@@captainbpj8656 Exactly it's SEASON 1, she didn't love him in season 1, she fell when he changed. It's called character development and he went through that.
i don’t even hate her, i just found her annoying throughout the whole series (especially after she got with damon; before that she’s okay ig). also she wasn’t much of a good friend and people trying to make this about caroline and her supposed “jealousy” is just so funny to me. what i really hate is her relationship with damon, who not only SA’d caroline and vicky, but harassed elena multiple times (kissed her or tried to kiss her when she explicitly said no and tried to push him away), not to mention when, as a consequence of her rejection, he literally killed jeremy for no reason at all. “well katherine was the one who actually killed him” yeah she was but she had a reason (questionable or not, she was still trying to save her own life), unlike damon who did all of this without a real reason. elena still got with him despite knowing all that he did to her, to stefan (even lexi omg), to caroline and to bonnie so she’s pretty fucking stupid, just like the ”well she changed damon” girl no she did not, he changed her for the worse. if anything, it was bonnie who changed damon a little in the prison world and made him somewhat of a better person. with elena it was just a codependent kinda thing, but i get in the 010s they had a thing for putting these toxic relationships on a pedestal 😭
People hate Elena way too much. She lost most of her family and most of the storylines revolved around her because she IS the main character of the show until season 6. She is flawed for sure and made some really bad choices but she always meant well and tried to help and did help. She was selfless in many occasions.
Elena hate makes no sense to me. first, i dont think she ruined most of their plans, shiela's death I would blame damon and stefan, in the plan to kill Katherine, it was good she came or they might not have known Katherine linked her to herself ( Katherine) and she might have died, and lets not forget elena was the reason they were able ti get elijah's trust again. Second her wanting to save only elijah makes sense considering the fact every other original tried to kill her. And the kol thing is like huh, kol was trying to kill her and her brother, even tho it was klaus that started the search for the cure but her wanting kill him to protect herself is wrong and as for the vampires, klaus was going to kill innocent vampires anyway, she just narrowed it down. I get what he is saying about the stafan trying to fix her stuff but stefan's approach to it was wrong, stefan was so focus on getting the cure for her that it was he forgot she still hard to learn to be a vampire, and no one should come at me saying what about when he tried to teach her take animal blood, he was still more focused on the cure. And regarding damon's death, are we really going to compare Jeremy and anna to delena. And she did end up taking her advice when she complled the memories away ( bit extreme but she was broken) The rebekah thing is just pushing everything one her, like elijah and damon were not in on it too. And what she said to stefan was kinda true, it only sounds wrong cos it came from her mouth. Elena was one of the best people in this series and ppl should stop judging her for making mistakes like she isn't a person, like yall would do better if at 17, u lost ur parents, aunt and uncle, became a target for the most powerful creature in the world and at 18, the one thing u didn't want to happen to you happens to cos cos u were a good friend and you lost ur brother. Hating on elena is crap. "If u actually got to end of this, thanks and I cant believe u actually read all my rant😂"
@@menasina-7k I could accept any justification for her actions really bbbuuutttt the Kol thing there is absolutely no justification for it. Klaus turning people and then having Jeremy kill them makes Klaus evil, Elena making Jeremy be responsible for killing 10s of thousands of people she has never met, people just like Caroline or Lexi or Rose or Josh some are good or they might be bad, they have relationships themselves, family, friends, lovers but just on a random night they all got wiped out because of one little girl trying to protect his brother, if Elena isn’t evil for that then Klaus isn’t evil for killing Jenna as he wanted to break his curse to defeat Mikael protecting his siblings
@@menasina-7k Then Katherine isn’t evil for trying to use Elena, Caroline, and Tyler as a sacrifice because she wanted to be free from Klaus, justifying something done at that level opens a massive can of worms that would also make every character with justifiable motive be doing the right thing even if they do something awful to achieve it, also the Rebekah thing Elijah wasn’t there he was daggered that was Mikael and Elena was the one that brought it up and also Damon being in on it is not a good thing
@@menasina-7k Also Jeremy was 15 when Anna died and she was the second girl that died on him and she was his first love that died abruptly and was brought back to life (partially) a few months later just like Elena it makes sense that Jeremy would be in grief her telling Jeremy that then proceeded to not take her own advice is what I’m referring to
@@menasina-7k Also with the Stefan thing he was trying to prevent her from being as violent as she became, like what he did for Caroline, I do believe that Stefan and Elena couldn’t work anyways because Stefan can’t stay with someone that becomes too dark for him but Elena has no right controlling who Stefan can and cannot be with, just like how people say that Caroline and Bonnie shouldn’t control Elena’s love life
@@Faceless1andonly this kinda proves my point, alot of characters did similar if not worse things but they aren't hated as much for it. But I'm not justify her doing it, it did realise that some of the vampires that died were good, I'm saying the hate us like she isn't allowed to do something about the fact kol wanted to kill Jeremy and if it was stefan or bonnie that came up with the idea, they wouldn't be hated as much for it. And that was when she had just turned, all her emotions heightened and her not having control yet, which means her hatred for kol definitely was heightened to, she couldn't have been thinking clearly
She’s a Mary Sue, she’s selfish, she’s self centered, she’s a hypocrite, she’s a pick me, she doesn’t listen and ends up putting her friends in danger. No character development, useless and weak even as a Vampire. In Rebekah’s words: Elena has no point. If I had to choose Bella or Elena I’d choose Bella 😆
Lol, you clearly haven’t watched the show. Elena is one of the most innocent, selfless characters in the show, and would always sacrifice herself for her friends if she needed, it’s just that literally everyone else wouldn’t let her
I actually dont hate her. She like most of the characters when trought a lot of pain and loss, she was only seventeen a the start, and keep losing people she love. She try to sacrifice herself many times like Bonnie did. The only reason why people got mad is beacuse she choose Damon over Stefan. They seem to forget that she wait for him, try to help him, and was there for him not matter what. I dont think she did anything terrible that characters like Caroline have done too. Not to metion she was human, she dint have powers lile vampires, witches or anithing like this, and still she did pretty good defending herself after she trained with Alaric, for someone that was just human.
Once the show began focusing on other characters, she started to become annoying and contradicting, her picking Damon over Stefan isn’t the problem, like I pointed out in the vid she was mad at Stefan for trying to sleep with Rebekah because she doesn’t like her due to her trying to kill him whilst sleeping with Damon who Caroline and Bonnie don’t like for similar reasons and when Caroline brings it up the fans say she’s controlling but when Elena tried to control Stefan’s love life there’s a lot of justification
Also her planning to kill Kol and subsequently his entire sideline is the most psychotic thing any of the main characters had ever done the only thing close is the Monterrey massacre but that isn’t even 10% amount of people Elena would’ve made Jeremy kill and Stefan did that as a ripper, Elena was fully conscious and had her humanity
For the first 2 seasons she’s more of a hit or miss but for me she was probably the best character in the first 2 along with Katherine but afterwards her character just began getting worse and the fact that the writers don’t want to make Damon completely good kinda ruin Elena’s character
Beginning of the video first false statement: Damsel in distress? She fought a vampire the sams age as the Salvatore’s without any help using wooden pencils and nearly killed him with a mop in the literal first season to save her brother. She also rarely got kidnapped and was even rarer for her to be helpless. She knocked out Doctor Wes when he had her strapped even before Stefan came to save her from a situation that Damon and Enzo were in for years
@@happyfriends7965 And she held down Kol with a knife those are obvious plot armour but Elena being a damsel in distress was quite literally a running gag that characters in universe began pointing it out, in season 3 alone she had to be saved from certain death over 10x because she either picks fights with people that are too strong for her or she becomes a hostage or someone attacks her for pissing them off
@@Faceless1andonly Kol was weak compared to other originals as he was daggered for most of his life and besten several times by younger opponents, he displayed no feats that put him on par with other originals besides Finn who was killed by Matt, aside from holding his own a bit and being destroyed by a nerfed Klaus so you can scale him properly and her being creative with fighting an arrogant vampire does not necessarily qualify as plot armor. Stefan was also called a damsel as were likely other characters and who wasn’t saved dozens of times throughout any show.
@@happyfriends7965 yh those were plot armour both the Salvatores got dogged by Sage who is much weaker and younger than Finn who lost in a fight against Kol, so yes those are plot armour, the same thing with Caroline fighting and surviving against multiple 160+ year old vampires

