I wished Kairi would have given her necklace to Riku, like he gave his to Sora, and like she gave her lucky charm to Sora. Would have made things full circle, and shown how and why the bond between the three is so strong.
Yeah, during the little side trip you take as every playable character in birth by sleep, each one meeting with their kh1 equivalent if memory serves well. It was a cool little scene tying these people together. Especially ventus and sora

I’m sorry, but why do you need outside archival information to figure that out?
It was pretty obvious in the game.
By sleep, they make it a pretty big point of showing aqua place to protective charm on Kairi.
She then tells the girl that if she’s ever in danger, this charm will take her someplace safe.
At that point when everything starts going fubar, the safest place would be Destiny Island because from the beginning of birth by sleep, that place was locked from the darkness because of Ventus. And that protection last until KH1.
And I was able to figure all that out just from the pieces of information you get from the games.

People like you is why the KH fandom gets a bad rap.
You know it's possible some people haven't played all the games. Some might have only played one or two of the main titles and only tangentially know the entire BBS story, including details like that. Not everyone is working with the same set of information as you to piece together in the first place. Some people may have had the pieces but never put two and two together. There's so many reasons it's okay that this person made a video archiving all of this info.
Not everything is made *for* you, so if you find yourself asking this question again, that might just be the answer. So maybe think about the world and people outside yourself next time, something that a KH fan _should_ understand, before writing a few paragraphs with a pretentious attitude next time, questioning the validity of something that has every right to exist.

I am not disparaging the video for the information it was giving.
I also understand that not everybody is going to get all of the information or be able to put two into together so video like this is warranted.
My only issue was why did the video require an outside resource?
When he could merely mention what happens in the games?
You don’t mean a miscellaneous book to tell you information, as if it’s the only way you could get that information.
That was my issue with the video, that the guy in the video made it sound like it’s only through this book with information from the creator of kingdom, heart himself that you were able to glean this information.
That was the problem that I was having with the video.
I’m more than understand that the KH franchise is complicated.
I’ve meant the fandom can be a little intense, but your venom isn’t warranted nor needed.
You could just as easily imparted the exact same information without the condescension.

Because I was asking a legitimate question of why do you need an ancillary book?
The guy in the video also, sounded as if it’s only through the book that you found this information.

And sora and riku already had key blade potential and sora was probably the king of hearts
Would anyone entertain the idea that Kairi is the reincarnation of Ava? Or like a regression of sorts? Because in 3 it’s revealed that a girl appeared in Radiant Garden with no memory. Lea and Isa met her there. Trying to figure out how to bust her out but then she suddenly disappeared. Melody of Memoriy goes more in depth and shows that Xehanort was activity experimenting on Kairi. Showing that he too was responsible for transporting her to Destiny Island. I mean I also entertain the idea that Kairi’s grandmother could be Ava as well. Also Xehanort’s experiments on Kairi could have nothing to do with the mystery girl. Just throwing out ideas.
So then here's the real next question: why doesn't she return to Radiant Garden after KH1? I mean it was being called Hollow Bastion but still, same place different name. Is it because she viewed Destiny Islands as her home?
It’s stated in the game that everyone would return to where they were before the worlds started to disappear. Kairi was on Destiny Islands before it disappeared, so she returned there.
And she has gone back to Radiant Garden after the events of KH3 to help search for Sora aka the entire melody of memories game but she probably does just feel like destiny islands is home at this point and wants to stay there.
@@mezuGC specifically before the worlds were starting to disappear? Huh. I thought it was more like "you'll return home" but 100% probably not remembering KH1 line for line lol
i see so many people say that kairi didnt even remember shes from raidiant garden by the time of kh 1... nope she actually does. if you dont believe me go talk to her in the ff house after youve gotten the gummi block to finish the game. she has 1-3 dialouges one off which is her telling sora: i used to live in hollow bastion but i dont remember much now... she says more but i only had a picture of that sentence 😅. its something about her sora, riku playing on the islands and thats her real home now

Then she decided to go to school in KH2. Makes me wonder about the town across the Destiny Island which wasn't consumed by darkness.
the whole place was consumed. the island you get to play on in KH 1 is only one of the destiny islands.

Why did she go back to destiny islands instead of radiant garden when the words reformed?
And where is Sora's Mom that we see flashbacks talking to him in KH1?
She was on a fragment of destiny island when the worlds returned which is why she was sent there instead also she probably considers the islands to be her new home despite no being originally from their
I like to think it's a callback to the saying "Home is where the heart is". She grew up in Destiny Islands. Created deep ties there. It's her home now.
I loved the first kingdom hearts then the whole story got all jumbled up never played another ever again 😒
I mean that is the charm of kingdom hearts.
Sora not either
I dont believe sora is originally from destiny islands either. I think he's been in a coma the whole time, and he keeps meeting disney characters because his loved ones read fairy tales to him in his coma/sleep. Almost exactly like that one episode of Supernatural where the doctor has a daughter thats been in a coma for 10 years, but he still reads old fairy tales to her, and she begins manifesting them into reality.
Kairi is just an annoying character. She finally got more of a personality in KH3 but you still couldn't play as her that I remember in past meet ups for video game convention Nomura statted you could
She's not annoying (especially if you read the mangas). She's just put in annoying situations.

Umm no. It is hard to understand yes but makes theory videos like this more useful.
Leaning additional information about a story in subsequent parts is literally not a "retcon" in any way whatsoever.
