as it is a common investment item in Thailand, but they are not at markets like this. There are also reputable jewelers in many regions, selling certificated jewels, but Bangkok definitely would have the biggest variety of shops.
just finished watching Marks new series, part 3 while reading your response! I'm starting to recognize some of the places you've already shown us. thanks for the info, as he rarely responds. I do understand how hard it must be. my fascination continues with such great work!! lucky the wife shares the same feelings, or she would think I'm nuts? it's 2 am, so if you uploaded today, I have something to look forward to tomorrow, as I'm done trying to stay awake! hug the family? Chris