I dislike Elena cause she never changes from S1-6 and the biggest damsel in distress in television history. She never listens, always making demands and what makes it worse is everyone in Mystic Falls executes order 66 to do whatever it is she wants. She always crying and even in the comic books Caroline and others are telling her to lighten up for once. Elena just never changes. And what makes it worse is that most problems or situations are usually somewhat solvable. But at some point you come to see that the issues are made systematically worse because of Elena.
How about instead of calling her a damsel in distress you actually use your brain and realize that Elena was not the only one who kept getting kidnapped and needed to be saved. Even precious Caroline who everyone claims is strong and independent got kidnapped at least once a season that I can remember and she was a vampire during most if not all of those times she didn't even try to defend herself and she had to be saved multiple times by Elena, Tyler or Stefa
@@FifthHarmony1234 not a single character was even in the remotely close to the amount of times Elena was saved from capture or certain death, like Caroline and Elena aren’t even remotely close. My issue with Elena being saved all the time is that a lot of times it’s easily preventable, they tell her to do something but she has to be part of the plan like she’s very strong in general, and it’s usually for a good reason, the ones I mentioned in the video aren’t even the only ones, like she wanted to track the Appalachian mountains to find Stefan knowing he is almost certainly with Klaus (who believed she’s dead and wants her dead) Alaric told her not to she wanted go anyways, what if Alaric didn’t call Damon or Klaus spots Elena instead of Stefan, especially after being enraged after failing, then what? She gets captured then everyone has to frankly work their ass off to save her life putting their lives at risk unnecessarily or even worse she gets killed making John’s death completely pointless and probably gonna have to force Bonnie to do a resurrection spell that she doesn’t have the power to pull off all because Elena because Elena doesn’t want to follow a perfectly justified advice because of one phone call that the other person didn’t even speak, what if it was Klaus trying to make sure the ritual didn’t go wrong
@@FifthHarmony1234 Caroline isn’t strong and independent that’s why she follows advice, if and when Caroline does get captured it isn’t because she doesn’t follow advice, a large chunk of the time with Caroline she got captured was in season 2, and the only time it was because she wasn’t following advice was when she was captured by the wolves, Caroline doesn’t just hand herself over doing something she isn’t supposed to do knowing the direct consequences and knowing people are going to have to sacrifice to save her life because of her ignorance the reason why Caroline seems like she’s in danger more is because Caroline gets captured the same amount or slightly more but Elena has to be consistently saved from imminent death way more than any character
Stefan has to be saved multiple times too and so does Damon or pretty much every character in the series. It’s not about never needing help or having to be saved, it’s that the entire story seems to consistently revolve around Elena needing to be saved because she was being stupid. Is Stefan not “strong and independent” because he had to be saved from the Tomb Vampires or out of the well filled with vervain? Nope. Caroline isn’t less of a badass either for getting into trouble she needs help escaping from every once in a while. Yeah I think Elena has so much trauma over losing her parents and their aunt Jenna pretty recently that she goes extreme overprotective sister over Jeremy to the point of annoyance and Elena doesn't even wanna still with the possibility of losing Jeremy but as we saw when Silas killed Jeremy Elena had a complete mental breakdown and if Damon hadn't made Elena turn her humanity off Elena mind would have snapped from the grief
Elena was interesting in the first two/three seasons. The moment she became a vampire, I started disliking her. The only good thing that happened after she became a vampire was the magical coma Kai put her in.
the truth is that she accidentally depicts a victim of emotional abuse once she's with damon. before that she's someone recovering from grief, very vulnerable, but emotionally strong overly empathetic and generally a good person who lots of shit happens to. but she loses all autonomy and contradicts her own morality and anything she stands for and becomes a hypocritical mess by getting with someone who has been so terrible to those she cares about. it makes her hard to root for when the true martyrs are bonnie/stefan, someone who is just as much of a victim is caroline, and even tyler/matt have lost loved ones because of damon and other villains. BUT it actually really mimics the mindset of someone who while vulnerable enters into a toxic relationship. just saying.
Nina dobrev plays FOUR characters. Elena, Katherine, Amara, and Tati (from the Originals. The doppelganger that came before Katherine TECHNICALLY). The order goes to Amara, Tati, Katherine, and Elena. So, Nina Dobrev is a GOAT! She played FOUR different characters with FOUR different personalities and three in ONE episode! The one when Tessa (right before she died as she promised) had to put them all three together and do a spell in order to bring back Bonnie and make her the Anchor.

