Thank you for the review. Until this year I had only one true diver watch, an Omega mid-size Seamaster 300 Professional. I have been looking at the Citizen NY0040 for quite a while and I saw your recent review of it, but most of my watches are automatics and I wanted something different. I like Citizen's Eco-Drive and watched this review with interest, but chose not to get the Aqualand as it is quite large (to my liking) and I will never use all of it's features. Instead I bought a Citizen Promaster BN0151 (blue dial and bezel). After wearing it for two weeks I am very happy with my choice.

Citizen killed it with this watch. Great review.

It’s not a helium escape valve it’s a water sensor that watch is an air diver only…great looking watch 👍

Good review, that is not a helium escape valve though, this is an air diver, that is a water sensor, so it automatically starts the dive mode and depth sensor for business 👍

Sir, that is a proper diver watch. Very good choice. From the guy that had many eco-drives,divers and nondivers promaster, in my collection, i can tell you that are bulletproof watches, very good quality, the quartz movement is very precise and no need for maintenance for at least 10-15 years (thats the capacitor/baterry life). Wear it in good health!!!

This sensor at 3 o'clock is not a helium release valve, but rather a water sensor. This sensor puts the watch into dive mode once it senses water.

I've been eyeing this watch for a while too. Thought it would be too large. I'll have to try it out now. 🙂

How does the blue strap fit on a smaller (6.7") wrist? Is it longer than the black strap you have on the watch. I'm concern the blue strap would wrap too much around on a smaller wrist, or there aren't enough holes to accommodate a smaller wrist.

The blue strap will fit. I have a 6.25 inch wrist. I just don’t like the all writing on the blue strap and it’s not as comfortable as the strap I replaced it with. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Another great review, that's a beast of a watch!
I have the black version of your 'vintage ' Promaster', needs a new battery, but it's a great watch. I have several Eco-Drives, I love them, they're great movements, only needs light to work!
The Seiko S5 'Land Shark' is also known as the Atlas, named after the mountain range I guess? I totally agree that it's great watch, and probably more practical than a lot older divers, although not ISO certified, but like most owners I don't 'dive' I 'swim' at most so that bit is really irrelevant?
Looking forward to a review of the 'old Promaster' soon please.......

I do like large watches and I like that one allot currently I have two citizens and I would wear them at any occasion but thats me..
Seiko does discontinue many of its cool dive watches just the other day I was looking for the baby tuna and the monster both large dive watches and sadly not to be found anymore

It’s a great watch for sure. Keep hunting I’m sure you will find one. The thrill is in the hunt. Good luck.

Awesome review! Can You tell me Your oponion na a BN2040-17X TITANIUM? Would You prefer it, even tho the price is higher? I cant finf info about the bezel in the titanium one, is it still aluminium? Thanks

The green dial is gorgeous. I think it might be out of production so you are getting it on the Grey market. Price is not to bad for Grey market. Being titanium, green and possibly out of production. You will pay a little more, but that green is awesome.

I have this watch. One thing I don't like is that some of the depth readings are dark red and I am not able to see them. They should all be white.

Citizen has a long and distinguished history in producing uncompromising built-for-purpose ISO rated dive watches. Divers with actual 'street cred' in the professional diving community, not watches to impress the ladies at the bar next to the swimming pool in your holiday resort.

I would buy this watch if displayed depth in feet.

    • @DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri

Nearly all dive watches are in meters. Conversion simple. 1 meter equals roughly 3 feet. Most watch’s I have and have handled that measure depth are in meters. Kind of military and universal standard for diving. Thanks for the comment and watching .
