Hi Pete, the 450 Himalayan finally arrived to the dealership near me in the U.S. I was very impressed with the fit and finish, and it had a sticker price lower than my Honda CRF 300l Rally! RE is absolutely killing it with their bikes.

A very thorough and comprehensive review Pete. Best one yet!! If you were the RE Salesperson, it'd be hard to say no to the Bear 650.
I very much enjoyed your video. Great job, and well done! 👏👏👏

bloody lovely bike, negative is everyone i know who owns these new RE says the headlight is shi7e, they are not kidding based on the video in the dark, wow - this same cluster is shared across so many models and it's crap - i would defo get some aux lights because even the high beam sucks

Does anyone know how to adjust a headlight any more ? It would be way better tilted up a touch...

Hi I’m in uk that was a great review round the bear I’m looking at getting one as a winter hack I come from a mx back ground and scrambler style is what I like I ride a triumph rocket 3gt chrome edition I don’t know if you have that colour in Australia and it’s a fantastic bike but I don’t want to ride it in the British winter so I think the bear would be a good bike for that but I wouldn’t take that out when the salt goes down they will both stay in the garage but great review ithink they look well built and also they are good value for money take care and have a great Christmas

Where is the battery located Pete ? My bike is locked in a lock up garage, but unfortunately no mains electricity , so it's important to me to have quick and easy access to the battery to charge it externally when left for extended periods over winter .

Hi, Good question, It is located behind the Tool Kit on the Right hand side. Take the side cover off, remove the tool kit, remove 3 screws that hold the tool kit holder in place, and the battery is behind that cover. You can download all Royal Enfield owners manuals from the Royal Enfield web site. Regards FPPete.

The swingarm is slightly longer as well... And that headlight needs adjusting up..

Thanks for the Swingarm info, I wasn't aware of that. Yeah I did mention about adjusting the headlight but that got cut out in the editing process. Kind Regards FPPete.

      Some might say the opposite.

How much power do you need?
I have a Scram 411 which has literally half the horsepower of the Bear 650 and it will go anywhere and do anything just fine.
Also, remember that these types of naked bikes are not really meant for high speeds, because at some point, the wind would just push you off the bike.
      These bikes are NOT
designed to break track records...they are designed to be simple, reliable and good looking.

There's plenty of other bikes for you mate, this is like the older UJM's, just perfect for a lot of us, going by the popularity of these bikes, and the fact that motorcycle dealerships are disappearing at a quick rate of knots, I think the motorcycle manufacturers have dropped the ball not making more simple bikes like this....

      @MickH60 You are 100% correct.
I don't care for fancy electronics, ride modes or top speed.
I want to enjoy a simple, reliable motorcycle and ride it the way it is meant to be ridden while enjoying the scenery, instead of going 150 mph while scraping a knee every time I take a corner...there is no need for that.

Hi, Thanks for your comment. The best thing about motorcycles is the Choice we have. There is something for everyone. Many love the simple things, others love all the high end tech. What ever puts a smile on your face. Kind regards FPPete.

No it's definitely not the best. They are built to a price. Let's see how long they last on the road.

Hi Thanks for watching the Vid, and thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you. Credit to Royal Enfield is that they are continually improving their brand, which is a good thing. We know the Interceptor has been a winner so I'm sure the BEAR will be as good. Good warranty and Road side assist should help if there are any issues. Kind Regards FPPete.