@Faceless1andonly oh most definitely. I wasn't saying anything bad against what your video. I think it's so smashing how so young she was acting all of those characters. Ya know. Great video, BTW. My least favorite character was Matt and Tyler and (Season 1 Caroline). Her development after becoming a vampire was amazing. Yes, Elena definitely screwed A LOT up also. Especially since everyone works, always put her in front of anything! It was really nice to see Damon putting Bonnie first later on. Then, when he messages that statement to Elena, I am doing it for Bonnie, not you. Either he or Stephen said that to her in an episode, and the shock on her face and the jealousy with Stephen even after the fact that she was dating damon was so annoying. Another agreement. Like when she had her humanity off and he was dancing with Caroline having fun and she saw them she got so mad and took it out on carolines mom. It was screwed up. But I know Stephen made a lot of mistakes, humanity , also. Killing Enzo and all, so I can't really say much about her hurting her friends, but the jealousy stuff was all throughout the seasons after she left him. It was nuts! I really liked the vampire Rose. That died from getting bit by jewels.
The conversation of Elena trying to kill Kol is so horribly out of character and comparison to her previous self that it immediately made me dislike season 4. I feel like the way Nina acted that scene was on purpose because she seems like she's annunciating like Katherine and even using katherine's body movements during that scene. If anything it would have made far more sense for Kol on a whim to just decide to attack them of which case they kill him on accident in self-defense.

