  • We all know riding is dangerous. Shocker I know. Here's the thing though, I wanna be doing this stuff as long as I possibly can, and in order to do that you have to make smart decisions about your safety and the gear you wear. Today, I'm showing you guys my secret weapon that is going to keep me as safe as possible while I ride and give peace of mind to my loved ones that wish I chose a less dangerous hobby.

    OC I prefer the Helite E-Turtle2. Same tech just goes over the jacket. It could be my imagination but it covers more and inflates more because it fits over your gear. You should include it in your comparison video. It's a different option because it goes over

    I have Helite E-Moov backpack. I wont ride without it. I needed a backpack (sportbike rider) and this was perfect for me. I can detach the backpack part if its a quick ride and I dont need any storage. Then its just an airvest. Also I like the fact its only £60 to replace the cartridge and you can do it yourself. Any Airbag is better than none. Ride safe.

    I’ve been using a tether strap air bag since I took up riding again last year. Fits neatly over any riding gear. Still wear regular riding jacket(s) and pants depending on the weather, but the airbag always goes on top.
    I use a Japanese manufacturer called Hit-air - great quality at affordable price point. They have various options with and without a back protector included. I choose to have the back protector as part of my riding jacket and simply put a light airbag on top.

    You mentioned how the heavy backpack bothers your shoulder. Heavy backpacks bother me as well due to the arthritis in my back. I have an MT09SP and I recently got a “Nelson Rigg” brand tail bag. It’s a total lifesaver for day trips. I had been putting it off because bags are all so expensive. Nelson Rigg is actually cheap. $120 for a durable, high quality, lifetime warranty bag. I got the middle size tail bag it fits the MT’s tail perfectly. It has surprisingly large capacity too. For size reference, it can easily fit 12 water bottles (standard 16.9fl oz size). I can’t feel it unless I scoot wayyy back on the seat. It also comes with a 100% waterproof cover. And it’s super easy to take off and put back on. When you take it off you can tuck in the straps and you don’t even know your bike has a bag attachment.
    lol I’m not a sponsor but I totally would be one.
    All the money I saved on the bag, I can put towards my airbag vest 💪🏼🥳

    I have the Dainese version, which they recently had on sale for mid $500's. One thing that could be a difference is that you can take it to a Dainese store and get it repacked by certified techs and not have to mail it in. The store I bought mine from said they can recertify it in about an hour. Also, I'm sure the Alpinestars does it, but it also protects you from being hit from behind, such as at a stoplight. Honestly, it's a cheap insurance policy to have since people cannot drive at all.

    I bought the Alpinestars Tech Air 3. It broke after 3 short rides. Just stopped turning on. Alpinestars had me do a battery reset, but it still wouldn't turn on. They told me to email customer support for an RMA number. They didn't reply. I emailed them again, but still did not get back to me. I called them again. Customer service told me that I would have to wait for the RMA number to be emailed to me. After 2 months, still never got it. Customer service told me they are backed up, so I need to be patient for them to email me an RMA number. Still nothing. So I am out $600 on a POS pile of fabric, tech and batteries that don't even work. If Alpinestars is so backed up that they can't send me a simple RMA number to return the vest for replacement or repair, then they must have some big issues with quality and can't handle the returns. I'm done with Alpinestars because of this.

    I've been eyeing the Revit one (same as the Tech Air 5 but I heard the ergos are a bit nicer) because I had a small crash last year that broke my collarbone. Thankfully my insurance picked up the bill because the resulting surgeries and hospital stays were well in excess of $100,000. The only thing stopping me is actually what I'd do with it when I pull up somewhere if I was meeting friends. But I think the actual answer is "I'd figure something out" and safety trumps that.

    OC: Best airbag vest I've used. It's so simple, a airbag vest is cheap insurance like frame sliders. Cuz what's a vest that costs up to 1k compared to over a 6 figure hospital bill. Really should be a nationwide law that all riders should be wearing one, especially since of late you see alot of riders dying while riding.

    • @spartanx169x
      @spartanx169x 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @Frank_Torre
      @Frank_Torre 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@spartanx169x That's true. Yet alot of the recent deaths have been caused by car vs bike accidents where the rider high sides off over the bars or clipons and over the cars hood and even worse if the bike follows em over it. Yes if the bike follows you then crush injuries can still kill you, but if it doesn't then the airbag deploys protects your head, neck and spine. Trust me I've had a accident years ago when I had the green light and didn't slow down as it just turned green and entered the intersection only for a drunk driver to run the red and tag the rear of my bike highsiding me off into a parallel parked car. Had I a vest on it would've saved me months of recovery from cracked ribs, broken arm, concussion and back pain set to a 11.

    On a previous video titled, "Is it SAFE Enough? | Ruroc Atlas 4.0 Track Unboxing and First Impressions"
    I reported it because you did not state your review was sponsored. It seems there is a bit of shady business going on with that company and the people that endorse its products.
    TH-cam requires creators to clearly inform their audience when a video includes paid promotion, sponsorship, or endorsement. This is to ensure transparency and to maintain trust with the viewer.
    If a creator fails to adequately disclose such relationships, it can be considered a violation of TH-cam’s terms of service, specifically their policies on transparency and honesty.
    This not only applies to TH-cam’s rules but also often aligns with federal advertising regulations in many countries, such as the FTC guidelines in the United States, which mandate clear and conspicuous disclosure of sponsorships.

      That's not true. My suit is very snug with it on, and they showed me where the vest would take the slack from my suit. You have more slack than you think you do. Though they did they you won't be able to breathe after it goes off, but you would just unzip your jacket/suit to give you breathing room.

  • @TheLastCrankers
    @TheLastCrankers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    These have been covered before I believe. The bladders inside are very easy to break so I doubt they will last more than one deployment. Additionally, you don’t need a computer to check if you’re crashing, a tether is just as effective. Another thing is refilling - since you have to send it to them to refill you’re subjected to their mercy. Some they will refill, sure, but I’m willing to bet a good chunk of refill requests will be denied in the name of “safety concerns over the state of the internal bladder” (and profits from the bladder repair).
    So all in all, airbags are the solution, just not this one.
    Edit 1: I love that companies call linear regression “AI”
    Edit 2: I have doubts about how much this airbag is stiffening around and supporting a neck in a helmet, it looks way too flat to offer any kind of protection around that area.
