i want to start a small cattle ranch. i want to produce a speceialty beef. kinda like koby beef. im a iraq war veteran. i was stationed in germany for 3 years the one thing out of many differances of germany to the states. german beef taste differant compaired to american. its awesome. i want to travel to germany find out how they raise there cattle. which i have a 11 year old son there. im currently living in louiseville ky. im thinking buying a house with land to start me a cattle ranch i will have 10 to 20 head. i think its way better to raise cattle here in kentucky because it rains alot kentucky has a abundant green healthy vegitation which cattle can graze kentucky environment is like germany is really green. MR.Donald starter can you guide me???
Legosys i dont know i would love to find out lol germany is really green i think most of the time they graze the natural grass maybe thhats the reason why the beef taste differently. therewas this butter called crotta butter it was like garlic butter it was the bomb on ther steak you would litterly eat yourself to death big ass glass of german beer its awesome
Grass fed is the way to go, if you're gonna feed grain at all it should be a supplement. If you get enough land to both have your animals graze and get a decent hay harvest, that's the best way. There's no fun and very little profit to be made just buying all your feed and keeping your animals in a small lot.

The problem with Kentucky is that there are a lot of parasites in the grass because of the rain, but its not impossible.