Elena is like JLo in real life. Once loved by many. At one point one hater decided to nit-pick every little thing they say or do (even though there are around dozens of much worse and much hypocritical people than them), everyone caught on that and decided to follow the trend and also start hating on them until it became fashionable. I swear, Klaus, Damon and Katherine killed how many people for no reason? Dozens, hundreds, thousands. They're charismatic, Elena maybe isn't that much, but being charismatic and hot isn't a redeeming factor for killing people for no reason. The only time Elena killed was a)when she had her emotions turned off (and she got'em turnt off because she was forced to do it by Damon), b) she killed Kole (or whatever his name was, but he was a serious threat to her friends and brother and don't act like Originals haven't killed people who were useless for them many times, c) she killed accirently Caroline's bf on college but she was protecting Damon from being killer, d) she back-stabbed Rebbeka, but even though Rebbeka had her emotional moment with Elena she knew Rebbeka was unstable emotionally and she wouldn't let them get rid of Klaus (who I remind y'all was a massive brutal sadistic murderer). Yeah, Elena had her hypocritical times when she acted like "mrs know it all", but every girl has moments like that, it's normal. At least she didn't get mad at Caroline for becoming a vampire, whereas Bonnie at first started to despise her even though Caroline didn't choose this fate for herself and she was literally forcefully turned. what i really hate is her relationship with damon, who not only SA’d caroline and vicky, but harassed elena multiple times (kissed her or tried to kiss her when she explicitly said no and tried to push him away), not to mention when, as a consequence of her rejection, he literally killed jeremy for no reason at all. “well katherine was the one who actually killed him” yeah she was but she had a reason (questionable or not, she was still trying to save her own life), unlike damon who did all of this without a real reason.
elena still got with him despite knowing all that he did to her, to stefan (even lexi omg), to caroline and to bonnie so she’s pretty fucking stupid, just like the ”well she changed damon” girl no she did not, he changed her for the worse.
if anything, it was bonnie who changed damon a little in the prison world and made him somewhat of a better person.
with elena it was just a codependent kinda thing, but i get in the 010s they had a thing for putting these toxic relationships on a pedestal 😭
nina dobrev lowk a goat for playing multiple roles in one show at the same time
SHE IS THE ANGEL OF DEATH. everyone dies around her and she stay on top.
Both Elena and Sookie Stackhouse from True Blood 😂😂
The only time I really liked Elena was when she turned off her emotions and when she wasnt guilt tripped for being a vampire.
And she did end up taking her advice when she complled the memories away ( bit extreme but she was broken)
The rebekah thing is just pushing everything one her, like elijah and damon were not in on it too.
@@PerfectlyImperfect93 Woah I wouldn’t go that far, Bella is Elena but on a whole other level basically every bad Elena attribute but made 100x worse
@@Faceless1andonly 😆
she is not selfish ‼️‼️‼️
Thank you so much for this, ppl don't realise for someone who kept loosing ppl she handled herself well
Beginning of the video first false statement: Damsel in distress? She fought a vampire the sams age as the Salvatore’s without any help using wooden pencils and nearly killed him with a mop in the literal first season to save her brother. She also rarely got kidnapped and was even rarer for her to be helpless. She knocked out Doctor Wes when he had her strapped even before Stefan came to save her from a situation that Damon and Enzo were in for years
@@happyfriends7965 And she held down Kol with a knife those are obvious plot armour but Elena being a damsel in distress was quite literally a running gag that characters in universe began pointing it out, in season 3 alone she had to be saved from certain death over 10x because she either picks fights with people that are too strong for her or she becomes a hostage or someone attacks her for pissing them off
@@happyfriends7965 She was taken hostage three times in season 3 alone, by Esther, Klaus, and Rebekah/Elijah

@@Delmazz In my opinion Stelena although more stable was very boring but Delena didn’t work because they made Elena insufferable for her to be with him and a walking contradiction
@@Delmazz Also I wanted Elena to get with Damon and leave Stefan because I prefer more complicated stories relationships in television but actually not have her own a holier than thou attitude and understand her situation that for her to be with Damon she needs to understand that people can also be with people she doesn’t like
I dislike Elena cause she never changes from S1-6 and the biggest damsel in distress in television history.
That is not why I hate Elena. And its not why most people hate her either.
@@Faceless1andonly True I agree.
At least she had a lot of really cool and strong scenes to balance that out which Elena didn’t really.

Made Damon compel Jeremy to leave town, despite going on and on about how she wants to make her own choices.
Got upset when Caroline kept judging Damon after he compelled and abused her.
Now that I think about it - her loving Damon is why she's a giant hypocrit. It has nothing to do with Stefan. Also just to mention, she kissed Damon multiple times before she broke up with Stefan.
Stefan never came close to beating Klaus in any way. He put up a good fight that was it

i don't. shes a good character. never understood the hate.
For the first 2 seasons she was arguably the best written character in the show but from season 3 onwards almost all of her storylines revolves around Damon or Stefan which is the same problem I had with Stefan and she became quickly annoying like season 1 Caroline
So you didn't watch the video?
Elena is the true evil one. She met a dude who told her he was a vampire and he killed people for a hundred years and she literally invited him home to meet her family. Damon graped caroline and vicky. Elena sweeped that under the rug. Damon murdered her brother right in front her. She sweeped that under the rug. She was cheating on stephan the entire time. Her relationship with damon while she was with stephen is some of the most disgusting behavior a female can display. Elena was the true villian to everyone she knew.

I havent even watched out TVD but from all the random clips of the show that i see, Elena is being absolutely insufferable & entitled.
-she had nothing to do w/ Grams death she can’t control exhaustion
-she’s not responsible for other people’s actions
-kinda right about the hypocrisy lol true
-kol WAS NOT SOME HERO he simply didn’t want Silas back so tht HE wouldn’t suffer. That’s NOT the same as trying to save his sire line. Which he probably doesn’t care about either lol
People hate her cause they’re either sexist & want her to be responsible for literally everyone else actions while holding her to a weirdly high standard for a 17y old teenager ?
@@dv.c3700 I never said Kol was trying to protecting his sireline neither did I say he is a hero, he is a psychopath but the reason why Kol was hell bent on stopping them raising is because he was told by witches during his travels that Silas would bring death to this world and Kol vehemently fought to stop that, he even told Elena if they stopped he would stop, I mean the guy even held a stake on Rebekah’s back before he was stopped for the same reason
@@dv.c3700 I don’t hate her because I’m sexist, her gender has little bearing to whether I like or dislike her character, I dislike her character because her characterisation went downhill after season 3 and it stopped making sense and contradicts her initial characterisation, her being slightly dark isn’t a problem as I genuinely prefer villains more than heroes because they are more complex but they were trying to eat their cake and have it too by making her get darker over the season but still keep her righteousness “holier than thou” attitude like she is the Queen of moral virtue when she’s committed the most insane act any of the main characters had done, that’s something that I imagine Klaus doing but innocent Elena no way
@@dv.c3700 other characters were also 17 and showed growth, Caroline, Bonnie, even Tyler showed growth and these were characters that had consistent writing, when Bonnie started to get dark in season 4, they didn’t sugarcoat it, it was never condescending she just did really dark things and she understands that it’s dark, when Elena does things it’s kinda like she doesn’t understand just how dark it is, like she didn’t care at all about the genocide she’s about to commit, almost like a sociopath
@@dv.c3700 I loved Elena in the first 2 seasons when her characterisation was consistent with her actions but then it starts to contradict itself from season 3 onwards

Her “growth” doesn’t have to look linear the way we’re all used too. She’s allows regress & be. Also kol (again) mostly seemed concerned w/ himself IN the world not the world itself (or the safety of those in it) so she can’t be a “sociopath” for acting literally like how Al of them act. Didn’t Caroline kill 12 witches and not blink an eye ? But when it’s her or anyone else it’s “iconic”. Just my view
@@ToniMetelsky-h8q Yes I am aware of how good of an actresses, her acting isn’t why people don’t like her as most people love Katherine but dislike Elena

When you have a beautiful, nice, natural, ambitious and femminine girl you're supposed to like her, but we're live in strange times when people literally are so hypocritical and over-sensitive that they defend the abusers, murderers but hate on someone like Elena. Yeah, I know it's fiction but I'm just getting in the shoes of Elena haters who hate her with full passion and it's not normal xd
